I loved the video. Only a cellist would know when to use each of the close ups, and it conveys well the physicality of playing the cello. Its a big instrument and it needs strength and subtlety to get the best from it. Visually well structured and told a story which enhanced the musical experience of listening to the music. And that is quite rare in classical music videos
This bow control😍
Best cello player
Stunning performance of the Crumb sonata. Sound quality superb, bowing exciting, lovely sense of space and time.
Metronomic precision and surgical accuracy, added to the bowing effortless mastery and pizz = Extraordinary performance. True inspiration. Felicitationes mi querido paisa Santiago.
Excelente qué sonoridad y exquisitez en su interpretación.
Bravo! thank you for sharing this underappreciated piece, and for interpreting it so beautifully!
brilliant - played i an empty church with only one candle lit so moving. Santiago.
BRAVO! --With best wishes from Switzerland--Ursula

o melhor violoncelista da atualidade
Technique. Passion . Mystere . Todo es perfecto .gracias
Круто сыграно и записано. Ранее не слышал это произведение Крамба. Меня поразило.
Gracias Santiago. Dios te bendiga.
Fantástica Música 🎶🎻
Triply stunning. The way you move through all those difficult passages, phrasing, dynamics, and that pizz. Add all that up plus great cinematography, and you got a masterpiece. Muchos Gracias.
hola Santiago, hermosa interpretacion, tu cello de quien luthier es? que procedencia?
I wonder how come you are not more famous ? Your playing is incredible. So much fluidity ... It seems so easy... when it definetely is not 😂🎉
WoW!
W.o.w.
Yo y'all. I have a all the respect in the world for this dude. I see he has won a lot of competitions and he has a lot of style and all that. But listen... Honestly after listening to this once I will put baroque music on a million times over... I could give a shit about being avant garde and listening to horror movie soundtracks. And I absolutely don't care what you think. I am going to go listen to some Gabrielli to get rid of the head ache I just got...somehow..
Brilliant playing Santiago! However, I’ve never been a fan of Crumb. Music is a language that is rooted in a distinct culture. Dvorak sounds Czech. Kolaly sounds Hungarian. Cassado sounds Spanish. Seems to me, Crumb spoke a musical language that was alien to most concert goers. I understand this view may be unpopular with many cellists. Just my two cents. Great cello playing though,
