    I definitely would not have figured out that you have to spin the driver out clockwise. Thanks!

      lol right. I’m the same way, I’d just think that it was stuck

    It's so cool that the reflector fell out! I Mine got stuck. Someone mentioned on reddit that you can use a toothpick to poke between the white gasket and the reflector to pull the reflector out.

    Another interesting little light I have several of is the Trustfire MC1 that is thumb size with magnetic tail and charging and put's out 1000 lumens with small hotspot and wide spill with CREE Hi something. I have the MC12 headlamp version also. It's similar to the Olight Baton 3. You might like one of those? They are like little James Bond gadgets and run off 16340 lithium.

      I do love little lights, but I need something that will run for longer than 30 mins on turbo and I need somewhat of a hotspot at work, that’s why my go to is my custom ti t3 with 3v 8 amp buck driver and culpm1 led. It’s a beast. I’m trying to make one with a sft40, but I need to bore the reflector hole and get mcpcb that will fit in there

    8:20 I'm pretty lazy and leave the original solder on the - and + pads for the MCPCB.

    Acebeam is prob my favorite brand. I love my Acebeam K65gt highly recommend that light. I also have the K75 but I like the 65gt better. Keep them videos coming!! ;)

    On every light I take apart I put a piece of kapton tape over the positive and negative connections. It will help prevent a short just in case and it’s very resistant to high temperature so it holds up next to a hot emitter. It’s a bit expensive but a small sample size roll lasts forever just doing flashlight mods. I also figured the same for investing in some good thermal paste (arctic mx6) and some good silicone grease (nyogel 760g). I already knew to use leaded solder/solder paste coming from modding audio gear, I still had some solder with lead and silver in it so I’ve just been using that too but I won’t be buying more of the silver solder once I’m out. I thought about using liquid metal thermal paste but I figured it’s probably not a good idea on something like a flashlight, too much risk for it to seep out and cause a short.

      Yes. I should order some kapton tape and put it over every solder joint. Just in case. Also I need some good silicone grease as some of my new lights don’t have any

    It looks so easy when you twist the lens out of the body.....is it possible that mine is glued? I can not twist it out.

    • @marcgossling8260
      @marcgossling8260  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Remember it’s the opposite. You go clockwise to loosen it and counter clockwise to tighten it. They’re not glued in

      It looks like the bottom Part at the switch can be unscrewed as well. Is it possible to disassambly the switch?

    nichia 519a on smooth replector was really bad ringy beam😢

    • @marcgossling8260
      @marcgossling8260  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Mine produced a beautiful beam in my opinion. If you dedome your 519a it will need an op reflector, but as long as it’s centered correctly and you leave the dome on it will produce a good beam. Thank you for watching

    Does the grey 1,000 lumen use the same driver as the standard models?

    • @marcgossling8260
      @marcgossling8260  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Idk, I’m pretty sure it is. Idk 100% but either way it’s a powerful little driver and should be able to power most 3535 LEDs safely and effectively if you’re looking to swap
