Lug soldering tip. Fill the lug halfway with soldier and stick the cable in. The heat will immediately flow into the cable. Add shrinktube and your done. I did prototype work for Ford's for 11 years. (Yes im old) fyi all connections had to be soldiered, even pins.
I prefer the stock bumpers and flares, thats more because i like seeing the meaty tires being visible on the back, and the round rear works really well for that

Just beware of the spikey blue shell! p.s.s. for real, though, I did Kart a lot as a kid and I can see that you are trying to stay full throttle around most of the corners, which is good, but on the ones you feel yourself scrubbing through the turn with the front end, instead of entering full throttle, simply lift off the throttle slightly, so that the front tires can bite and then get back on it full.

Holy cow, a group of us were standing around inside and saw that wreck through the window. Didn't realize it was you. You were definitely much faster than the 20 and clicking off some pretty quick laps after your pitstop. I think thats the same kart I had in my race after pitting, super fast but also loose. A couple things you can do to help are use up the whole track some of the turns you have an extra foot you could have worked with. Then it's hard to do, I struggle with it but pay attention to where you want to be when you exit the turn, you'll more naturally hit your marks giving you more speed out of the turn. Im signed up for next season so if you need any help let me know we'll get you going good!

You gotta use the "jump" technique when you're trying to pass and it's that close, jumping slightly outta the seat revs the engine, it's almost like a clutch kick. Those few rpm's are all you need to make the pass.
Love the build Taylor!! Have you considered doing a wrap rather than paint in case you mess up panel drifting? Would make it a lot easier to change out doors and fenders if need be.

Dude, next time youre doing one of the big lugs, stick the lug in a vice, heat it and fill it with solder and then while its still liquid feed the wire in and hiold it till it solidifies. so much easier than feeding the solder in after the wire has been inserted.

Do they ever have actual karting events there, or just rental karts? I really like that track layout. Lots of places to pass and it rewards momentum. Might be worth dragging my 125 stock moto kart over for an event some time.

Idk if I missed it, but you might want to clear wrap parts of your cage, so that the paint doesn't get dinged up when you're getting in and out, door gets bashed, etc. Looks too good to mess up!

Taylor you drove some pretty good lines karting and you have some skill at overtaking if I were you as well as the drifting I would do some more karting then see if you can find some track events. The MX5 is looking like a real beast in the making now. I know the time and effort you have put in to it you should be proud.
Taylor you should get together with Cleetus McFarlad (Garrett) and try out their shifter carts. Guarantee you will want to get one and race carts in the off-season.
I like the the stock bumpers with the lips on them. The full kit nice but you see it too much it nice to see the stock bumper with lip and has a nice clean look to stock with lip

For the cables you made, put the eyelet connector in a vise, heat it up and fill with solder, push fitting into connector and crimp/ heat shrink

I made a karting video too, it's weird up here the best karting are the electric ones, and then occasionally they have winter snowkarting.

Regarding the Miata....what about the hard-top? Separate paint and then install? Missing my NA, but I just had more vehicles than parking spaces.
You need to get an axle stand for the lift. We have them at work and it's amazing.
