Been watching hoops for 40+ years and Larry Legend is in the top 3 greatest players I’ve ever seen. Nothing he couldn’t do on the floor and was probably the greatest clutch player of all time.

I want to add one thing here, Magic had just got diagnosed with Hiv and nobody wanted to play with him. Larry said he would only play if his friend (Magic) could be part of it too because that's the only way he could believe they would win. Bird and Magic were the best of friends!

When Larry played my Houston Rockets he could always get under Ralph Sampson’s skin. Ralph had a short fuse and Larry could always light it. Even though Larry was on the other side, it was fun watching Ralph get technicals.

My two favorite players. Magic and Bird. I started watching the NBA in 1969. I stopped in 1976. When they came in 1979, I started watching again. They sure saved the NBA for me.

I agree about the audio and lighting. you're sweet though. the Bird Gang is huge and if you start up a rabbit hole of his videos we're here for it all day. (Speaking as someone who's been in marketing for 30 years, it'll also grow your channel quick fast.)
oh, and yes, def pause when you talk--which you did, but pausing constantly will annoy other viewers too (which you didnt 😊). you'll get the hang of it quick--and dont forget that it's still YOUR channel. dont try to please everyone cause you cant--some folk hate no matter what you do lol
Most don't mind pausing to talk as long as you rewind a bit to maintain the flow of the play and audio. Pausing allows your audience to hear what you are sharing or asking, which is why we're watching your "reaction " video. 🙂
You might also put the link to the original "source" video in the description or as a pinned comment. Then folks can watch it uninterrupted on their own afterward, if they wish, AND the original creator gets some love, too.

There is of course Clayton Crowleys Making The Case series, Larry Bird is one of the 8 he did for players, making the case (as the title implies) for said player being the GOAT.
The ONLY player to average at least 26pts, 10Rb and 6Asts across his entire career and quite probably the best all around player ever to grace the basketball court, he could literally do everything. This includes defending especially in his earlier years, 3x 2nd Team All-Defence as a Small Forward? 3rd place in the DPOY running in 1983? 1 steal away from a quadruple double and 2 steals away from the record at the time (11) after only playing 3 quarters?
Not to mention the trash talking stories and match/series stories littered about in numerous videos. One of my favourites is The Best Larry Bird Underdog Story Ever Told by the channel Prime Larry Bird.

@ElRayDraco the passing re-edit video is great, but 50 Amazing Assists is good too, footage is better quality. it cuts out about 20 outlet passes that the other vid has, but they didn't need to include that many anyway lol. the re-edit has some cool passes that 50 Assists left out so you def should see both. Bird highlight films released by the NBA tend to be higher quality as well, though you may need to pause a little more to avoid copyright (not sure how hard NBA is policing that right now). there's a 10 part series of shorter Bird highlights that show a lot of stuff you dont see in other videos, and probably wouldnt if you didnt watch the full games themselves. some of the stuff he did in the earlier vids from rookie to '84 season are incredible. ridiculous lays.

Nice react. Little tip though: When you wanna talk, pause it then knock it back 5 seconds and start again. Talking over these kind of videos causes you to miss stuff. That said, check out Larry Bird the Greatest Trash Talker Of All Time and his re-edited passing video. He could do everything at a high level with no holes in his game.

1:45 back in the day Bird was pretty much the only one doing the step back. He wasn’t the first to do it but he was one of the first, and he did it well and often. That’s what James Worthy meant when he said “Jordan made you look slow but Bird made you look stupid.

@@ElRayDraco check out some Jordan VS Bird game highlights. most times Bird won in the regular season, and in the playoffs Jordan is 6-0. and yea bird had the better team but Jordan is still supposed to be jordan.. and Bird was STILL the best player on HIS team..bird was atleast top 3 in EVERY stat on his team (1st in most stats)..
There's a good reason you heard of Larry Bird and Magic Johnson as a rivalry. Those two saved basketball and made it what it is. Without them the nba wouldn't be what it is. Look it up to this day they have two achievements nobody else can come close to! Number one if you look up who has the highest win percentage number one is magic and number two is bird and it's by like less than 1 percent between the two and number three isn't even close! The second is when they first met was in college and that game by itself is the highest watched live game of all time to this date! They saved basketball and made it what it is! The nba of today was made on the back of Bird and Magic! Anybody who is doing good is because they did what they did! Hell a lot of people say they like Lebron but Lebron even has said several times he learned what he does from Bird and doesn't feel right being compared to him! Those two saved basketball so others can still play it! Without magic and bird you wouldn't be watching basketball!
