Sarah is UNREAL with names. Is she like that IRL too? Ive seen this entire series like 6 times and still cant remember most of the side character names. When Sarah did her solo watchthrough she would remember every character's name *that episode* and I remember being so shocked about it
It's a real life thing. She doesn't forget anything. It's actually crazy. She is like that with her own matches. She can almost recap an entire match. It's really impressive.
Okay, but I hella appreciate Adam taking the time to note that it's over after one game and how much stress that would put on a coach. I've seen haikyuu so many times and I've literally never thought about that before. And I LOVE every time Sarah looks at the camera referencing something she can't talk about. There's just so many gems you get to appreciate with a rewatch

I have a feeling his house will end up more consistently filled with great personalities than Sarah’s 😂. As for Adam wanting to see training sequences, they are coming so just a little patience. am honestly shocked Takeda sensei isnt in the love or bro how.. he knows nothing about volleyball but is hustling his butt off for the team and is so underated as a motivation for the team
After watching this show so many times, I just realized now that in the same episode Ukai mentioned not letting other people call them "flightless crows" anymore and then Kiyoko showed up with the "Fly" banner. That's so meaningful. It's almost like a symbolism saying that this team will definitely take off.
I have been rewatching some of the previous episodes and I really love how much attention Coach Ukai and Takeda are getting from you guys. Great episode I'll be looking forward to every week until the show is over.

Takeda is the advisor so he's paid by the school (but probably not much beyond his salary as a teacher) but Ukai is not on the school's payroll. So I love that Adam put him in the bro house.

Anyway I can't believe Adam completely ignored Michimiya and Daichi's interaction but he paid extra attention to Yamaguchi and Shimizu's nonexistent ship ahshshs it was so funny. I can't think of anything super volleyball to say except the banner's are usually one of my favorite things about EVERY TEAM! they usually embody the symbolism, aura, themes, philosophy and even a bit of insight to the teams play style. I cant wait to hear Adam's 2 cents about every teams strategies, compositions, and player. Ugh! i"m thinking of all the banners! so excited! So far we've seen connect( nekoma) and fly(our guys)

I feel like the reason why so many people never assumed Yamaguchi and Kiyoko were going on a secret date but you two did might be because they've seen enough anime to know the general tropes when it comes to romance. Unless its a romance anime specifically, the "pretty hard to approach upperclassmen" type character would basically never go out with a freshman, especially if they have been primarily a background character so far. Anime that don't focus on romance will rarely have couples officially form until some end-of-series "x years later" epilogue.

Ukai is just a 26 year old guy (born in 1986 according to the official guidebook and the series takes place from 2012-2013) dedicating his time to these boys and Takeda is just a faculty supervisor that knows nothing about volleyball, but both are doing their best to give the boys their best shot at Nationals! I love them so much🥰 I think Sarah should definitely add characters to her love house retroactively! Now that you're on a second watch, you'll be able to get a better read on characters than your first go 'round.

So almost analogous to the 50 U.S. States, but not quite. Plus, total Japanese national population is roughly 1/3 that of the US (very dense population in Japan, given the territorial size difference). Kinda surprised that Adam didn’t flag Kageyama’s eagerness to learn Asahi’s preferred set, but I know there’s a lot going on 😂 I love these slice of life episodes where you just get the world building and character interactions with each other. It’s one of the things Haikyuu does best in comparison to other sports anime imo. Also I don’t know if it’s the music or that I’ve watched Haikyuu too many times but Hinata counting his first loss to Kageyama and Kageyama saying they’re taking their first step to their goals of being the best TOGETHER kinda chokes me up a bit every time
One of my favorite scenes in the whole anime is the “Fly” banner, not just how touching the situation is but how ridiculous the tears squirt out of the eyes 😂😂
In this episode, you can also see Kageyama already knew how far he wants to go as a volleyball player. That explains all of his actions, how eager he was, is, and will to be the best.

But after anime, I really recommend the manga, so much more story there. Plus I think the finale for the anime will not cover the very last part of the manga (which I think is important for my closure haha)

This is one of the best set up episodes in anime, the emotion and ramp up is great. One of my favorite things is Hinata counting the draw as a loss. Also Daichi knowing Kiyoko isn't done talking shows how well he knows/can read her. Adam don't worry, we get to see training.

Close, but I think it’s 43 ‘regular’ prefectures and 4 ‘special’ prefectures (Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Hokkaido) for a total of 47 prefecture-type administrative units. So almost analogous to the 50 U.S. States, but not quite. Plus, total Japanese national population is roughly 1/3 that of the US (very dense population in Japan, given the territorial size difference). So maybe think of Japan’s national stuff to be 1/3~1/2 the scale of American national stuff?

I love these slice of life episodes where you just get the world building and character interactions with each other. It’s one of the things Haikyuu does best in comparison to other sports anime imo. Also I don’t know if it’s the music or that I’ve watched Haikyuu too many times but Hinata counting his first loss to Kageyama and Kageyama saying they’re taking their first step to their goals of being the best TOGETHER kinda chokes me up a bit every time

But after anime, I really recommend the manga, so much more story there. Plus I think the finale for the anime will not cover the very last part of the manga (which I think is important for my closure haha)

This is one of the best set up episodes in anime, the emotion and ramp up is great. One of my favorite things is Hinata counting the draw as a loss. Also Daichi knowing Kiyoko isn't done talking shows how well he knows/can read her.
