Thanks Fenna! You are so honest and straightforward, I really appreciate it. Your journey to becoming a photographer closely resembles mine as well, I hope I could be as successful as you are.
Thank you Fenna! I would like to also know how you deal with "challenging" or "difficult" clients. So maybe that could be a topic in your future video..:) Thank you!!
Thank you very much you are just so great for doing all this. I m just starting my photography business and thanks to you I feel much more confident and calm abt all that. 🙏❤️
Dear Fenna, thank you for another great video. I saw this one long time ago but came back to it as I'm trying to design a gift voucher. Could you please tell me what program did you use to make yours? They are so beautiful and informative. TIA
Hi Patricia, I have special videos where I'm showing my light setup. I use speedlights and a 50 inch softbox. You can see it here: th-cam.com/video/riavZ_ygoWs/w-d-xo.html and here: th-cam.com/video/k_G-pLai-Lw/w-d-xo.html
Thank you so much for this video ❤️ I would looove a video about all the boring practical stuff of starting a photography business. It all feels rather overwhelming with tax, accountants and so on 🙈
I love your videos! I am just a beginner, but in the future, after I specialize, I want to focus on newborn photography. What kind of classes/workshop did you take to specialize yourself in newborn?
Hi Fenna! I like the idea of having small cards with 10 % discount clients can take with them and give to friends etc but I wonder how to response if the client ask to get 10 % for them self, how should i deal with that, do you have an advice? Thank you for all your inspiration and help! All the best from Kamilla, Norway
Hi Fenna, I have become a big fan of your videos. They are very inspiring. Even though this video is old, I hope you get to see this comment and provide a feedback. I am currently doing all sort of photography as well to experience them and seek what may suit better. I am early 40s and a male photographer. I did several maternity sessiona and a few cake smash but never a newborn. I am comfortable with kids, mom ans family. I think these 3 are great combinations to offer to client. Would you suggest a male photog be equally successful in newborn photogrqphy? What challenges do you see can I face? Thanks in advance.
I just adore watching your videos! Your an amazing photographer! I would love to speak with you by email or phone if that’s ok. Please reach out and I know your really busy, but I’d love to ask you a few questions
Thanks Fenna! Loved this video! If only 5 images are included then do you only use those five images in blog post or do you post more in blog post? If so, do parents steal those photos? Some of your clients don’t allow any filming or to show images but you have many pictures in your flyers and business cards. So how do you keep track of which ones allow it and which don’t? I’m having a hard time keeping track of mine. Do you name your images/folders differently or organize them into model release / no model release?
Hi Angelique, I often post a lot more than 5 images in a blogpost and I don't think my clients steal these. When I place pictures online I use a smaller resolution and I place my logo quite large on the picture. Also, with my blogpost I usually post them long after the clients have chosen their pics, paid for them and received them. I'm usually quite behind on posting pics :) My clients fill out booking forms where they give permission (or not). When I name the folder, I write behind the name 'not online' if I don't have permission. I use this as a reminder and before posting or using the pics I quickly look up their booking form to double-check.
Thanks Fenna :) can I ask have you ever done a model call and if so how did you approach that ? my studio is my home at the moment I would like to move to a studio eventually so I can keep my home life away from my work but for now its all I can afford to do we all have to start somewhere I suppose :) ..
Hi Chrissy, I have done model calls in the past, especially when I was building a new portfolio (e.g. sitter sessions). I had a studio in and next to our home as well and I think it's okay, as long as you have some kind of separation. It saves a lot of money. I wouldn't mind having a studio next to our home again, as long as it's a bigger studio and it has a separate entrance and toilet as well.
@@FennaPhotography Thankyou Fenna I have a huge area to shoot in our home which is flooded with natural light I adore natural light but I'm wanting to learn more about flash as when its dark raining outside I struggle slightly with light :) so yer flash will be something to learn more about in the new year :) I'm going to do a model call for little sitters I've done a few but I need more to learn :) I've never done a newborn I refuse to shoot them as I know nothing about how to poses ect..I would love to include babies into my photography so workshop is a must too..gosh so much to do and learn :) once again thank you for answering my question so very kind of you to take the time out of your busy life ..:)
I have a lot of videos in which I show you where I get my props and backdrops from. Some backdrops are from www.fotoachtergronden.nl and others from www.studiobackdrops.eu. Props I buy a lot from heartmade photography props
