Not being allowed to be sad because someone else has it worse is like not being allowed to be happy because someone has it better.
It’s okay to be sad, scared and everything else you might be feeling right now.
    Wishing you all the best!

I'll talk to you. In 2005 at the age of 26, I was diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma. Kidney cancer. Now, here I am 13 years later at the age of 39 and I am cancer free. Its frightening. It sucks. BUT, its manageable. Love ya girl! You got this!

Hi Meghan. I am a retired oncology nurse, and I can tell you that you are saving so many lives by sharing your journey! So many of my patients told me that they didn't go with their gut when things weren't quite right because they were afraid to hear bad news or because they felt invincible. Your bravery will inspire Dr. visits and exams. Because the earlier cancer is detected, your story will help to deeply effect the outcome of their prognosis. I am so proud of you Meghan for taking us along and being so open. Cancer is scary and it sucks, but it doesn't define you. You are an amazing, kind, loving person who happens to have melanoma, not the other way around. Anytime you need to talk, vent, cry or complain, we will listen. I will listen! I'm praying, hoping, and rooting for the speediest recovery possible. I love you and your generous heart and soul!

there is NOTHING oncology can do for anyone with cancer Dr Max Gerson proved this its all about using people for money. nothing they do can reheal a cancer patients immune system so no we dont need to inspire anyone to go cut burn poison. aside from being diagnosed thats as far as oncology should do.

I know a lot of people are saying they’re sorry and feel horrible, as do I. But Megan, you’re so strong and so is your family. Everyone around you is here to support you, including your audience. I know Cancer can be beyond terrifying, especially when you’re the one diagnosed with it, but I know that in the end things will work out as they should and it’s all part of your Gods plan for your family. I wish you all the best and send your family all the love and support possible no matter what, even if you didn’t receive this diagnosis. ❤️

There is never anything anyone can say that will make you feel better, but be strong and rely on your faith. The Universe works in strange ways. You are home with your family in a familiar place where you have a network of people who love you. You have to see it that way and think that if you were in Europe it would be a much different thing. You WILL get through this!

Hang in there. In 99 I was diagnosed with a rare form of oral cancer (non smoker and non drinker), lost my lower left jaw replaced with bone / skin from my leg which resulted in a big scar BUT no chemo and here I am still cancer free. Scarey but going thru these things has ways of strengthening our faith. You will be in my prayers.

    Meghan,
First of all, you are very normal to have those feelings you described. You are very fortunate to catch this early. And you are going to be deluged by advice from everyone, so mine is hardly helpful. But I will tell you my experience. Four years ago,I had melanoma on my left temple. The biopsy identified it, then I had a fairly large size of skin removed which healed nicely. Fortunately for me, that was all that was needed for it. I also had throat cancer 5 years ago which required radiation. Since then I have had good reports every time it is checked.
I say all that to say this: every time is different and every treatment is unique. And, with God's grace, I have survived those and am still an active Christian man who can share my story and encourage others in similar circumstances. I believe the same for you, young lady. With His grace, you too will survive this little interruption in your life. And I believe that you will be a stalwart example for your children who love you very much.
May God shower you with His peace and comfort throughout this ordeal!

@Megan and @Tim Combes Thank you, both for sharing. I had a mole removed from my left cheek under my left eye [that was benign] thank you, God. All those feelings came back as I watched your video and read some comments. My story was written in our local newspaper. People were coming into the Bakery I was working at and had all kinds of questions. Let me just add this - my story was in the paper because I answered a question from one of the columnists "Do you have concerns about your health and do not have the money to go to the doctor." It was a journey through paperwork to get funding, drs appts and very easy surgery . God sends us Blessings in strange ways...but He always follows through! ❤️

It's pretty common for Mormons,Orthodox Jews,Amish, etc. to have a higher rate of medical Problems do to in-breeding....it's a no-brainer. I used to be friends with a LDS family, every kid had Leukemia...and they kept having more kids in hopes of using them as bone-marrow donors,,etc.....and their mom was quite nutty;using their kids probably in hopes of getting more attention,etc......quite sick the way some people live and deliberately do harmful things all in the way of religion or whatever.

Its in all walks of life I believe in God but he took my father with cancer at 40 yrs old with 8 kids and no I am not jewish or mormon or amish, My family is PA dutch or german. You do not have the right to judge anyone. Maybe you should follow what i told my kids if you don't have anything nice to say do not say anything.

Oh what I said was not Politically Correct? too bad the truth stuck a chord? Here's a little more info for you. A LDS girl I was involved with (a triangle situation)back in my high-school days....she chose to marry her distant cousin...where if you looked at their family tree...they were blood-related....some of her sons....the Knoorps ages...have serious medical problems.
In LDS culture,it's quite common for the family DNA tree to be one giant circle..related to this person and that person...going all the way back to the LDS Founders.
Anyone that walks into a Potential DNA malady minefield...it should not come as a surprise....little empathy empathy or sympathy from me or any other rational person. Two people likely carrying a "unwanted" Recessive gene will likely spawn problematic unwanted (yet predictable) Medical issues.

Megan, this was it for me. I've been putting off making the appointment. You and I share the same coloring. I just called. Thanks for talking about it. I've had quite a few family members with skin cancer and even a great grandparent pass away from it. Just because your news wasn't the worst imaginable, doesn't make it any less hard to deal with. You're ahead of me by a few steps, so I am interested to see what the actual appointment is like.

Melanoma is horrible, if you have an oddly shaped mole that's growing in size and splotchy looking you should always consult with a dermatologist. For females the legs are the most common site i guess for men it's the chest.

    • @michellemartin4847

I have Melanoma and are from Australia ... the first one I got was actually on my lower right arm...I have a horrible scar BUT I am alive. That was the choice if I had not had it removed within the next month I would not be here now. I had a second one on my back 6 months later and just continue to fight.. Skin Cancer is the worst cancer as it is incredibly smart and outsmarts any medicine we have for it. Get checked everyone...

Michelle Martin my brother was the same way. He was 48 with a Stage III Melanoma on his back. It was no bigger than a pencil eraser. He went back for a wide excision and has a hole the size of a cereal bowl in the middle of his back but he is still here. If he had not gone when he did they said he would have been gone in 2-3 months. Getting them checked is and not having it be anything is better than the alternative. Thank you for sharing.

*13 year cancer survivor here* The emotional process one goes through once they hear those words is such a huge range of things. It is totally normal and OK to feel both grateful and scared at the same time or to feel sad and worried. Any emotion you feel because of this diagnosis is normal because it is YOURS. I will be praying for you, and you will be amazed when you get through the other side, amazed at all of the ways Heavenly Father cares for you, and His presence in your life evidenced by the kindness of your friends and family. BTW, expect a range of emotions from your kids as well, even though they have seen you be casual about it, they will still be scared and confused as well. Praying for y'all.

Life is just different after those words. Just knowing that our body grows cancer is just not nice at all. It doesnt have to change life in a negative way or depressive way, but there is just something inside that changes. I am five years out and my life is pretty much BC and AC and I am just not the same as I used to be. Mine was kidney cancer.

Meghan.....In tears with you. I can't imagine that feeling. I hate that you are having to go through this. Why do good people have bad things happen to them? I don't know, I lost my son from a motorcycle accident when he was 19 years old and had to dig deep into my faith. But I know you trust Jesus and His love will speak to you. . We are not promised a perfect life on this earth, but in the one to come. Praying the Lord calm your nerves and bring healing to your leg.

Maranatha Manor bad stuff happens to good people, but life never makes us face more than we can endure. None of us get out of life alive. Burying a child goes against the natural order of things in life and my heart grieves with you over the loss of your young son. People who have faith can rest in the comfort of it, these trials are known to drive people further into their faith or further from it. Both my parents ultimately lost their lives due to complications of their cancer. My sister has just finished her first round of treatment for cancer too. It see us the good are the first to be afflicted by these trials but That does not mean their God is any less benevolent or their standing with God more compromised. My mother lived a biblical faith and her counsel has always resonated with me. "God promises that though we pass through the valley of death he will comfort us. He does not promise the absence of affliction, but merely the deliverance through it." So yes bad things happen to good people, disease strikes without prejudice, preference or predestiny... Hang in there

It's okay to cry. Stamp your feet, swear, lament and be pissed. If it was okay for Job to do it in front of God, it's okay for you to do it too. Anger can be healthy when it is recognized and acknowledged. Later other emotions will arise including joy and gratitude, but be here now with the one in front of you. Prayers for your new journey.

My family has been touched by so much cancer, we’ve almost been trampled. When I saw the title of your video, my heart dropped. But, from what you’ve said, and from what I understand, you are one of the very fortunate people who will get through this! If you don’t need cancer treatment whatsoever, they caught it early, and they don’t feel there’s anything to worry about after the procedure. I never thought I could feel a connection with a family on TH-cam, but I do with yours. It almost feels like my extended family, mainly because mine is so big to begin with. Isint it amazing that you set up your home base, established your kids in the community for support, have a stable home to recover in when this hit you? You were traveling the world with your family when you suddenly had an urge to settle in for a while, and in your other videos you commented over and over again that you didn't know why you felt that way. Seems like someone knew what was going to be on you plate, and was calling you to prepare. You didn't even know it at the time, but here you are. Amazing. Thank you for sharing.

Yes, it’s really terrifying to have a doctor tell you that you have the dreaded “C” word. I was told the same 4 years ago. Uterine Cancer. You let yourself think of all the awful things going on in your body and all the awful things you’re going to go through to be healed and healthy. They not knowing was the worst part. Thankfully a hysterectomy took care of my cancer. I have checkups every 6 months and will probably move to once a year checkups after this year. I am going to pray for you to have amazing results and for you to be healed and healthy soon! Look to God and lean on him. You are faithful and that will carry you through no matter what. Blessing to you and your sweet family. 😘

  • @monicaw5036
    @monicaw5036 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

I'm so sorry for your news, my mother had stage 4 on her shoulder which they took more of a deep chunk off of her but then she also had to go to Duke University for immunotherapy. It is where they take her own cancer cells, kill it then inject it back into you. Anyway she had to go back very often and have everything checked to make sure it's all good and it's been I think 25 years now and so far so good. Just take a deep breath, pray about it and know in your heart God will take care of you. You've got so many of us here that love you and your family and we will also keep you in our prayers. Open your heart and feel the love, it will carry you thru. Take care and just rest. See this is another reason everything fell into place when you came home. God blessed you with being home and in your home while you recoup and get on your feet. Most everything happens for a reason, we just don't always see his great plan until later. Take care and God Bless you❤🙏❤🙏❤🙏❤

Sending you big hugs! I'll never forget the day my dad told me he had prostate cancer, it was one of the worst days of my life. Luckily he's kicked it's butt and is pretty much back to his normal self. It's so good you've been to the doctors early. You know your body better than anyone else, you know what's normal for you and its important that if you notice something not normal then you need to get it checked, no matter how big or small it is. My dad caught it early which helped him immensely.

I'm sure most people would say that you have to be strong and not allow the cancer to frighten you but you're human and you cant help but feel vulnerable and emotional! I think Megan, you should release all your feelings negative and positive regarding the cancer diagnosis to Jesus who wants to listen (can't help but listen) to you. I'll pray now that the leg operation will go well with you and you'll be cancer free forever!🙏❤️
