Wow! I’m making Tilly and she’s done but I so much wish I had seen this video first. I hand sewed the legs, arms, ears and head on. They are way too floppy! It’s a baby shower gift and I just don’t have time to re do. So glad to have found your video
I have knitted the dog and cat as instructed in pattern. I love the way you have knitted in the arms and legs. I find sewing on parts difficult and hard to get symmetrical. I'm now inspired to try your ideas on my next critter. The other tips you have shown will also be used. Thank you. I'm enjoying your videos and have only recently discovered them. I'm looking forward to watching more as I'm keen to improve my finished work. I knit using English method and just find it too difficult to change. This adds some technique challenges for me.
Good for you for persevering - I would not change knitting method either - there are times I have to adjust my technique also, depending on how the pattern is written - thank you for your kind words.
Thank you very much for all your hints and tips here!! I have just finished George the Dog and am moving on to the Owl next and although I knit a lot of George 'in the round', your ways are very helpful and I will be trying them all on my next critter!! Jan
Thank you so much for showing your experience in making the horse. As I waited for this video I ended up continuing my horse just plain and used duplicate stitch to do the muzzle. I’m not too thrilled with the outcome. This video is so helpful, and I will definitely be trying the intarsia on another animal. It was comforting to hear that I was not alone in some of the struggles I was facing. Please continue talking about your tips as you make the animals. I’m waiting in anticipation for the new book to come out and can surely use all your advice.
May I ask what you didn't like about how the duplicate-stitch muzzle came out? Did the stitches look too thick? I'm going to be making this horse in a couple of weeks, and I was thinking of doing the muzzle that way.
Yes if I remember correctly, it was thick, but also not very neat looking. Of course at that time I hadn’t had a lot of practice with the duplicate stitch so it could totally have been just me. Good luck!
I'm making Maisie the Mouse [as a boy, Trefor, the Fancy Rat] I am using a provisional cast on for the tail, in the round, which I figured out for myself [go me!] starting with the tail base, and stuffing up to the decrease to the eight stitches, and then stuffing downwards towards the tail base, maybe 1cm at a time, as this works better for me. II'll be adding the tail onto the body with Linda's method for legs and arms, which is brilliant.
Question: Where do you go to get your pattern book pages available to put into a 3-ring binder? I love this book, and use it often, but it certainly doesn’t lay flat. Your instruction is wonderful!! Thank You☀️
I cut my pages apart with a sharp knife - however it was not east and next time I would go to a print shop that has a large paper cutter and they can cut down the book with one cut. I cut just past the glue area. It was a little more than 1/4in cut off.
Thank you so much for your quick response!!! You are so brave!! I had heard that Staples will do something like this, but I'm not sure. I'll have to do a little research. Again, my thanks!@@lindaeld9660
I'm in love with this book. I have only completed Charlotte and the body of Noah. Going forward I will definitely be doing your method of knitting in arms, head and legs. Thank you for the heads up! I have a question though about Noah's Overalls. On Rnd 72 it ends with are now worked back and forth in rows. How do you do that on circular needles with removing the marker? Thx for any help.
@@jacquelinecalzone4686 Hello! No one ever hot back to me so I have vowed to help all I can. I have knitted these overalls several times now and have gotten it figured out. Very poorly written directions but what do I know? For Line 73 put a marker after the P18 and P34. For me it's easier to see when to turn your knitting needles over in the opposite direction and start the next line of instructions. Line 88 is a Knit to the end after you've done k2tog, k2 3x total. I hope that helps!!
@@staceyodonnell8697 Oh my God I cannot thank you enough I will give this a try as I have attempted it four times already. Yes I think this instruction for the Dungarees is poorly written. I do contact the author from time to time but I don’t always get a response. Or sometimes she might just reply that the instructions are correct. I am so grateful that you were able to provide some help in this area. I have made most of the animals from this book and I have not had any complications so far. I will definitely give this a try and I hope you don’t mind if I reach back out to you should I encounter any other issues. You are a godsend. Sincerely grateful
@@staceyodonnell8697 online 73 where you place the right hand needle up through the pearl bump directly below the first stitch on the left hand needle and knit dropping the pearl loop off the needle I do not understand this part of the instruction. Is there anyway you can help with that explanation?
@@jacquelinecalzone4686 I have tried to reach out to her several times, nothing. I would have expected at least an assistant to. I reached out to a Facebook group that knits them and they were so mean to me. The animals are easy and fast knits but the clothing is poorly written. But they are so cute!! I love them.
Her seams do not show and I'm not sure how she has accomplished such a perfect look. I wonder if she uses sewing thread . That is one reason I knit in the round when ever I can to eliminate sewing seams.
Thanks so much for your help and advice . Would you please show how to knit the tail of the squirrel pattern? The first 17 rows aren't that clear to me. On what stitch number am I going to end when I'm done on row 17?
Hello, when you knit in the round for the body and then leave a gap, how do you do that? Do you knit back and forward at a certain point? Do you make an increase on both sides, because when you close the gap, you have 2 stitches less in comparison with working in the round? Hopefully you can help me. Thanks in advance, Anke
In the section where the seam is I work back and forth and I do not add stitches to compensate for the seam as when I close it up I just catch a leg of the stitch on each end of row. I hope this helps.
Hi Linda I hope you can help with my question I am really enjoying making these animals (with a lot of help from your videos) I made the mouse which turned out the friendly giant floppy mouse however I persevered and I am now stuck on the dungarees for the horse I was working the rows from 82 which is right side back then I got to row 95 and I just don’t understand the pattern as I am now at different heights a frustrated knitter thanks you Veronica from Oxford Uk 🌷
I am wondering if you missed one of the "turns" - you may have to start back at row 82 to find what you might have missed. I have made them several times and have not experienced a problem. Keep trying !
Je découvre vos vidéos qui sont très intéressantes merci beaucoup pour vos explications dommage que je puisse pas régler les sous titres en français ne parlant pas du tout anglais c'est un peu compliqué en tous cas c est très intéressant merci
It is pretty much the same. I have not knitted him yet (on my list). I have looked at the pattern and it uses intarsia which I have talked about in some of my videos and there are a number of TH-cam videos that are good to watch if you have never worked with intarsia.

Either way works just find so I encourage a knitter to knit them the way that works best for yourself
I really could use your help on making the dungarees. I am really quite stuck at line 73 I believe it is where we pick up the loop in the back of the stitch. Is there anyway you could please contact me I’m having great difficulty.
It's been a while ago that I made the dungarees but if my memory serves we well this is where the button flap is lapped together on row 73. So she is having you knit in the back of those 2 stitches to start the overlap (hope that makes sense) Its the flap where the button holes will be made. Let me know if this helps. It's kinda tricky the way she wrote the instructions.
@@lindaeld9660 Now that makes total sense! I wish that were explained in the book. I'm going to try the row again. Thank you so much for your tutorials. I just discovered them.
