How would they stay in business if they paid people what the retail value of the th car was? More importantly the average automobile dealer is not in the business of dealing with cars like this. This is why they will not pay you anywhere near the ultimate value of the vehicle because they need to mitigate the risk of holding a car like this. Consider it will sit in inventory and may take a year or more to sell. Every day it could be stolen, or vandalized, do you have any idea what it costs to buy or fix body panels on something g like this? Do you have any idea what it costs to paint something like this with materials that are up to OE standards? It's easily triple or quadruple what it costs for a Ford or Audi. Now consider this single car being stolen or vandalized would like having this happen to four or five vehicles at the same time. You neee to figure in the riskes involved for the average dealer and put yourself in the shoes of owning the dealership. 80k sounds good... but remember, they are in business to make money.. if it was only worth 80k, and they give him 80k.. how are they going to sell it and make money on it? plus they have to pay employees to wash it, advertise it, list it, do all the paperwork etc.. so there is some more money lost...plus big companies like that have lots of overhead to pay..so they will never give you what its worth.. they offer 80k, so they can sell it for full retail and make an easy 20 or 30grand..

your lambo is really old, but newer supercars are even more of a moneypit than this. As much as I hate to say it, and I wish you had something more new, you're better off dropping a couple thousand once in a while for repairs and making the lower payments on a car that has already gone through most of its depreciation than paying for a rapidly depreciating newer car. You will be able to keep the lambo (theoretically) for another couple years and sell it afterwards without losing too much money. financially it's the "better" decision

This is not the car Appraisal process. They only take the year and the miles and give you a wholesale "carmax value" which is always half of what your car is worth.

I used to work there and honestly that is a damn good offer for your year Gallardo with the mileage. What they do with it is send it through their own auction and other used car dealers will buy it. Imo they won't get 80k at auction for this so i'd take it even though you're not looking to sell it because if they realize they messed up that bad after your week is up they can change it.

If you do sell it you could get some mods for your other cars, but I don't know if the selling price will give you something cooler than that Lamborghini.
This is not the car Appraisal process. They only take the year and the miles and give you a wholesale "carmax value" which is always half of what your car is worth.
All these people saying it's a good deal... I have no clue if it's worth that or not but your falling for Carmax tricks. They give ridiculously low prices and then when they give you a half decent offer it's a "must take"

I used to work there and honestly that is a damn good offer for your year Gallardo with the mileage. What they do with it is send it through their own auction and other used car dealers will buy it. Imo they won't get 80k at auction for this so i'd take it even though you're not looking to sell it because if they realize they messed up that bad after your week is up they can change it.
Actually that car is worth over 100K. Carmax will never pay what your car is actually worth because they have to make a profit. I would not take that offer if I was him and I'm sure he isn't going to sell it.
