I still bawl when I come and see this wonderful tribute. Dad Decorah will always have a special place in my heart. An epitome of what a Father should be like, both human and animal. Love ya, Dad Decorah...❤😔😢❤

Yeah, that time, about a minute twenty in, when it was really cold and snowing...I saw it when it happened. He came and shared nest duty with Mom. Was really there for her and the babies. They shared a moment...almost like he knew. Touched my heart.
And I'm still crying in Oct of 2020. We will love you forever Dad Decorah and will never forget you❤❤❤

This tribute is so far beyond what words can say. It is over 3 months since the first viewing and I still experience the same, raw feelings. My tears are flowing just as easily today as yesterday. Thank you Lizzy for this memorable tribute to Dad. Soar high, Dad Decorah, we miss you.
Its my first year watching the Eagles but I love it and he sure is a good dad .....i will be around to see them again

How very beautiful and sad at the same time. I hope Mom will accept another, as Harriet did after losing her Ozzie. So many traits of him were in this year's young. I believe Dad Decorah will watch over this nest forever. Mom Decorah was the most courageous and dedicated mother ever. I hope her heart has had time to heal.

I happened on this tonight, having watched it previously right after it was first posted. Tears came quickly again as I remembered back all the good years that we were able to watch Dad Decorah. I miss him and wish he could have been with Mom to raise the three amigos. She did an awesome job and he would have been so proud of her, as were we all. Someday we'll understand what happened. Thank you for doing this, Lizzy!

Beautiful. But makes me so sad....
i never followed this nest, but even still upon learning about what happened to dad and now this tribute video, this has brought me to tears. i hope he is safe. at worst, i hope he is flying in that huge, wonderous blue beyond the stars and catching all the fish he wants, if you follow me.

Of three baby chicks
In a nest constructed of leaves, grass, and sticks.
Kept safe by their parents
From dawn until dusk
With three tiny heads resting
On a bed of cornhusks.
A few weeks passed
A late winter snow.
Daddy D is missing.
Where did he go?
Mom cries out
Looking in every direction.
To find her mate
Of undying affection.
Our fears and concerns
Have been shared and spoken
Between mom and babes
The bond is unbroken.
Overwhelmed, mom knows
Life must go on.
She hunts and gathers

Is there something formal that a Tribute is needed. I mean did an Admin or founder says it's ok to say Dad is gone?
From RRP page We will be holding a remembrance of Dad Decorah on our Facebook page on Wednesday, May 2nd. We will open the page that day so watchers can post memories, poems, stories, and artwork of our beloved Dad. In the meantime, we will be watching Mom and the eaglets. She has been doing a wonderful job of caring for and protecting her eaglets in Dad’s absence, and we wish for nothing but the best for all of them.
Chat will be closed on Thursday, May 3rd, to give our moderators a little time of their own.
