Kara from Justice League Action looked like a monster to me when I first saw her, bigger eyes than animes. Then I've watched the whole show... and at the end I was in love with her!
I always appreciated how the Justice League Unlimited series gave her character arc a conclusion. She wasn't just Superman's cousin, she was her own character, growing up to become a hero (with one CRAZY ass clone as her rival).

It's REALLY bad when you look at Supergirl's 1960s comics and she's better written then than nearly all of these cartoons or live action portrayals. Her likability is off the charts in some of those comics, and she's mentally 3x stronger than some of these newer cartoons.

I just know she still looks and sounds like a teenager which that's still considered a "girl" not young woman and they referred her as a "kid" but I always thought about Supergirl as a character to relate to for being different since I have autism and that would be like if I have superpowers that can't be control if anyone knows what I mean.

Although they changed Kara from being Clark’s biological cousin to adopted cousin due to crisis on Infinite Earths killing, and erasing Kara from existence.
I feel that, if and when she gets a movie, the opening should be of the destruction of Krypton... from her point-of-view. Give the audience a new look at one of the most well-known events in fiction. And arguably a more horrifying one, since it could be a grounded perspective. Not the epic fight of Man of Steel or the "You are our last hope"-type moment from the first Reeves film. But a complete disaster á la San Andreas, but worse.
It's weird how unusual it was to hear a word like "kill" in cartoons, even in the Timmverse where a LOT of characters died. Superman was especially shocking because they straight up executed a character.
