ALSO, A small write up from ADV Riders:
www.advrider.com/forums/showth...
A few important things should be noted here, as you already knew, the spedo hangs from 25mph until somewhere around 40 or so, really weird, it is hard to get my head around this, any explanations? Also, If you are just starting to modify your T-Max, I HIGHLY recommend this Variator, it is SICK! I am serious!!!
I still need to do more tests and MPG studies, but for all intents and purposes, this lil Add-on really makes your T-Max come alive.
Essentially, the pulley engages quicker, about 1k sooner thus causing peak torq and HP right at the launch, similar to a torque converter on your Auto Trans for your Cages. This means your machine will be running at a higher RPM at all speeds before the high gear, or top end.
More details shall follow after more testing and understanding of this amasing mod!

This is the best mod anybody can do to a scooter, hands down. I cannot stop smiling when I am riding, night and day performance.;
Thanks brother! I am glad you are happy for watching, that makes me happy too. :)
J Costa variators and weights are stocked by Scootertronics, the only US consumer site, these are great variators, since I race scooters I used these in 50s then installed them in maxie and 250 go carts , I was surprised since they are so different, I started doing this in 2006
Major improvement. Nice that make the goodies.
Thanks. :) Still smiling, I'm so happy with TMax, must be the best vehicle I have ever owned.
i have to agree with this.
Thanks Bolling, I sure love it, in hind sight, I should have gotten this months ago, it is one heck of a mod!
Why speed Hang between 25-45 ??? Because of variator ?
amazing video buddy and nice scooter ill get the yamaha tmax soon
where did you get the variator?
Thanks Brother D, I have been a bit more cautious now, and it is raining like a waterfall over here so that keeps me at the posted speed limit. I finally installed UBUNTU on my main machine, no more windoze!
nice tmax man, im thinking of getting one by the end of this year, any advice?
what's the tradeoff for this peice of equipment?
I Can watch this whole day long 😀👍
video spettacolare!!!!!!! come si godeeee
3 sec faster, WELL WORTH IT. It is THE only mod worth getting for a big scooter, it is a VERY noticeable increase in power to the wheel. :)
Bro can u tell us what is the difference in top speed between stock variator and Jcosta variator?
How much u get with stock variator, and how much u get with Jcosta?
Cool video man! Thanks
:D It sure is my Mean Machine! You are right, the sound is different, it winds up faster now. :)
but it feels so fxxking good
True excitement 👍😁
Thanks man!!!
YIKES!!!! the COPS!!! no no no no!!!! I don't want them to like me anymore! You are so right man...
my uncle's tmax is the same as yours and it's stock, mines stock as well
:D I am really happy with TMAX!!!
0-60 mph cannot be 9 secs that slow man,my 2015 tmax 530 0-60 is around 6 seconds only,my uncle's 2008 tmax500 is about 7 seconds
Nice vid dude! Apparently all those speedos seem ro hang after a variator tune. Even the newer ones do that
***** Thanks mate! I wonder why it does that? Speed sensor is on front wheel, weird effect.
Seem like it's revving much more though!
I feel your pain bro, I rather do artwork for a living as well, but like you said...
how are there 9 year old comments on a video released 7 years ago? youtube lol
I supress and unsupress videos. :)
@@maikerumine that explains it
