- So this is my second S2000 that I bought before the JDM version which was reviewed last week. This car has been fully kitted out with the Spoon Sports S Tai kit with a Comptech supercharger making around 400bhp. It has a rare Spoon Street exhaust which should be quieter than the N1 but I'm not too sure about that. Enjoy!

youtube suggested this video from a SetraMotorsport video and my god this S2K is a beautiful bit of kit, love the sound of the exhaust. i'm surprised the super charger isn't more noticeable (sound wise). anyway, great video. definitely going to subscribe
Many thanks for your comment and support. I still have the Spoon bonnet and Spoon Hardtop to fit to complete the car. The exhaust is louder than the supercharger hence why the camera may not have picked up the sound.

Thank you for the comment and support :) I like your blue S2000 with the Enkei RPF1's. The scales are handy and necessary if you are serious about track days/racing but for the price, I would rather buy something else. What else have you done to your car?

If you watch my previous video where I visited Spoon Sports Europe, you will have seen that I picked up the Spoon Hardtop and ordered the Spoon bonnet. The bonnet has yet to arrive :(
Sick! Ill definitely check out your other videos. The spoon hardtop isn't removable at all is it? I enjoy the top down life to much to be locked down like that
It is removable just like the normal hardtop but only gives a very small clearance to the rear trunk.

Very nice. We have the same tein monoflex coilovers haha and mine is a spa yellow ap1. You've convinced me to paint my oem berlina black hardtop to match the spa yellow :)
+Frosty That's awesome. How do you find adjusting the damper setting by the fuel filler neck? I can barely fit my hands in. Will need the EDFC.

+PerformanceCars yeah the black and yellow theme is nice as I also have black powdercoated wheels, but the yellow hardtop is just cleannnnn :) & my softtop is completely gutted out to save a little weight so its just the hardtop back there (like the CR) but even so I still have to squeeze my hand in through under the fuel filler there's really no way around it lol but its still an easy adjustment
+Frosty That's cool, my pre facelift S2000 has black wheels and it is a nice theme. One thing I did have a problem with was getting the spray guys to match the yellow with the rest of the car as it has pearls in the paint.

That is the most gorgeous s2000 I ever seen.just curious with a v tech s2000 how much u think it'll cost me to have one like like this from charger to kit n exhaust! What exhaust is that? Killer man!
Thanks again 👍 The supercharger kits are around £4000+, you will also have to include labour if you are not fitting it yourself and you will need an aftermarket ECU like AEM EMS. Kit itself is from Spoon Sports and that isn't cheap plus respray. Exhaust is also Spoon Sports.
stunning car mate! it really is.. 1 thing though, what made you go for spoon brakes ect? previous experiences with spoon arnt very good.. there brakes are 👎
+Adam peters Many thanks! I've never had any issues with the both Spoon Monoblocks & Twinblocks. I have used them both on track and it provides adequate braking power.
Did you go for a better brake fluid with higher boiling point? The pads and discs also play a bit part too.
That understeer is probably because you have a huge wing on the back without a splitter in front. Downforce is all about balance.
Hey LeanCheese5, you are indeed correct in saying that downforce is about balance but I wasn't going particularly fast in the video for downforce to play a part in the car's aerodynamics. I'm pretty sure you have to be going 70+ for wind to have an effect.
Understeer has been rectified with a simple alignment 👍👍

Hi Bon, Where can I get a Pillar pod like yours that holds your AEM gauges?
Not sure the suspension setup is where it want to be?
An effective wing allows you high speed stability and (if set up right) will slightly understeer...This is much (MUCH) more confidence inspiring as the terrifying high speed snap spin feels under control above 80mph)...Confidence means the driver is much faster on the track. As the car slows down more weight comes on the front wheels and the front end acts like it is on rails while the rear is much more lively making it easy to tighten a corner with a bit of throttle. you also get much better turn in at low speed making it perfect for autocross.
Which brings me back to the car setup where you got a little understeer in the corner....set up right the back end should feel more lively and the front planted on rails. Just my thoughts anyway!

Many thanks for the informative and descriptive comment. I have been on track quite a few times and in my experience, it depends on how the driver wants the car to feel too. By all means you are correct but setting a car up with aero is quite tricky. I will keep trying different setups.
PerformanceCars Yeah fair enough...that is a lot of car for a new track guy. Cars setup a little tail happy take a while to be comfortable with...Especially a tail snappy S2000.

Two drinks? That's a bit optimistic, unless you're using a sippy cup. I roll in an 08 CR and I can't drive with anything in my center aside from a DL and phone. Stunning car, mine is Rio as well.

Unfortunately I don't have the times I got when I went track as that was before I started this TH-cam channel. I will try to get it on track again next year though.

+Luis Ramirez Hi, the hardtop is a genuine Honda item. You can purchase a hardtop fitting kit from Honda too. This will allow you to install the hardtop safely along with the de-mister plug.

You are right that the rear rotors are thin. I've ordered some replacements but they are being shipped over from Japan so it's taking a while.

PerformanceCars What is the color code for the paint on these cars? I have a Berlina Black S that I was trying to decide whether to use Spoon yellow, or Ferrari yellow for accents. If you reply I would greatly appreciate it! Personally watching the video I like the look of your modified S's color. But as far as accents go, the brighter yellow may look better against the Berlina. Then there's the whole, Spoon is Japanese, and Ferrari is Italian, so definitely go for Spoon. But then there's the whole, screw what you bandwagoners think, I'm doin' me, followed by mass adoration, and mass hatred, ha! But seriously, I really just want to know the color codes. But feel free to throw in your two cents everyone on earth. Nice cars btw.

+Julian Mcclellan It's a belt driven compressor, all superchargers are belt driven compressors. Supercharger compressors are either "roots" "screw" or "centrifugal"(the pro charger) types of compressors. A turbine is a "fan" driven by Gaseous flow, exhaust which in turn drives a "compressor" in a turbo. The main difference is that a supercharger takes power from your crank to run, a turbo uses the unspent "free" energy wasted in your exhaust to run.

+PerformanceCars I totally can understand that ^^ I mean I am a Honda guy, and got myself two civic sedans a 91 and a 96. U are funny dude, u got two S2k and talking about no money :D :D They arent cheap cars but i think the price is good for the performance u get with that cars.
What cars would i like to see u own ? I thought about that question and a couple of cars came to my mind. Since I am a honda guy I would love to see something like a older Honda, maybe an old CRX, they are fun little cars. But I am also a sedan guy, an older nissan sedan would be really cool, because i never had a nissan by myself (maybe in the future who knows ^^), like from the 80s or 90s would be also cool. I really like the old 80s boxy look. Or something different, non jdm. A BMW 3 Series, u could present it as a budget race car, they are dirt cheap and have good power to start. But i wouldnt drive a 3 Series if I had two S2k in the garage hahahaa. See u in the next video !

2 Civic sedans?! Have you done anything to them or just leaving them as stock? I've always thought about the E46 M3 as everytime I go to a trackday, the owners always comment about how good of a car they are. GTiR's are affordable over here but I hear that the gearboxes aren't too good on them.

Hi, yes I am from the United Kingdom. In the UK both the pre facelift and facelift S2000's were AP1's on the VIN. The S2000 on the left with the supercharger is a facelift and the one on the right is a pre facelift.

+CrxRacer805 Hey, the Spoon body kit is designed for downforce rather than outright top speed. The car has been used at Spa-Francorchamps and it does keep the car stable at high speed corners. I'm not a big fan of max speed.

+ghty1423 it's actually a comptech supercharger but they're both the same. They're both centrifugal superchargers and they function the exact same way. But nice catch.
