The first Front Mission series software for PlayStation. While the previous game was 2D with pixel art, this game's maps, wanzers, battle scenes, etc. are 3D with full polygons. This is the second work in the official Front Mission series (third work if you include ``FRONT MISSION SERIES GUN HAZARD''). Jun Sueya is in charge of character design.
After that, ``Front Mission History'' was released in 2003, and re-released as a cheaper version ``Ultimate Hits'' in 2006. These are different from the regular version, with a ``simplified battle mode'' added. In 2008, distribution began as Game Archives. The content is almost the same version as the two works mentioned above, but the PlayStation 3 is installed on the HDD, and the PlayStation Portable is installed and read on a memory stick, so the loading time from the CD-ROM, which was a problem with this work (See loading time) is now gone and you can play comfortably.
The catchphrase is "The front lines are once again under fire."
story
In June 2102, in the O.C.U. Aroldesh People's Republic (currently the People's Republic of Bangladesh) in South Asia, which is suffering from poverty due to the development of the OCU (Oceana Cooperative Union), the soldiers of the Aroldesh army, lamenting the plight of their homeland, rise up all at once. The ``revolutionary army'' led by Lieutenant Colonel Ven-McCarje of the Aroldesh army took control of government-related facilities and OCU military facilities, and declared independence from OCU. Ash, a native of Aroldesh and a member of the OCU Coastal Defense Force, is forced to become involved in the battle against the Revolutionary Army, and in the course of the battle, he meets Thomas, a captain in the ground forces, Salibash, a patriot who is the boss of an international smuggling organization, and Leeza, a member of the intelligence department. He eventually learns about his own fate and the conspiracy behind the coup.
