They’re such great little cars and often get put down for their owners reputation. Currently have a stage 1 lightly modified car as a daily to an M2 and at no point do I feel disappointed driving the fiesta. You can put these down some twisty roads, have fun and not worry like a lot of more powerful, expensive cars.
Used to have a MK7 ST which I had for 2 and a bit years. Just before covid I swapped it for a MK8, which is a good car but didn’t give me the same feeling at all. Only had it 6 months before swapping it for a sensible Audi A3 S-Line which I’ve now had for nearly 2 years and now I’m trying to decide whether I should go back to a MK7 ST. Such great cars!
Thank you for sharing your experience. Tough choice whether or not to go back for one! For sure they are so much fun but your A3 will 100% be a better daily if not a little less entertaining than a MK7 ST
@@SamAustin I think it was actually one of your videos that persuaded me to get my first ST 5 years ago. I know what you’re saying which makes it all the more difficult to decide. Of course having both would be ideal but isn’t an option for me. Keep up the good content
I came from a stage 2R ST to a manual Golf R. The R is definitely quicker getting up to speed in 1st and 2nd. 3rd and 4th gear though, I don't think there is a lot in it.
Hey, I seem to have watched your videos maybe before with your old MO ST and I think you may have also done a video when higher mileage mk8 st's were not much over 10k? I'll have to check out some of your other ST200 videos. Might be able to get an ST next year for the better weather times. Had a Magnetic grey ST line 1.0 140 from 2016 to 2020 and then it got rear ended and written off. Somehow it's been repaired though and back on the road... was one of the lowest mileage examples I think :(
For me I prefer the MK7.5. It weighs a little less and is more simple in terms of not having any real tech. It is a car you just get in and drive for a blast. Engine noise sounds better to me being a 4 cylinder and overall I do prefer the MK7.5. I had one stock for 4 years and have driven quite a few stock MK8's. Don't get me wrong the MK8 is a great car but the MK7.5 edges it for me overall 😊
@Oliver Loftus I’m currently driving a MK5 r32.. really want to go back to either a st200 or a MK8 st3.. what do you think of the MK8 if you got one? Cheers 😎👍
@@ogloftus thanks for the reply! I adore the little fiestas, I’m just torn between a 200 & the MK8.. all reviews that I’ve seen are excellent for the MK8. My head says MK8 but my heart wants the 200.. cheers & enjoy 😎👍
@@jordan3522 can’t give an opinion on a mk7 as I’ve never had one or driven but Mk8 is much more modern and sounds better so would be better coming from a vR6
@@ogloftus I’d have to agree with that statement, similar price 200/mk8.. I know I really should go for the MK8. No brainer really. I will miss the sound of the 32, but that’s about it. Cheers for your reply’s 😎
Id imagine its almost a reminder of what driving is all about. This car takes away all the nanny stuff we have got in our nice four wheel drive luxury cars and puts us into that car that gives that go kart sensation we really want to drive.....enjoy
If you can afford it, I wouldn’t get rid of either of your cars in a hurry. I would not imagine that either will depreciate that much ……. Your Fiesta possibly not at all.
