    This motor is still working great for me after two years of constant use, I did upgrade to my own transom mount bracket since this one had broke on me again after about another 8 months of use on my new heavier kayak. I asked watersnake if they have a transom mount conversion for this motor and they sent me one, the transom mount bracket is only 1.5lbs heavier making the total weight of my motor 7lbs which is still very light. Here is a link to how I made my new bracket to fit the transom mount in the same side position just a bit further back 👍. Full on water review and speed test for this small yet awesome motor.

    great vid, i just bought a 24lb thrust watersnake, i was told by Jarvis Walker not to use lithium batteries? can cook your motor with too many volts (14) instead of 12.8v from lead acid?

    Can you troll this on low mode and it’ll last all day? Do you have it running most of the day?

    • @StatesideFishing
      @StatesideFishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a 55 amp hour lithium battery that lasts about 8 hours of constant use. This watersnake motor draws the same power wether on high speed or low speed. I recharge the battery after each use.

  • @TheMrpalid
    @TheMrpalid 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    How long will it run if you run continuously on high speed and how many amp hour is your battery?

    • @StatesideFishing
      @StatesideFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not drained it fully in one day but from my experience I would say 6-8 hours with my 50 ah Lithium Pros battery. After a longer day on the river or lake (7-10) hours I usually have 20-30% battery life left and I’ve traveled between 5-10 miles, I use the battery only for the trolling motor.

    • @pa_maj.MARTINI-van-MAN
      @pa_maj.MARTINI-van-MAN 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@elemeno9463 It uses 20ah on full and 9ah on low. A 50ah lithium battery can be discharged to around 90% flat so just shy of 2 1/2 hours on full throttle and 5 hours on half throttle.
      Also, while fishing, one could be anchored up or using a drogue on/off over a couple of hours plus drifting. When folk say they get a days fishing and then some, they usually fail to give the details which is rather misleading, unintentional but misleading; that's why I like the maths for working it out.
      If the motor specifications are correct and the battery is Good plus has accurate specifications then the maths is very accurate 👍 Easy example = 22Ah lithium battery - 10% leaves 19.8Ah of use ( lets round it up to 20Ah ) so 1 hour at full and at half power 10Ah=2 hours of continuous use.
      Remember that lead acid batteries should only be discharged to 50% max so a 100Ah battery has 50Ah of usable energy. I hope this helps 👍

    I’m really thinking about getting the rod holder mount. Have you flipped yet? I was told if you have the motor on the side you can flip the kayak!?

    • @StatesideFishing
      @StatesideFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have flipped it on purpose during summer to test the limits and it is a stable kayak compared to my sit in that flips easily and weighs much less. My 19lb battery acts as a counterweight slid over to the left side of the rear compartment. Motor weighs 7lbs with the transom mount bracket, lightest trolling motor on the market.

    Do you have a vid on the install of bracket for trolling motor ?

    • @StatesideFishing
      @StatesideFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t, I used a metal bracket underneath to act as a support for the plastic and screws. I removed the rod holder and it fit into the spot perfectly, this way I can always remove it and put it back to stock if I wanted to change it in the future.
