It's also a very rational conclusion to come to. If you're not incredibly clued in to the emotional beats the team is giving off it's definitely the most likely reason for a star player to be missing. I remember thinking the exact same thing since they go half the episode before they explain anything. The team is clearly sad about it, but a bad injury to their main guy could easily get that reaction.
Yeah it's a brilliant line for kageyama because he'd only stop playing volleyball if he physically could not play due to injury, it shows his utter passion for the sport and sometimes doesn't understand when others don't have the same level of dedication he does

I never understand why people get upset at reaction videos where they don't pause lmao. Like, what is the point if they don't pause? I mean, if they miss something because of it, sure, that may be slightly annoying. But I'm here for the *reaction,* not what is being reacted to 😂
I prefer reactions that pauses rather than to keep on talking while the movie/series/anime is playing on the background, because those that don't often talk and then misses a lot of details
9:20 Adam loving the concept of "connecting" is a great indicator of just how good of a show choice Haikyuu is for him~ Also, the final conversation between (mostly) Asahi and Hinata is so lovely. Hinata's likely unaware of it at this point, but he's so good at finding the correct approach to Asahi, bringing up his good volleyball memories with Hinata's own vivid and relatable [for a spiker] impressions, which his sincerity brings up a notch. And even though it wasn't really necessary with Asahi, I love how he also acknowledges their difference in experience and skill before trying to draw parallels and show how they might be similar. Such a good exchange :")
Agree! Hinata is just so happy, pure, passionate and driven so a bit of a passive character like Asahi can easily get swept into his orbit and have the same motivation. This is the best thing I love about Hinata!
for someone who has a strong sense of responsibility, it is so easy to focus on the negatives. this makes Hinata's presence all the more important coz he reminds everyone of the good things and that gives them the push they need to bounce back.
I'm glad you brought it up !! Hinata is a sunshine and nothing he says is insincere, rude. He isn't looking down on anyone and makes sure to check his standing before he says anything. He barely started real volleyball with a real team but his enthusiasm and ability to grasp the emotions he feels directly is just so wholesome.
Adam makes the reaction so much better (not a critic of Sarah) simply because he knows Sarah so well. He brings out such different sides of Sarah. Without Adam, we would never have learned about the similarities between Sarah and Kageyama, or the dating stories, or that time Sarah's father kicked her out of the gym. Also, his perspective as a regular volleyball player and coach is so entertaining and insightful. The fact that he's still somewhat salty over Sarah turning him down as a teen never fails to make me smile. And we demand Sarah's reaction to the Matrix!

The sharing kanji across generations is a common thing in Japanese families. I know a guy named HIDEyuki whose father is YoshiHIDE, and YOSHIhide's father was YOSHIhiko (emphasis added to make shared kanji obvious).

And having two different perspectives conversing about the topics creates a great dialogue that is super entertaining. I think so far only Adam that understand perfectly the personality of Hinata and Oikawa. Yes Hinata wanted to beat/defeat people but here in this case he's curious to see how Ace play volleyball. What does it take to be an Ace. With expressive personality Hinata will show you clearly when He really wanted to beat someone.

Sarah, sometimes I feel that you are trying to get the best reaction from Adam for us, and we can see that sometimes you are expecting Adam to have a similar reaction/viewpoint to what you were thinking. But, for us viewers, it is OKAY for Adam to have his own different reactions to the scenes. It doesn't mean that he is right and you are wrong, it just means that he has a different viewpoint. Sometimes all these tiny conflicts come about because you expect Adam to react the same way you do, but most of the times he just share a completely different POV. Maybe instead of going back and forth as to what the characters are doing and trying to decide what is the most suitable reaction to have, why not just have a shared space where both can state and explain your viewpoints. If they are completely different, its fine too :) WE STILL LOVE THE SERIES BTW !! AND WE APPRECIATE YOU GUYS FOR DOING THIS !! 😊😊

Impressed by Adam's comment about geniuses and coaching ability (i.e. that geniuses seem to innately "get" what a technique or skill is about, which can make it hard for a mortal to understand when a genius tries to explain it to them - I dub this the Maradona Effect). All of this before the Ukai's discussion at the end of the season 4~
Next episode is one of the ones I'm most excited about Adam seeing. "SUGAAAAAAAA!!!" The way Asahi's shoulders are set when he's remembering Kageyama and Hinata's speeches always gets the goosebumps going.

As former players and history with coaching, do you think that Hinata approach would work in a common scenario? I mean, Asahi personality does not look usual within his position. So what would be likely to happen? And maybe this general type of outside hitter would not quit like Asahi did so that's a good previous consideration to the discussion.
I think this is very interesting question. I think failure, the feeling of letting your teammates down and losing confidence affects every person differently. If you add this to the fact that it's high school sports and the athletes don't have a lot of perspective or other experience to learn from, I think predicting someones reaction to situations like this is very difficult.
About what Hinata said to Asahi about wanting to play with the ace, from the tone of his voice and facial expressions I think it is closer to what Adam mentioned😅 Of course Hinata does want to become the Ace but at least for that conversation it came more from an admiration stand point than a “I want to replace you” stand point 💦 After watching 8 episodes worth of Adam’s reaction, I’m starting to think there are going to be moments as a woman we might not quite understand the dynamics or emotions what teenage boys are like but Adam will cause he once was😆 And as a coach has seen so many as well!
I think Hinata is best at giving their people their flowers. Like he really isn't afraid to tell someone what he admires about them bc he loves volleyball so much. ugh i love this show. Admittedly I don't come back to season one often, but rewatching it with yall has been such a pleasure. Please pause to your hearts content

I watched another reaction video (not Haikyuu) recently and the reactors just went “wow..” “cool” every few seconds and I realized how much I enjoyed the pauses and thoughts and talks on Sarah’s channel! Maybe because I’ve already seen Haikyuu and know what’s gonna happen. What I want to know is what other people think of the parts I love! And Sarah pauses and shares thoughts so well! Every friday 11am routine 😄: watching couple's reaction to haikyuu Loved Adam's attention to some details/scenes. He's starting to get hooked hehe. And I will always love u Sarah especially the little glances to Adam and to the camera when some good scenes going to happen! Its like we two have something we knew and we're waiting for his reaction to it! 😄 Can't wait for next week and to the future uploads! I always thought of the Ace the same way as the Anchor of a swim team or race, the one you call in when things are looking tough. Also, I like a good man bun and I love Noya's personality.
Maybe it's because it's getting closer to Halloween. Or because Coach Ukai was brought up so much, but Adam could totally pull off old and young ukai as a Halloween Costume.

As former players and history with coaching, do you think that Hinata approach would work in a common scenario? I mean, Asahi personality does not look usual within his position. So what would be likely to happen? And maybe this general type of outside hitter would not quit like Asahi did so that's a good previous consideration to the discussion.
I think this is very interesting question. I think failure, the feeling of letting your teammates down and losing confidence affects every person differently. If you add this to the fact that it's high school sports and the athletes don't have a lot of perspective or other experience to learn from, I think predicting someones reaction to situations like this is very difficult.

About what Hinata said to Asahi about wanting to play with the ace, from the tone of his voice and facial expressions I think it is closer to what Adam mentioned😅
Of course Hinata does want to become the Ace but at least for that conversation it came more from an admiration stand point than a “I want to replace you” stand point 💦
After watching 8 episodes worth of Adam’s reaction, I’m starting to think there are going to be moments as a woman we might not quite understand the dynamics or emotions what teenage boys are like but Adam will cause he once was😆 And as a coach has seen so many as well!

I like how much you pause to talk about the show as things happen! I watched another reaction video (not Haikyuu) recently and the reactors just went “wow..” “cool” every few seconds and I realized how much I enjoyed the pauses and thoughts and talks on Sarah’s channel! Maybe because I’ve already seen Haikyuu and know what’s gonna happen. What I want to know is what other people think of the parts I love! And Sarah pauses and shares thoughts so well! Also, the banter and anecdotes about Sarah and Adam’s lives are some of my favorite bits 😂 Keep up the great work Sarah and Adam!

Loved Adam's attention to some details/scenes. He's starting to get hooked hehe. And I will always love u Sarah especially the little glances to Adam and to the camera when some good scenes going to happen! Its like we two have something we knew and we're waiting for his reaction to it! 😄

I always thought of the Ace the same way as the Anchor of a swim team or race, the one you call in when things are looking tough. Also, I like a good man bun and I love Noya's personality.
Maybe it's because it's getting closer to Halloween. Or because Coach Ukai was brought up so much, but Adam could totally pull off old and young ukai as a Halloween Costume.
Damn it, I desperately want a new episode every day, it's to hard to wait :/
