Oh I love this scrappiness and I can see the wheels turning while you’re working on it. The addition of the stripe elevates it to a level beyond just scrappy.
Absolutely amazed by the effeciency of your first "exploratory cuttings"! I learned something really useful about busy prints, thank you so much! I might dare to cut into mine soon 😁
When you first started cutting, I thought you were crazy. But the way it turned out is amazing. I can't wait to try something like this. Thank you for this artistic approach to fabric creation.
I think you did an awesome job working with the Butterfly material. I would never had thought about cutting it up and then putting it back together in hat way. You made an amazing quilt. What an imagination.
Such an interesting idea! My first thought was "OMG she is ruining these poor butterflies !🤪 But in the end something absolutely amazing appeared ! Thank you for sharing with us! Best wishes from Bucharest !🇷🇴
Darlene M would be so proud of you. She’s the queen of cutting things up into tiny little pieces. I love how it turned out and you can’t go wrong using stripes
My favorite things, crumb piecing and doing random cuts to fabric. I’m going to find a piece of fabric I love but don’t know what to do with it and try this Fun FUN!
I would not have thought to do this. It reminds me of a shattered mirror reflecting something very colourful. It might have been interesting to back the quilt with the original butterfly fabric.
Try using fabrics with big, discrete, separate areas of colour. Using a very busy fabric like this results in a SNW/1BW quilt that looks very much like the original fabric.
All that random chopping gave me anxiety but your quilt turned out beautiful. I can't wait to see it finished. Great choice of the accent fabrics. At first I was struggling to see your vision but well done I think you nailed it.
I agree about the seamline. I think that I would have unpicked it and joined it back together with a stop petrol or the black and white striped fabric. Looking lovely though. Reminds me of a cathedral window type quilt block / quilt top. Ps scrappy quilts are always my favourite. They are just endlessly interesting to look at!
Love watching you work through things. This quilt top is giving me comic book vibes.
Love the Butterfly scrappy with the black strip in between.

Very clever, colors are spot on. Your very creative. Picasso.
I love the “intentional randomness” of this! The colors really pop against the black. Thanks for the fun video. 🙂

So much more fun than just following someone else's pattern!

I really appreciate watching your process. You are an inspiration!
Ooooo My Gosh! I'm not normally one to be a copycat but I think I'm going to totally copy this!!!
I hope you realize, when you say”how about that”, I answer you. Love it. This was fun.
I can hear you when you answer! Haha, happy quilt making.
Looks like a stained glass window❤💙💜
Take care cutting in the air and with the blades towards you. That first cut ✂️ you made gave me a jolt! 😯 signed your older sew sister ❣
Enjoyed this improv
Wauw, that is so beautifull!!
Fascinating video concept, love it
Idk why but they make me think of comic strips. I love them!
My kinda gal! Loving your process & what you’re creating! I agree about hiding the “obvious” seam. Thank you for sharing!!!
I love this, so fun!!
Love it. Your creativity shines.
Very cool! Reminds me of a comic book.

I love this! It would be fantastic sewn to a denim jacket (which I pick up very cheaply at thrift stores).
Love it!

I call this randomised attachment. If you don't overthink it magic happens

Great idea
Really enjoy you!
Fabric like that might work good for stack-n-whack.

Very nice!

I love how it turned out.
Watching you do this reminded me of another TH-camr I’ve watched. You might enjoy watching the The Warped Spinster.
Your quilt is stunning. I love the colors.

I love this - you have such an amazing 'eye'....
I really think this looks gray! Reminds me of a fragmented stain glass window.
It almost has the feel of graffiti art , it's cool
Looks like a large maze
You are brave to cut into new picture material, I have difficulty doing that.
Beautiful, but where is the finished quilt top?
You see the quilt top at the end of the video. I don’t have a video of the finished quilt. Thanks for watching!
The black and white stripes look like zipper teeth to Me. 😂
Where did you get that beautiful butterfly fabric?
I think this is a Philip Jacobs fabric from the Treasure Island line "Tropical Butterflies".
Can you tell me what the butterfly fabric is called and who the designer is please
