Thanks! Gives me ideas to assess my small charcoal collection and add pages to my sketchbook. Can’t you knead the eraser and turn it into itself to give a clean surface ? It’s been awhile. Just got introduced to a water soluble charcoal pencil that gives luscious black watery lines. So much character and fun!
Ooh, yes , I’ll try that! Many moons ago at art school, we only used erasers like this so must be able to get more use out of them. Thanks for the reminder 😊 And yes, must try out the water soluble ones!
Fellow pencil sharpener sufferer here. Why are they all so useless?! I upgraded to a metal one a few months back, honestly i might as well just wallop my pencils with a hammer. All that seems to happen is that the wood splinters and the lead crumbles. Very annoying when i got through about half my Derwent white pencil in one go trying to get any kind of point on it.
Crazy isn’t it! If you happen to find one a good one please let me know and if I find one, I’ll tell everyone! I remember back in art school we just used to use a craft knife to sharpen, maybe that was why 😀
Please let me know if you recommend a good pencil sharpener!😊
I like the idea of using my wood charcoal chunks! You are a good teacher
@@Kathleen-dn6mz Thanks Kathleen, that’s nice if you to say! Give it a go! 😊
it looks good on orange
Yes it does, doesn’t it 😊
Thank you for showing the different charcoal and your sketchbook. Inspired me to play in my book.
Wonderful! Have a lovely time!

@@katerose8393 I have been using my tiny little sharpener for the charcoal. The old fashioned kind without battery or electric.
@@appyhappyart I might go back to that actually, I have enough of those exacto knife things around!
