    Very interesting and pleasing video. Mike's sleeves are the best for quality material and storage purposes, no completion out there. Definitely we need sleeves for box sets! Thank you for sharing. I wasn't aware you're a vaper! I have to send you some fused claptons I do in my lab.

    Mike and Mike I have been using Vinyl Solutions for around 10 months. Great products. Mike's attention to detail has resulted in a superior product. Is it a little more expensive yes, but the huge investment I have made in acquiring my collection I need his quality.
    The best thing is that Mike is always looking for a way to improve his products. Mike is a great guy and easy to deal with and open to suggestions. That is why I always have his back...

    Fantastic channel. I’ve been enjoying it for quite some time. We have similar collections and tastes. I’ve used VSS almost since he started. Best out there but the issue has been the lack of larger ones. Glad he is launching the new 13x13 double LP ones. I prefer those. I just don’t use the doubles like you with the sealable strip although I did on a few. The side pockets are great. For the box sets, Bags Unlimited in Rochester, NY have the larger box sets with flaps both a small and large version and they launched a much larger 15x14 a few months ago with the flap which easily fit the MOFI One Steps, AP UHQRs and even larger box sets like the Kraftwerk Boxset, etc. It at least protects them while we wait for Mike to come out with his. Mit freundliche Grusßen und vielen Dank!

    Vinyl Storage Solutions should be your one-stop-shop if you are wanting the best protection both inner and outer sleeves! I too use the 4mil dual pocket sleeves and there is nothing on the market to compare! I also use their inner rice paper sleeves and at least as good as MOFI if not better! Plus if you order like I do a hundred inner and outer they will ship your order to the US for free! Impossible to beat!

    Nearly my whole collection is in VSS. My gatefolds, if not thin, go into single pocket 5 mil from Sleeve City. Been looking forward to the new oversized, dual pocket, single tuck.
    Your 4 mil dual pocket, single tuck is the best outer on the market. There’s no danger of catching the exposed flaps when sliding in and out of the stacks like on the resealable tape versions. Plus, the disc itself is slightly elevated in it’s pocket, thereby only the jacket is making contact with the shelf it’s slid in and out of. All around MVP 👌🏼

  • @TheMrMoosy
    @TheMrMoosy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm using outer sleeves made of archival polyester (mylar): exceptional clarity, UV protection, no discoloration, also passed the photo activity test and very sturdy over polypropylene. However, mylar is pricey and dual pocket is not an option at the moment so I might give this product line a try. I see nothing but positive reviews. Thanks for the video.

    Hi Michael, can you share how you store your records that are inside a box set like a One Step, etc.? Do you store them outside of the box placed in the same 4 mil double pocket sleeves but add a blank cardboard sleeve inside? How many records per sleeve? Or something else. Thanks for explaining.

    Hi, Just when you thought all those questions would now go away, another one!!!! I am very interested in placing an order with Vinyl Storage Solutions so thank you for highlighting it to us. I can't help but notice though most of the time you hold up a LP I see quite a bit of extra bits of plastic hanging off the sleeves (at the seams). It doesn't bother you or doesn't catch on fabrics, etc.?

      in my experience this situation you describe isnt the norm. it's an exception. as with varying labels and printing manufacturers - not all jackets are the exact same side. the overhang of outer sleeve material happens on certain jackets that are shorter on their width. i'd say maybe only 5 or 6 out of 100 lps had this issue. and when it did, it didn't seem to be any bother in a physical way. the only caveat was the visual aesthetic. also, please note that you can put jackets into these sleeves vertically or horizontally. some jackets only fit one way or the other. and in the case of gatefolds - if you use two sleeves they have to be put on horizontally. this issue doesnt occur if you store a normal/single jacket in the sleeve vertically - ie, with the flap at the bottom of the jacket. it only occurs if you put the jacket in from the side with the closed end of the outer sleeve on the right side of the jacket face. hope that helps!

    • @StuartMcFarlane
      @StuartMcFarlane 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NotedArchived Thanks Michael. What I was referring to mainly was the extra little "stringy bits" on the seams and corners I noticed a number of times when Michael held up an album. I wasn't really commenting on the dimensions of the sleeves just the extra stuff Michael referred to as angel hair. Cheers, S.

    • @NotedArchived
      @NotedArchived 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StuartMcFarlane ah, i see. it seems you're referring to these tiny strands of material that remain after the sleeves are separated and sealed in the manufacturing process. these are minimal and can simply be pulled away with no damage to the sleeve. i ordered 300 sleeves and only had a little bit of this stuff. maybe on 10-15 sleeves. no problem at all. just pull away and discard. i liken it to a speck of dust. hope that's helpful.

    I myself use the so-called "japan plastic sleeves" for the recordcover, and then I put it in a plastic sleeve with the dimensions 325 x 325 mm. Works exactly as it does in the video above, though much cheaper.
