In this video we share few solutions to fix the issue, "A Problem Was Detected With the TrueDepth Camera. Face ID has been Disabled". We also the reason why you might be seeing this error message when you go to FaceID and passcode. If it's a software related or minor hardware issue, it will be an easy fix following the steps outlined in this video.

Mine is moisture (iPhone 12 Max Pro) - I just replaced the screen protector and I placed the moistened wipe on top where the speaker is whilst preparing the setup. This has fogged up the camera. I will now wait it out 😢 - this is a refurbished phone since my insurance replaced my brand new stolen one ages ago, so I suspect the quality was not as good if it were brand new. As I remember filming under water with my XR and nothing ever happened. My sister still uses my XR. Oh well.

Hard reset did the trick for me, which is interesting because I've already did a factory reset last night and that didn't fix my issue, after replacing logic board+front camera+earpiece. I had the option to start setup faceid but after 1 second the camera stopped with error message "faceid not available", and never changed to circle.
I was just about to take this garbage apart again to check if I messed up any connections... but fortunately I came across your video and it worked.

Unbelievable that phone is built stronger than face id

Yep nothing in this video worked. No option for me to reset Face ID, and after a factory reset nothing worked.

Which one worked? Resting Face ID? I'm in the same boat, same message popped up after dropping it and getting it wet, but resetting face ID didn't work for me, neither did a hard reset(software reset). I think my last option is to factory reset it

@@estebancortes2848 I saw another guy said a factory reset didn't work if the cause is it being dropped. Seems like it's common for face ID to break when being dropped. So I think we're shit out of luck, and it's $500+ to get it fixed. Maybe I'll open it up eventually and see if a wire got disconnect or something, but for now my password is 7777 lol

I heard a splash as I took my son out the tub saw it was my iphone; now my Face ID doesn’t work bc of the depth camera. Going to try all these and hope it works 😅

I went to a beach yesterday and some beach sand crept into my phone and the face id does not work now. i tried all the options, clean-up as much as I could, , but it does not help(but not backup/restore). I believe the camera is damaged and might need a visit to apple store.

I can’t force restart my phone. I have to hold in the power button and volume up bottom. When it pops up with the slide to power off, it always has emergency swipe underneath and if I keep holding the buttons, it will call emergency. So I can’t force restart it. I have to swipe ?
Disable sos from the settings.
Then volume up release down release and just press the power button until apple logo appears.

Initially mine work after the first restart, I was able to click on setup Face ID but afterwards it shows that error again…
first method worked for some seconds until i was setting up my faceID, it suddenly popped up again, that the TRUE DEPTH camera has an error or damage.. Right now i've put it inside the RICE box, hoping it absorb the moist (if there is) inside my rotten phone
when i go to set up my face id it neevr changes to the cirlce, it just stays on put ur head in the frame

Unfortunately fix did not work for me. I hold IphoneX (OS: 16.7)
- On visit to nearby Apple Store - technician mentioned an issue and it will cost me 160$
- It is definitely not my fault as I take utmost care + no-wear n tear
- seems like time to upgrade which I was planning it earlier but newer iPhone models did not excite me enough.
