Wow. Lanolin's apology went quite smoothly, and it was JEWEL who cried out in despair. I can understand Whisper's desire to end Mimic, given what happened in issue 64 and how he gaslit her and it resulted in her as good as turning on Silver
Yeah, I’ll never forget how horrible Lanolin was, but I’m willing to move past it now. And I completely understand Whisper wanting to kill Mimic. Personally, though, I feel like that would be the easy way out for Mimic, which he doesn’t deserve, and I know she’ll feel guilty for the rest of her life if she kills him. I hope Tangle and Silver talk Whisper out of it, not to save Mimic, but to save her. I’d prefer for Mimic to be locked up in the Everhold again for the rest of his life, where his chances of escaping are slim to none now that Starline’s dead and Clutch has been captured by Eggman.

Finally! After so long, Lanolin FINALLY apologized to Silver. Also, I can't wait to see Sonic & The Chaotix teaming up again... And it's also nice seeing Whisper asking Silver to stop Mimic. Tangle, Whisper & Silver against Mimic? Now that would be awesome.
Honestly, I was half expecting Lanolin to quit after that or at least take an extended leave to think about what her place should be. But I can see that adventure now, they catch up to Mimic and demand he surrender only he doesn't because they've learned he's been turned to stone by an ancient mystic threat that blasts the statue apart trying to attack them and they escape while also recruiting a rook (crow relative) sorcerer onto the team. Ok I mostly made that story up because the IDW book, unlike Archie and Fleetway, have a serious lack of magic in the world and thought this would be a cool way to introduce it.
The others aren't like Shadow, Omega and Espio in regards to dealing with villains. Tangle understands Whisper's pain, but she doesn't want her friend to murder someone else, even if it is Mimic.

Will she really do a temporary fall to anti-heroism? Personally I hope not, or at least that it doesn't go too far. Although, it is still yet to be established if Jewel was suspicious of Duo in issue 70 and has been in issue 64 because of her faith in Whisper and Silver's gut
I think he'll end up offing himself, not self-delete but do something foolish in his attempt to escape that results in him getting deleted by gravity, random sharp object or falling debris and as a result Whisper and Silver will reconsider and think that "heroes are supposed to be better than this."

This issue is really nicely done. I’m happy to see Lanolin owning up to her mistakes and apologizing to her team, essentially Whisper, and Silver. With the second generation of the Diamond Cutters parting ways, I look forward to see what happens next. As for Sonic and the Chaotix, I look forward to seeing them solving the Opossum and the Clean Sweep mystery.
I feel the same way, I knew she would apologize silver and whisper for trusting mimic. But her accept it by them, Over all it is a good issue. Everybody is going to do their own paths so sonic with chaotix solved crime from clutch. While Blaze, Amy and Tails on adventure, Bella being her journey helps people. @@SugarMama98-qb2td Same here. I guessing the 4th issue on the scattered pieces arc will focus on Lanolin and Jewel rebuilding plus Tangle, Whisper and Silver hunting Mimic. Imagine if Mimic turns out to have led the latter trio on a wild goose chase, enabling him to go to Lanolin and mock her for her blind zeal and stubbornness (sorry Lal, you have it coming, but not as much as Mimic)
Honestly this is a really cool soft conclusion to the arc and leaves alot now to what's gonna come. I do like Laolin owns up alot and tbf I never really disliked her character more her actions and tbf the way they set the story with her but I do like everyone and what they came to and what we're likely gonna get to now with Chaotix and Sonic alongwith Mimic now and also seeing Belle doing her thing and also the diamond cutters are no longer a thing makes me super intersted where their going. Also again great job with doing these comics both the music you pick + how slow you and zoom you put in the panels for people to read!
Agreed! It was a nice little conclusion to Issue 75 and left our characters going their own ways. And thank you so much! I'm glad that this way of showing the comics works! :) That was my biggest goal here and I'm so happy it's working.

Loved this Scattered Pieces Pt 1 comic 76, good, can’t wait for the next 4, also Surge & Kit return as well in 78.
I like how silver was able to forgive lanolin its like he knows that hes been tricked by mephiles before so he knows lanolin went through something like what he did
So while one team disbands for now, we’ve got others teaming up to handle different cases/missons or going off on their own. As for clean Sweep Inc, there are three options I see. 1. Mimic, he was working for Clutch and knows his operation in and out. 2. Dr. StarLine back from the dead somehow, he has the brains to run Clean Sweep Inc and was one of Clutch’s main customers, that we know of anyway. 3. New character, maybe one of the criminals from that prison that Starline got his team from in the “Bad Guys mini-series”, or one of Clutch’s underlings stepped up to take the reins. 4. The Hard Boiled Heavies, Maybe Clutch got his hands on them at some point and had them in storage somewhere. Programmed to reactivate in case Clutch needed help against Eggman. It’d be a great way to bring them over from the Classic era. 5. Fang the Sniper, another classic era villain with potential connections to Clutch. Either gathering Eggtech for him or bought it from Clutch.

But nice Wagon like Wild West. 4th: Lanolin and Jewel gonna look at some map and rebuild the Restoration HQ. 5th. Silver, Tangle and Whisper, looking for Mimic. And they're gonna find him and destroy him.
I do appreciate Lanolin's apology to everyone and Silver as well that he deserves to get apologies, but still.... She's hard to be trusted for my opinion and everyone else know

This issue was interesting and it sets up the next chapters of the scattered pieces arc. Although the diamond cutters have disbanded for now they'll more than likely reform in a future issue with a stronger bond of friendship and comradeship. Whisper is making me concerned, yes it's justified that she wants to end Mimic after what just happened but the way the word stop was in quotations when she asked Silver, she just said what tangle wanted to hear. I remember back on a post on Twitter the l that one of the writers Gigi said after the annual that Mimic is what Whisper *could* become. I fear that possibility is still there but hope Whisper, once called a guardian angel, doesn't fall into darkness.
In my opinion whipser wanting to end mimic is justified it doesn’t seem like she is too obsessed with revenge, and rage so I don’t see the problem. It would be hilarious if mimic thinks whisper is still filled with revenge only to find at she just views him as a piece of trash that needs to be thrown away😂
Not to compare Mimic to Mephiles, but it would be nice if in a rematch between Silver and Mimic, he had some trace of having crossed paths with someone worse than Mimic. We've already been shown that Shadow doesn't remember him.
Diamond cutters in spirit since the actual team is done, kinda sad but glad that while no longer an actual team they still hold themselves as friends. Hope to see some of the stories of each other along the path, feels that some good stories can be done now that there are some smaller but defined crews
Everyone talking about Lanolin’s apology, but I am just gidding up about Silver mentioning making an apple orchard and having starry eyes eating one at 4:32 . Looks like the theory of apples being Silvers favorite food from official artworks might be true😊😊😊
Even Lanolin tried to comfort her. I'll never forget the time she was irritable, but at least she's become more tolerable and likable, courtesy of her finding out that Duo was Mimic and that Whisper and Silver were right and the she should've given them the benefit of the doubt and that she was wrong to blame Silver and Whisper and kick out the former. like I said, Mimic's exposure would be the catalyst that starts Lanolin's redemption arc
Genuinely would've loved to see Silver and Blaze tour Soleanna and the Unleashed countries. Yeah, even Jewel knows how the Diamond Cutters feel now, putting your trust in the wrong person and nearly getting people killed over it. Poor girl. Tangle always knows just how to comfort! Awe, Lanolin, I always knew you'd come around! But Whisper... yeah, I know how you feel. But you can't let yourself go that far. That's just what Mimic wants out of you. YES, the ultimate group hug of all true Diamond Cutters!
This was a really great issue, and fixes the lack of closure I felt after Issue 75. Sonic and the Chaotix are going after whoever’s running Clean Sweep Inc now, (Judging by the covers for Issue 77, I think it’s Rough and Tumble) Lanolin finally apologizes for her behavior, Tails, Amy, and Blaze are making sure the Restoration’s goodwill network is still intact, and Tangle, Whisper, and Silver are working together to go after Mimic. The Diamond Cutters may no longer be a team, but I don’t feel like they were really necessary. Tangle and Whisper will still be together to go find Mimic, and they have Silver helping them too. By the end of this arc, I have a feeling Mimic’s Karma Houdini Warranty will expire for good. It’s also really nice seeing Silver given the respect he deserves and Whisper finally having a moment where she’s happy again. I’m looking forward to where this arc goes.

So... Belle, Jewel and Lanolin seem to be written out of the plot for a while, Sonic is tracking down what's left of Clean Sweep, Tangle and Whisper (+ Silver) are after Mimic, and Tails & Amy (+Blaze) are adventuring rebuilding/reconnecting and protecting various places from opportunistic villains. Interesting.

Notice on 8:06 lanolin turned her head when silver arrived possibly to avoid any embarrassing confrontation with silver because she realized that Silver and Whisper were right all along about Duo is actually Mimic the whole time while posing as the diamond cutter member of the team so she apologized to all of them especially Silver for her arrogant behavior and admitted her wrongdoings! Deep inside, Tangle and Whisper are still pissed that Mimic has played them like fools and the saps! Mimic would probably mocking them and taunting them for believing his lies to anger them even more!
@ yeah, she screwed up big time but she can redeem herself in this issue. I hated her because she was so arrogant and disrespectful to everyone especially Sonic in the phantom rider saga but now she can be likeable again in future issues.

Gonna call it; Mimic is running Clean Sweep, Sonic and the Chaotix get to him first before Whisper and Silver show up to finish the job, Sonic and Tangle try to talk them out of it giving Mimic an chance to try to take on of them out but the target is rescued in way that causes him to accidentally take himself out, everyone looks at the result and Sonic is the only one to say anything "let's all just go home."
I'm so glad that lanolin apologised to everyone, you can tell from her wording that she truly realised where she messed up, and now we can finally appreciate her peak character design without associating it with poor characterisation
So Sonic is working with the Chaotix to investigate who’s now running clean sweep and find clutch, Amy, Tails and Blaze are going off to see if they can recover things from the broken restoration base, the diamond cutters are temporally disbanding, jewel and Lanolin are trying to make a safe haven (and people can finally stop hounding lanolin for a apology), Belle is going off on her own with motobud, and Silver, Tangle and Whisper are going to hunt down mimic, this is all very exciting and I can’t wait to see where we go from here
I hope that in Belle travel she ended with the scrapnicks, helping them to found a new place to live, instead of being kidnaped by eggman and turn evil by brainwashing. To be honest is a possibility that i don't think is probable, but in the Sonic world and knowing the comics tropes...the posibilities are never ending, even the bad ones.

I've been salty about the amy anniversary issue being marked as for kids since it happened and I vow to never let it happen again as reading the comments on these comics is always fun. It's nice to see people enjoy the issue through words. :)
Yeeeeees the knots have all been untied! Silver upgraded himself past gold and platinum into a "Diamond" Cutter (you can down vote me for this) and they all had to split up (the background music during this time was moving 😢) for the group's best interests, but we will see them reunite again in the future. What IDW does well is actually not make the comparatively more irksome characters a lot more likeable. Charmy is just a regular good old boy who is still growing up but learns from his seniors in the Chaotix. He himself is willing to do good for everyone and it has been shown since the Zombot arc. Also, Blaze actually conquered her fear of heights? 🤔

I don't know... I think I would've preferred if Clutch kept up his masked persona for longer in the comic, to have him manipulate from the shadows, helping the restoration more directly and appearing to be an ally (but only to further his own goals). Also, I feel like they missed an opportunity to have Jewel make that difficult decision of choosing to save more people but still lose lives in the process. The pacing of the comic seems too fast to me.
I find it interesting that people are so quick to criticize Lanolin for making one bad judgment call while not saying anything about how Sonic handles Eggman. Just shows that confirmation bias always wins.

Lanolin's finally apologised. she saw that Duo was Mimic, that Silver and Whsiper were actually right, that she misunderstood their action through blind zealousness for rules, shallowness and stubbornness, she was wrong to kick out Silver and think of Whisper as out of control, she defended the REAL guilty party, she was a horrible friend, she was listening to and trusting of said before REAL guilty party, she misunderstood the whole situation and got the villain and hero roles mixed up for the phantom rider and cleensweep and that she was the one who was the liability. GREAT! and it was in detail too. at least now she'll become more tolerable and likable and STAY that way, providing that she isn't miswritten (her bad attitude and poor judge of character and situation were deliberate)

Imagine if Mimic turns out to have led the latter trio on a wild goose chase, enabling him to go to Lanolin and mock her for her blind zeal and stubbornness (sorry Lal, you have it coming, but not as much as Mimic)
Honestly this is a really cool soft conclusion to the arc and leaves alot now to what's gonna come. I do like Laolin owns up alot and tbf I never really disliked her character more her actions and tbf the way they set the story with her but I do like everyone and what they came to and what we're likely gonna get to now with Chaotix and Sonic alongwith Mimic now and also seeing Belle doing her thing and also the diamond cutters are no longer a thing makes me super intersted where their going.
Also again great job with doing these comics both the music you pick + how slow you and zoom you put in the panels for people to read!

So while one team disbands for now, we’ve got others teaming up to handle different cases/missons or going off on their own.
As for clean Sweep Inc, there are three options I see.
1. Mimic, he was working for Clutch and knows his operation in and out.
2. Dr. StarLine back from the dead somehow, he has the brains to run Clean Sweep Inc and was one of Clutch’s main customers, that we know of anyway.
3. New character, maybe one of the criminals from that prison that Starline got his team from in the “Bad Guys mini-series”, or one of Clutch’s underlings stepped up to take the reins.
4. The Hard Boiled Heavies, Maybe Clutch got his hands on them at some point and had them in storage somewhere. Programmed to reactivate in case Clutch needed help against Eggman. It’d be a great way to bring them over from the Classic era.
5. Fang the Sniper, another classic era villain with potential connections to Clutch. Either gathering Eggtech for him or bought it from Clutch.

This issue was interesting and it sets up the next chapters of the scattered pieces arc. Although the diamond cutters have disbanded for now they'll more than likely reform in a future issue with a stronger bond of friendship and comradeship. Whisper is making me concerned, yes it's justified that she wants to end Mimic after what just happened but the way the word stop was in quotations when she asked Silver, she just said what tangle wanted to hear. I remember back on a post on Twitter the l that one of the writers Gigi said after the annual that Mimic is what Whisper *could* become. I fear that possibility is still there but hope Whisper, once called a guardian angel, doesn't fall into darkness.

Awe, Lanolin, I always knew you'd come around! But Whisper... yeah, I know how you feel. But you can't let yourself go that far. That's just what Mimic wants out of you. This was a really great issue, and fixes the lack of closure I felt after Issue 75. Sonic and the Chaotix are going after whoever’s running Clean Sweep Inc now, (Judging by the covers for Issue 77, I think it’s Rough and Tumble) Lanolin finally apologizes for her behavior, Tails, Amy, and Blaze are making sure the Restoration’s goodwill network is still intact, and Tangle, Whisper, and Silver are working together to go after Mimic. The Diamond Cutters may no longer be a team, but I don’t feel like they were really necessary. Tangle and Whisper will still be together to go find Mimic, and they have Silver helping them too. By the end of this arc, I have a feeling Mimic’s Karma Houdini Warranty will expire for good. It’s also really nice seeing Silver given the respect he deserves and Whisper finally having a moment where she’s happy again. I’m looking forward to where this arc goes.
I'm fine with it expiring, so long as that it's Eggman getting the kill or Mimic is his foolishness accidently disposes of himself.

Belle, Jewel and Lanolin seem to be written out of the plot for a while, Sonic is tracking down what's left of Clean Sweep, Tangle and Whisper (+ Silver) are after Mimic, and Tails & Amy (+Blaze) are adventuring rebuilding/reconnecting and protecting various places from opportunistic villains. Interesting.

Deep inside, Tangle and Whisper are still pissed that Mimic has played them like fools and the saps! I'm so glad that lanolin apologised to everyone, you can tell from her wording that she truly realised where she messed up, and now we can finally appreciate her peak character design without associating it with poor characterisation

I've been salty about the amy anniversary issue being marked as for kids since it happened and I vow to never let it happen again as reading the comments on these comics is always fun. It's nice to see people enjoy the issue through words. :)
Yeeeeees the knots have all been untied! Silver upgraded himself past gold and platinum into a "Diamond" Cutter (you can down vote me for this) and they all had to split up (the background music during this time was moving 😢) for the group's best interests, but we will see them reunite again in the future.
What IDW does well is actually not make the comparatively more irksome characters a lot more likeable. Charmy is just a regular good old boy who is still growing up but learns from his seniors in the Chaotix. He himself is willing to do good for everyone and it has been shown since the Zombot arc.
Also, Blaze actually conquered her fear of heights? 🤔

I don't know... I think I would've preferred if Clutch kept up his masked persona for longer in the comic, to have him manipulate from the shadows, helping the restoration more directly and appearing to be an ally (but only to further his own goals). Also, I feel like they missed an opportunity to have Jewel make that difficult decision of choosing to save more people but still lose lives in the process. The pacing of the comic seems too fast to me.
I find it interesting that people are so quick to criticize Lanolin for making one bad judgment call while not saying anything about how Sonic handles Eggman. Just shows that confirmation bias always wins.

Lanolin's finally apologised. she saw that Duo was Mimic, that Silver and Whsiper were actually right, that she misunderstood their action through blind zealousness for rules, shallowness and stubbornness, she was wrong to kick out Silver and think of Whisper as out of control, she defended the REAL guilty party, she was a horrible friend, she was listening to and trusting of said before REAL guilty party, she misunderstood the whole situation and got the villain and hero roles mixed up for the phantom rider and cleensweep and that she was the one who was the liability. GREAT! and it was in detail too. at least now she'll become more tolerable and likable and STAY that way, providing that she isn't miswritten (her bad attitude and poor judge of character and situation were deliberate)
