The internet is a strange place. I never knew RC tanks were this good. I stumbled across one of your videos while looking up details of the M2A2 bradley fighting vehicle, and watched you unbox the M1A2 Abrams. Ended up buying one :) The Leopard 2 will probably be my second :)
Hi! They are quite fun! And I guess you can spend your money on a lot of worst things! 😂 thanks for watching and saying hi, makes the channel worthwhile to do!
The drive shaft bearings are a must !!!! It is a cheap way to extend the life of the gearbox and the tracks have way less problems. Especially metal tracks and running gear. great video. You have me thinking of getting this kitty-kat !!!! LOL 🙂 ....... I shot my hand, too !!!!!!!!!! That was a mistake !!!!!!!!! >>facepalm
I am about to get into the RC tank side of the hobby and will certainly be spending some time watching your videos. Thank you for sharing. I am having a hard time choosing my first one but most likely will go with one of the larger ones since my buddy already has an Abrams. Leo 2 prob winning right now
Hi! Thanks for watching! Your far too kind 🙂 The Leo I think is actually the best detailed if the lot, the most accurate from the box. Again thanks! And have a great rest of the week
Those plastic gearboxes can’t take a lot of abuse. I have a T90 all plastic that I killed the gearbox in the first two weeks driving on well trimmed lawn. The left running got totally chewed out doing normal turns on turf. A good combination I found if you want to really run them would be steel high speed ratio gears, metal sprockets, idlers, return rollers, and plastic road wheels and tracks. Mind you, with the plastic road wheels, I cut up the right width from a 20mm dia inner tube and used that as the rubber pad for the road wheels. So far, it hasn’t failed me yet.
The same happened on my kids t-72, if they go on this journey might replace with the cheap metal boxes, intend to just keep it plastic for the mo. There’s so much slop in the final drives, I hoping the bearings might stop it a bit, the great experiment!. (If you get that quote your as sad as me! 😉)
I blocked up the little power reducing vent holes in the barrel of my Heng Long CH2 and it doesn't half shoot a lot further and harder now! I may try and shim the spring to get even more out of it xD
Hi ya I got a heng long tiger 1 it died no lights no nothing so I ordered a new motherboard took a few weeks to get here fitted it all up still didn't work so I've been around rc planes / cars / speed boat so you have to bind the tx with the rx so I looked on TH-cam how to bind the tank now it all works so I've ended up with two motherboards if anyone needs one lol
Hi! That’s what I like about heng long tigers, they break down as much as the real ones! 🤣 that’s a very kind offer, and thanks for watching! Have a great weekend 🙂
Hi! Thanks and that’s a good tank, I’ve done a build on one too, accurate dimensions, which is great 🙂 Thanks so much for watching and dropping me a line, means a lot! Have a great day 🙂
Really enjoy watching your videos, love how you customise your tanks. I’ve learnt many things too! New to the hobby and currently have 3 HLs! Could you please leave a link to the plastic you use to make the vision blocks? I’d really like to have a go at making these for my Abrams! Many thanks and keep up the vids! Kind regards (CG from Croydon UK)
Hi! I’m doing a full vid how, and it will have all the stuff in the description you need, should be out in 2 weeks 🙂 Thanks for watching and taking the time to get in touch! Good old Croydon 🙂
Hi! Do you mean the actual filming? I really haven’t got a clue! 😂 I just stick the iPhone on, I must get a proper camera when I get some money from this (but that’s not for a while) Thanks so much for watching! Have a great rest of the week!
Hi! sorry for not getting back sooner, nuts week. i wanted for this build for it to be bog standard and show whats possible with a bit of paint 😁. I fitted a 360 slip ring as a tutorial, but i might give posting a break for a couple of weeks, i think your all getting fed up with me! 😂 thanks for watching and saying hi! Have a great weekend
Brilliant video, throughly enjoy watching your channel. I'm new to the rc tank world, how easy is it to start changing the gears wheels to metal and removing the tracks? Martin
Hi! And thanks! Thanks for supporting me and my channel 🙂 It’s all really simple, just make sure you take pictures while disassembling it and do it in reverse to fit. The biggest thing is not muddling up the motor wires left and right. The tracks don’t need separating if the sprocket or front idlers are off, you slip the tracks in the sprocket or idler and slip it over the shaft. Let me know if you need any help! Thanks so much again 🙂 Have a great week!
Hi ya, enjoy watching your videos, they are amazing 👍I've recently purchased a M1A2, a week ago, and put some BBs in to try it out. Managed to fire maybe 6-8, and then It wouldn't fire anymore. Think and sure it is jammed up. Could you help me with this at all? I'm Really Not Happy about this. Any ideas on how I could sort this out? Many thanks, Steve 👍
Hi! thanks for watching them, means a lot!. is the BB unit still cycling? making the motor noise? or is it silent when you press the trigger?. if its silent a wire might have pulled from the bb motor unit. if its still cycling try cycling it till its nearly firing, the chamber should be open at that point, and turn it upside down and shake the tank and see if anything comes out, and you could carefully put a long thin stick down the barrel to see if you can dislodge anything. also were you using the heng long bbs, there terrible, some are smashed, and jam up the plunger. if that doesnt work its taking the turret off and stripping it down to the unit. let me know how you get on!
Even without the BB Gun I wouldn't exactly call _any_ 1/16 sized Tank Model Kids friendly simply because of the exposed Drive Sprocket filsi littel fingerz could get caught in-between them and the tracks. Not sure how it is with the HL Models but on my Tamiya ones the Gearboxes have an _impressive_ amount of torque - Enough for my close to 6kg heavy, Tamiya Gearboxes, and exxtra wide Tracks with Cleats equipped E-100 ( th-cam.com/video/l3_RcOU3zo0/w-d-xo.html ) to perform a 360° on Carpet. At best an injury caused by them might just result in some stitches, at worst it might result in a dislocated joint / torn ligament.
Hi! Yes little fingers would not be good, even the plastic boxes can give you a good nip!. I let my little boy have a go, under supervision, I guess the good thing is it teaches him not to stick his fingers in moving things 🙂 Thanks for taking the time to comment, and sorry this is a tardy reply, works been nuts! Have a great week!
Hi! Try here, it’s the eBay site for Armoured models 🙂 www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165789884152?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=ep5cqI2-R6-&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=uZug9H3JSrC&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Good stuff, thanks for watching and saying hi! Have a great weekend!
Yep! I’ve got to do something to get people to watch! Most people watching my build vids have been know to go into a catatonic state!😂 but the bb units have got a hell of a lot stronger. Thanks for watching, and hopefully the build vids to this might help if you want to do the same. Have a great Sunday!
Hi! We did say that, but I don’t think I actually could part with them, especially the chally. Just have to smuggle them up the loft a bit more…. Thanks for watching, and the interest. Have a great day!
Hi Thanks for watching, and this channel is for improving heng long tanks, that cost £215 pounds, Tamiya £1200 and it’s not really that much better, they ask a lot of money for what you get. With Tamiya you get mechanical elevation and recoils, plastic nylon gears, not enough or no bearings, no effects, stabilisation is extra to buy dimensions are good, but in the tanks the details are not in-depth (the rear of the Abrams is stand off) there leopard is probably the best detail wise and heng long have copied it well 😉 the baskets on the HL are terrible. But £215.00 compared to £1200 I’ll make some better ones or buy the Tamiya sprue. I have a Tamiya tiger 1 in a box, dimensions are correct, but it needs bearings, better suspension, new gearboxes to get it to run realistically photo etch, elmod, it’s not servo recoil or elevation, slightly fancier mechanism than heng long, but not servo. A radio. If you want to spend that much, that’s great, £2000 plus, or you might as well save a bit more a get a 1/6th metal one. But not matter how much it costs, there all toys, because we play with them 🙂 Personally I think Tamiya for the cost needs to up there game and stop overcharging there customers for what you get in the box. Have a great week.

it seems to have stopped the slop, and the stress on the final drives, and yes it does actually flipping hurt! 🤣

Nice HDR. I think it is a little too bright though, or oversaturated.

No probs. I am like that myself 😀. Love your videos.
Its a Toy. Nothing more. For Kiddies to play.
When you want a Tank Model for grownUps, go to the Tamiya Shelf. Its worth every Penny.
