    The MMA vs UFC thing is kinda like if someone plays football in their backyard, then tells everyone that they host NFL games at their house.

    You should break down the extended fight scene from Atomic Blonde. Charlize Theron trained for months and did most of the stuntwork in that scene (pretty much all of it minus the stair falls and the stunt driving). She even bruised ribs and cracked teeth and kept going in takes that were used in the movie itself. You can also find videos of her training.

    • @shinobi-no-bueno
      @shinobi-no-bueno 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      What is there to break down? It's the modern 'lightweight woman beats up multiple heavyweight guys with little effort' trope that modern action movies have been pushing for a while, granted they show her taking hits but it's still a fantasy

    • @dylanbarrett508
      @dylanbarrett508 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@shinobi-no-bueno ''still a fantasy'' never understood this criticism since that is ultra true of all action movies even the men are doing super human things no man irl could could come close to doing. Just enjoy it for what it is, i understand if the acting/dialogue or story is bad but if the action in an action movie is realistic then the protagonist man or woman instantly dies after getting mobbed by a horde of bad guys.
      people still do breakdowns of action movie scenes for fun even when they are super unrealistic when men are in the action scene.

    • @shinobi-no-bueno

      @@dylanbarrett508 that's just false. Perhaps you and I could not but that doesn't mean no man can. And if a man accomplishing these feats breaks the immersion for you then a woman doing the same must completely take you out of the film

    • @dylanbarrett508
      @dylanbarrett508 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@shinobi-no-bueno even in some movies where the character is not supposed to be superhuman you see dudes do ridiculous shit like solo kill anywhere from 2 or 3 dozen to a few hundred men, sometimes in hand to hand combat other times with guns but the bad guys have guns too. Do you legitimately think there is a man on this planet who can reliably and consistently solo a compound full of other trained armed men with guns numbering in the dozens to sometime hundreds, sometimes with minimal or no prep time too.
      Seriously there is no man on the planet who can fist fight 30 other men at the same time in a large open room where they can get rushed from all angles simultaneously and still win despite being stated to not be superhuman, yet we see it all the time in action movies. like come on rambo going off the actors age is 73 in the most recent rambo movie yet still kicks the ass of dudes in their 20s, 30s and 40s.
      The thing is despite no man being able to do this shit it doesn't break my immersion or stop me from enjoying the movie because suspension of disbelief is a thing, OBVIOUSLY THER IS A LIMIT but people see action heroes do crazy shit all the time and most people don’t instantly freak out and go THATS NOT REALISTIC. They understand it's a movie and it's fun to see people be badass and hyper competent at an absurd amount of skills because power fantasy and numerous other reasons.
      people want to be entertained not hyper realism.

    I did MMA. Got a split disc and after somebody turned my head into a punch bag (which really hurts with MMA gloves) I realised the skull does bend. Then I got a little mad because the guy had pounded me because he didn't like the guillotene I'd gotten him with in the previous round. So I thought "I'm gonna let my legs go" (I was a fast kicker) and immediately slipped over in my own blood. That's MMA. Enjoy.
