It's a classic costume. I really appreciate the devs for pulling from source material. Her malice comic is news enough to go read it, and it's pretty good. I love that the devs are willing to be bold, and it's a breath of fresh air.
And it's not like the costume is a 100% copy. They added their own flair that actually covers more than the actual comic suit. So what's the problem really?
They very well could do that in the future but the game is still pretty new and im sure they wanna space out what skins they add. There are some big ones for other characters that still aren't in either, like Spider-Man doesn't even have the black suit yet.
11:19 Given all the ridiculous costumes comics have thrown at us, it's really funny that all of a sudden we're supposed to see a skimpy outfit and think _now_ it's gone too far.
14:37 wolverine's weapon x outfit is not the same a sue's malice costume one was intended to to show power and strength as in "look how muscular this guy is" and the other was made mainly for fan service and to look sexy
Eh while yes the Malice costume was fan service it actually served a purpose in the story. If you go back and read the story it is clear that Sue has some suppressed issues that Psycho Man uses his powers to turn against the Fantastic Four. Two of which is her repressed self esteem (calling back to the early issues of the F4 where Sue gets fan letters that say she can't be a female superhero despite Reed himself thinking of her as the strongest member) and sexual desire (which may have also been heightened by the miscarriage she recently gone through at the time). So yes it can provide fan service AND be used to further empathisize the story (though even the Marvel writers seemed to miss this nuance as a later story tries to retcon Malice as something wrong and alien to Susan Storm).
I have no issue with the Malice costume. It’s honestly well adapted and re-designed and still pays homage to the origins. HOWEVER. My is the double standards. If Sue can have her breast float while she’s sitting and her ass jiggle while she jumps then my (and her) boy Namor should be allowed to be a slut too, give him a thong that exposes 3/4 of those cheeks, pulsating breast and shaped cake with jiggle physics over whatever shorts and square bum that his current skins with less sex appeal than a rock have now. It’s only what is true to his character. And if it makes someone uncomfortable… unpack those feelings or don’t buy it lol
Wasn’t wolverine mind controlled, experimented on, and exploited when he was wearing that costume? I would argue that look is wolverine at one of those lowest and worst portions of his life.
Sometimes the gooners make me want to roll my eyes, but really it's not that serious. Let people have their fun . The world is a harsh place and life is too short. Great video by the way👍
Unrelated to the video, but since Jason Mamoa has been recently cast as Lobo I'd love a Nando Cut dive into that character, even tho he usually does them for Marvel because of Marvel Snap.

Cosmetics are just that... cosmetics. Something sexy can be cool, and Malice looks COOL. People getting awkward playing it or seeing it are sexually awkward and that has nothing to do with the game or the design itself, it's a personal flaw. If you can't see something sexy without feeling uncomfortable you need to wrap your head around some things...
Great video Nando! Always a pleasure watching. A lot of people are misunderstanding/misrepresenting what people are saying about Sue's Malice skin and some of the other alt. skins for female characters in the game. It's not a problem that they're sexy, it's not even really a problem that they're unrealistic -- the only issue is the disproportionality in the sex appeal of the male skins and female skins. Relatively few of the male hero designs/skins seem to appeal to what women find sexually appealing, and instead lean far more into a male power fantasy design philosophy. This isn't an absolute rule in he game of course -- Bast's Chosen Black Panther skin and the MCU Namor skin and a couple of the Winter Soldier skins feel like they better fit that sort of 'female gaze' philosophy. On the flip side, not too many of the female characters feel like they were necessarily designed as a female power fantasy (Wanda, Mantis, and Magik in their base forms might be some of the better examples of a kind of female power fantasy philosophy as opposed to a male sexual gaze philosophy). People enjoy playing as sexy characters, but they don't always enjoy playing as objectified characters. When a player chooses to equip the Malice skin, that isn't Sue Storm herself enjoying her own sexual liberation -- it's a real person dressing up a digital doll to best tickle their sexual curiosities. And that's fine! The only proposed changes I've heard from people talking about the Malice skin or the Psylocke skin are that male characters need comparable sexualization (visible bulges, emphasized buttocks, more diverse body types, etc.) by doing things like implementing more such skins (swimsuit edition comes to mind xD) or to design sexy female costumes with female empowerment in mind, just like how many of the male costumes already in the game are very form-fitting or even revealing while still appealing more to a male power fantasy than a female sexual gaze. Again, sexiness is great, the only problem is that currently it's straight male fans getting catered too the most. Is that more economically viable? Perhaps. Is that a valid artistic choice? Of course. Is it what everyone will want? No. Should people be talking about this? Why not, it's a fun and interesting subject that gets people thinking. Should people be complaining? People can and will do whatever they want forever so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Honestly that was clear from the start with picking Galacta as the game's narrator in the first place instead of The Watcher or Madame Web or The Beyonder or He Who Remains or any of the numerous other characters it could have been
The comics it's based on is one of my favorites (albeit I haven't actually read a whole lot of the comics), and I don't understand the hate about it. Honestly, I've never understood why people hate when women show skin in video games. Like when the Laura Croft devs nerfed her assets. WOMEN CAN BE POWERFUL AND SHOW OFF!! Saying all that I do think there is a line when fanservice becomes too much. At times I do get annoyed with how woman look and act in media, but I mean it's Marvel! Hopefully we get some guys in fanservice suits. As long as it's not just the women I don't have an issue. Like at all. Also it was a different time. The fanservice in the game is actually way less then the comics. If they had just copy and pasted the comic suit I might of been mad too. lol
If you want an example of a male character dressed kind of risqué, Beast fans get a lot of incidental fan service since most artists keep putting him in what is basically just spandex briefs. I think that when they were first making the character and his outfit, they just assumed no one would be interested in the big hairy guy in *that* way. They were super wrong 😋
X-Men 97 also had Bastion's choice (as in THAT WAS A CHOICE) to strip Magneto down to just a speedo in captivity. People would pay good money to play Rivals as Speedo Magneto.
you really think so? it could be really funny, but idk how many people would want to spend money on a skin like that. Plus a speedo is just not as aesthetically cool as Malice.
It's 1400/1600 fake bucks, which I think translates to $16 real bucks, but you can easily get that amount just from playing the game. I've played it for two and a half weeks, and I have 2100 fake bucks.
By discussing the history of the skin and the character attached as well as the other options for skins and why they don't work super well. This isn't overwatch where the skins exist solely on their own. These characters have fast histories
Some people want to be the insanely beutiful, scantily clad pawns of Psycho man. Other people want be kings of technocratic monarchies with mountains for foreheads. In the end, we're all humans down here.
Same thing as mortal kombat a few years back. The costumes dont matter, so long as they have underpants n some form of chest covering idgaf, Kitana has never been made less of a warrior or less of a princess because of her attire, and her story and character development/relation to other characters remain important and poignant. Invincible has always been either in skin tight suits, half naked or in the former, but almost as torn as Rogue’s in that example. Yes some costumes can feel a little “exploitative” or “indecent”, but we are not the writers- if SOME version of Reed is willing to do deliberately villainous things, SOME version of Sue is willing to wear that shit lol. And now they both in the game
Is there an evil persona of The Human Torch (Johnny Storm) and The Thing (Ben Grimm)? Not sure what kind of alternative costumes they would use for those characters in Marvel Rivals.
Bring up the opposite extreme spectrum side really sell . The devs even put out the #comics issues which they took the reference from. Meaning that people also will check out the comics to know the sources eventhough it's has been decades.
honestly I get it but I find the thirsting over this game’s characters to be really annoying. I love the reference but think the skin looks terrible, but it’s flying off the shelves because of weird gooners with 0 regard for the history
Making a Malice costume on its own is… a choice. But the design of the bottom of the costume specifically is a very specific choice with a very clear intention. That’s what bothers me about it.
That's what I said. Ok, kinda conspiracy theory but wrapped in truth: Unlike Blizzard, they want us to spread... Art, if you know what I mean. It's what got so many people interested, or at least hearing about, Overwatch. They make skins and character designs the way they do, AND the renders are... A little too curvy. Yeah, they know their audience.
@sidecharacter3193 Hey, man. If you wanna goon out, just say so. But, that's what's happening. They know what you want. We can have sexy characters in games, but don’t pretend like you don't pick them because they specifically look that way, gooner.
I had the same issue with the psylocke skin lol, I think it looks amazing and so cool, but I also feel weird buying it because of all the weird people thirsting over her
Gosh, that costume of other designs is any indication that shows that the design team is extremely thirsty at times when designing some female characters and their alternate costumes and this sue costume is like the team is going like yeah we're thristy so what. It is interesting that it is from the comics, although a more obscure version of her
id say malice in the game is much more conservative than malice in the comic lmao. also, i really dont mean to go there, but have you seen some of the male costumes..?
@@jabari.nthe male outfits haven’t gone too suggestive admittedly it’s there but comparing hulk to malice there is a difference on the intent, if havok ever gets in goblin prince would probably be a priority
Back off of Marvels, kids. Ya'll got your Scoliosis-booty-back characters in Overwatch. This here Marvel game is for us, the fans. Those people are just extremely jealous that every fan in marvel is getting service 🤤 While they have Overwatch 2🤷♂
If I have to be real the whole Malice thing sounds dumb. I mean it's neat the costume got into the game, I guess, but the story behind it just sounds convoluted.
16:29 who cares? The people who matter knows you're not. In fact, you may just be the only person online who made an in depth video on the costume. It's not hurting anyone to buy the skin
It would be hilarious to watch the awful mental gymnastics he puts himself through to rationalize that position. This dude mentions that in like, every video I've ever seen him make. Why anybody takes him seriously when he'll defend a trashfire like the She-Hulk show is totally beyond me. It really does warrant an explanation, it's such a clear indication of a person with utterly horrible taste, and even more baffling that he feels the need to mention it so often. Probably just being a contrarian, or he does truly just have terrible taste. I mean, ffs, this dude started a website with uber-dipshit Patrick Willems, among other TH-camrs who seem to think they're funny or entertaining, despite being the furthest thing from either.
This one feels strange to me, Psylocke is a bit of goonerbait, but it’s very in character. Sue just feels so overly sexualized and it’s feels so out of character
Didn't this Chinese studio (I think) pretty much copy Overwatch? That series became synonymous with what you described as 'goonerbait', so it all feels very predictably pandering.
I completely agree that Sue seems overly sexualized even in her base skin but honestly, they don't have much to work with. Her comic design really communicates nothing besides "I'm on the fantastic four and I have boobs."
Fun fact susan storm was offered so many modeling jobs in the comics and many kings and rulers wanted her And even the skrull emperor wanted her as his concubine/ wife
@Panimal98 yeah I know right I actually like the character and think her move set would be perfect for a game like this but at least date miners have show that she on the eventual list of characters so I guess it's just a waiting game
Just buy the skin if u like it, she look like a demon. Sure she got the cheeks out but let's be real, it looks so good because the one from the comics looked like.... not good
She looks nice idk why people are complaining about the costume I bought it because they animated her ass move up and down with gravity as she jumps. They’re all sexualized they’re superheros they’re all sexed up (As Amanda Waller said). I guess it’s her normal personality and the more reserved nature of the fantastic 4 suits that are setting people off cause Psylock’s is just as revealing and she’s rather popular with women.
It's clear to me that this is just another one of those fake rage-bait controversies made to generate clicks and get people all worked up about "wokeness" and imagined censorship. Nando, you didn't actually cite or quote a single person in this video actually complaining about the costume. Having seen other vids on this subject that use actual quotes, as far as I can tell a single no-name rando complained about the costume ONCE on a reddit thread and then EVERYONE ELSE lost their minds over it. There was never any actual movement or attempt to censor the costume. It's a great costume, but it's not worth losing your collective minds over. I'm a little embarrassed for you for buying into a fake controversy Nando, though I know it's easy views so I wont hold it against you for taking the lazy route.

It's not an issue don't worry about it bro
They have done this with Mercy, the Devil/demon skin. And yea, it is weird
Is there an evil persona of The Human Torch (Johnny Storm) and The Thing (Ben Grimm)? Not sure what kind of alternative costumes they would use for those characters in Marvel Rivals.
Maybe dark flames for Johnny and black rock skin for Ben? IDK.
Bring up the opposite extreme spectrum side really sell . The devs even put out the #comics issues which they took the reference from. Meaning that people also will check out the comics to know the sources eventhough it's has been decades.
"She don't have a lot of alternative costumes" me looking respectfully at Sue Storm Madam Hydra costume, pet wolverine included, from Exiles 🥺
honestly I get it but I find the thirsting over this game’s characters to be really annoying. I love the reference but think the skin looks terrible, but it’s flying off the shelves because of weird gooners with 0 regard for the history
Man everyone loves Sue Storm a lot.
Gooners also tend to be whales. That’s why 🤷🏽♀️
I see Sue’s gooner skin. I click.
Making a Malice costume on its own is… a choice. But the design of the bottom of the costume specifically is a very specific choice with a very clear intention. That’s what bothers me about it.
I don't know about bothers, but it certainly does SOMETHING to a part of me and I don't dislike it.
@@Panimal98or you know maybe cause it’s comics
I mean why are the men so overly v shaped and buff yknow that’s not what real guys are like either
@sidecharacter3193 Hey, man. If you wanna goon out, just say so. But, that's what's happening. They know what you want. We can have sexy characters in games, but don’t pretend like you don't pick them because they specifically look that way, gooner.
I had the same issue with the psylocke skin lol, I think it looks amazing and so cool, but I also feel weird buying it because of all the weird people thirsting over her
6:28 most comic book thing ever 😭
Gosh, that costume of other designs is any indication that shows that the design team is extremely thirsty at times when designing some female characters and their alternate costumes and this sue costume is like the team is going like yeah we're thristy so what. It is interesting that it is from the comics, although a more obscure version of her
not obscure at all. you just dont read the comics or watch the fantastic four animated series that adapted the malice storyline.
id say malice in the game is much more conservative than malice in the comic lmao. also, i really dont mean to go there, but have you seen some of the male costumes..?
@@jabari.nthe male outfits haven’t gone too suggestive admittedly it’s there but comparing hulk to malice there is a difference on the intent, if havok ever gets in goblin prince would probably be a priority
It makes my wee wee feel weird, don't need to know more
It's definitely the thirstiest skin, but it's also well-designed. It's just... Funny but obvious why they included it, first.
I love these vids. Id love to see some more FF vids too!!!
The 90s were pretty wack. I say that as someone who read and collected during them. I mean... Marvel put out swimsuit issues for several years.
Back off of Marvels, kids. Ya'll got your Scoliosis-booty-back characters in Overwatch. This here Marvel game is for us, the fans. Those people are just extremely jealous that every fan in marvel is getting service 🤤 While they have Overwatch 2🤷♂
Go back to bed granpa. The meds will be coming in another 30 minutes.
If I have to be real the whole Malice thing sounds dumb. I mean it's neat the costume got into the game, I guess, but the story behind it just sounds convoluted.
You see... Old comics
16:29 who cares? The people who matter knows you're not. In fact, you may just be the only person online who made an in depth video on the costume. It's not hurting anyone to buy the skin
Thankfully the gooners who have no desire to get better at the game aren’t gonna be plaguing ranked
players at the top of the global leaderboard are using this skin XD
I play exclusively comp and use the malice skin lol
14:59 do a video on why you love she Hulk
I always figured the malice stories were just the artists excuse to put her in S&M gear
Why not Thundra? :)
Bruh, what do toy think the purpose of a skin is?
I completely agree that Sue seems overly sexualized even in her base skin but honestly, they don't have much to work with. Her comic design really communicates nothing besides "I'm on the fantastic four and I have boobs."
Please…read some comics. Malice is even in animated series
Marvel rivals wants the "ive never touched a woman" audience
Really hope things alternate costume is just a trench coat and fedora
It's a gooner game. That's all there is to it.
comic accurate and the simple answer.. Money $$$
It’s a just a skin for a video game
Damn Sue a baddie, still never gonna play it though
Fun fact susan storm was offered so many modeling jobs in the comics and many kings and rulers wanted her
And even the skrull emperor wanted her as his concubine/ wife
More like WHY NOT
Its smart businesses. Its a free game so most of the money will be spent on cosmetics.
When is captain Marvel coming to the game
I'm honestly surprised she isn't in the base game.
@Panimal98 yeah I know right I actually like the character and think her move set would be perfect for a game like this but at least date miners have show that she on the eventual list of characters so I guess it's just a waiting game
@@Panimal98guess netease didn’t care much about her as much as the others, I personally don’t mind it as the base is rather flavourful on their picks
"reading" about it...surreeeee
Just buy the skin if u like it, she look like a demon. Sure she got the cheeks out but let's be real, it looks so good because the one from the comics looked like.... not good
She looks nice idk why people are complaining about the costume I bought it because they animated her ass move up and down with gravity as she jumps. They’re all sexualized they’re superheros they’re all sexed up (As Amanda Waller said). I guess it’s her normal personality and the more reserved nature of the fantastic 4 suits that are setting people off cause Psylock’s is just as revealing and she’s rather popular with women.
Why? Money 😂
I'm a little embarrassed for you for buying into a fake controversy Nando, though I know it's easy views so I wont hold it against you for taking the lazy route.
yup a non controversy
Why is this even a conversation topic you have to search for it in the game its not juston the main menu
Why is this even a comment you have to click on the video?
