I rarely comment on videos. I spend a lot of time in bed due to chronic illness and pain so I usually watch on the tv lol. It’s high time that I rectify this and drop you a note.
Because I can no longer commit to playing with a group, solo rp has become a wonderful outlet for stress and anxiety as well as exercising my mental muscles.
Until I was recommended one of your videos, solo play wasn’t on my radar. You have opened my eyes to amazing new worlds.
Thank you for sharing your insights, experiences, and time with us. 💛✨

Wow, wow, wow... wow. Had to pause the video to go buy this. So, you just said the most helpful thing I have heard so far when it comes to oracles. "Think of them as a bounce..." Bounce, nudge, tap, jiggle, whatever. I often struggle to fit the words I get from an oracle into a literal, logical, meaning I can put into the narrative. I'm thinking now that wasn't the goal in the first place. Getting my brain to consider a new and unexpected idea was. Excellent.

I think soloRPGs can be a nifty gateway to smuggle in some healthy metaphysics into everyday life. And thank you for being a force driving that smuggling ring.

Very interesting explanation, seeing the concept of archetypes through the eyes of a child really helps me to understand it on a deeper level than I had previously. I think The Hero and The Villian are a child's first interaction with the concepts of ontological good and evil.

The impact of our thoughts into the Collective Unconscious reminds me a lot of St. Seraphim of Sarov saying "Aquire the Spirit of Peace and thousands around you will be saved". The content of our inner lives has a real and tangible impact on the inner lives of people around us, and a strictly physicalist understanding of the world fails to explain how this can be the case. Very good video, I will be using this oracle in my games!

I know you have a serious thing going on with Pendragon, but I really think you should check out Runequest and Unknown Armies 2nd edition. Runequest's writers have said in interviews that they think that the Red Book is the single most important book to help new GMs run the game.
Unknown Armies literally turns archetypes into a character class.

Video 81 of me liking and then commenting on every new upload to tell the viewers that the Man Alone Podcast is absolutely some of that sweet, unhinged audio/vocal-honey.
Psssst. What is holding humanity back? Be specific.
BONUS QUESTION: What is it exactly that humanity is being held back from?

    • @jacekandrzejczak318

The mammal brain and its limited tempo of evolution. Old heuristics and brain centers reacting in the same old ways to new sets of problems in new sets of environments. It's all just too damn slow. Posthumanism, now!

I would say it is the inability to face their own shadow and instead projecting it outward everywhere they can find it. This constant search for outer utopia is holding us back from finding our utopia within (i.e. "if you're not in heaven now, you never will be.")

I know people don’t like to be told what to do or limited in any way, but what if there is an evil, controlling influence on humanity that wants you to do ANYTHING but worship the true god in the way that god wants to be worshipped. Wouldn’t this loving, all knowing god warn us from dangers we can’t see. Duet 18:10-12. I know people will casually dismiss what they play as “pretend” and not really casting spells, but isn’t that what practice is? Play. Cats play - to practice hunting. Because there is a distinction in your mind doesn’t mean God doesn’t see you courting disobedience for which we will suffer the consequences. I say No Thanks. I don’t make people do things either.
