I like the Digimon Mini a lot actually, I like that it actually functions more or less like a Digimon unlike the Tamagotchi Mini. I wish they weren't so expensive depending on the version.
just started looking into the v-pet side of digimon so this whole series has been very enlightening, looking into it it's a shame that these weren't more of a thing in the US but it's also hardly surprising. also it's odd to hear the Japanese names.
It’s actually dumb they weren’t. They all have decent gimmicks and a few of them were basically digivices since there wasn’t an anime. Like the Pendulum X. That thing was awesome. Bandai America in their infinite stupidity decided to reinvent a card game rather than import and translate the Japanese version like Konami and Nintendo successfully did, try to make their own toyline in Force Three (which is just three plastic bricks connected to each other) and then bring nothing of substance over. Heck? Most of the Digimon DIM don’t even exist in the States either. And they wonder why they lost Power Rangers... They could’ve easily imported the D-Cyber digivice (the Hong Kong Pendulum X), released the manga with Tokyopop and it could’ve worked, if they weren’t content with just importing the latter Vpets and translating the menus. At least the D-Cyber was less insane.
Any Chance for a new episode soon? I really want to learn about the burst! Thanks for these as always. I binged these during the pandemic and it helped me a lot while every day felt like groundhog's day.
I've been binging these the last few days between work. I remember a time when it was hard for me to get any info on v-pets and other japanese products, so THANK YOU! I need more digimon content in my life!
When my friend in Germany was trying to buy her first Digimon last year, she told me that the only version available to her country on Amazon was the Xros Wars Mini, somehow. I ended up mailing an English version 20th to her. It feels odd that, of all the v-pets to be available, it happened to be one of the most unusual. ^^;
@@dnullm She tried it, but then told me that it didn't work because they wouldn't ship to her. Luckily, it seems they later started selling English 20ths in Germany.
This series is super informative and great! As someone who's been a lifelong fan of the anime and video games but never touched the vpets these are super helpful for learning. And now I'm starting to get my own lol
I always wondered what that strange connector on the bottom of my Digivice IC was used for. Now I know that the Accel and Mini are compatible, ne? It is really interesting to me.
I’m definitely excited to see discuss the later V-Pets. I saw in the comments you mentioned the Digimon Cycle and Cyber but I’m also extra curious about the Digimon Twin and the other interesting V-Pets that they had under their belt.
I always tought the roster were the same as the originals DM!! so cool they added new monsters. a shame they oly got to the ver. 3 it would be interesting to see what a ver.4 and ver.5 would look like in that time
For me it wasn't that I had grow up, but the fact I didn't enjoy Data Squad and I really loved Frontiers , so I dropped Digimon completely after 2009-ish, when Data Squad was airing here (and my country didn't have original Bandai products, so I didn't even know about the v-pets).
I had the digimon vpet original with agumon and betamon back in the 90s lol I saw the revived version this weekend at gamestop and I aaaaaaalmost got it. But I know I just wouldn't really have time to play with it
Actually, tamagothi mini also had an original counterpart at JP, "chibi tamagotchi". It was released very next year after tamagotchi plus(=connection v1)

Dolphin Park, Jungle Cruise, Expedition, Sherbet Land, Snow Day, Time Trials and Friends, though I'll add more every now and then. I think Surf was the one I used up front for a while, but recently I've been trying to cycle them around more.
I've always had a question about training. Is the power in battle affected by the number of training sessions my digimon had? For example, is training 70 times a day more effective than 40 times a day? Or the idea is just to train until hearts are full?
Man my region sucks. I know in late here but I actually only just recently found your channel recently. But since you mentioned the anime my region is terrible for this sort of things. Fox kids where I live stopped airing digimon about 3 episodes into tamers. Either that or it got moved to a new time slot before I woke up. Either way I feel so far behind on digimon as a result.
Either way it was a sad day for me. As despite my literal no interaction with the digimon v pets I did have a d-3 and d-terminal tie in to season 2 and digimon and medabots were the only 2 things I was obsessed with more than pokemon.

For the Digimon MIni, 12 trainings or pills a day will keep it at maximum power.

I don't know about from the Child stage, but battles done as an Adult count for Perfect as well, you don't need to do additional battles.
Unfortunately, they not able to battle with another version.
