You can't beat that last-minute, I-Can't-Believe-It finish to a game. That OT goal was actually something special, too, and I love that Anderson scored both of those final two goals after going so long without scoring.
THough they didnt win, I think the 17-18 Knights run was a bigger cinderella run and probably the biggest in the history of the 4 major North American sports. Nothing against LA though.
Fun interesting fact: Supposedly, Price's wife told him before the start of the playoffs something in the likes of: :"Go win your cup, don't come back until it's over" So Price has been living in a hotel and is not living with his family right now, he is all focused on getting his cup. I don't know for a fact if it's true but if it is, it's pretty neat.
The 2 pick before him made sense for their teams...Flyers needed a Def so they got York and Florida needed a goalie so they got Spencer Knight...before that, it's the archaic view on small players...even if Kucherov, Kane, DeBrincat, Gaudreau St-Louis and so many other are beasts...Bad scouting...
As a Ducks and a Habs fan, I’d like to see a ref take an “accidental” high stick to the face in the next game. The officiating was brutal the entire game. But that no call in OT was a despicable!
Price really has to be the frontrunner for the Conn Smythe as things stand. I can't think of a case for any other player having made a stronger contribution to his team at this point.
This has got to be the ultimate, ultra, absolutely most vile DISGUSTING case of CORRUPTION of NHL referees I've EVER SEEN in my entire hockey watching life. Gary Bettman MUST RESIGN. Each of the refs in this games need to be fired.
Over reaction much? This game was poorly officiated but to say it was corruption and disgusting is excessive. Refs will have bad nights. These types of games will happen
Fascinating that in the regular season, the Habs couldn't win in overtime (until they got Caufield) but in the playoffs they haven't lost. Just like the PK numbers, the team has really turned some of their weaknesses into strengths.

From where I was, there were a lot of missed calls from the refs. For the first time since I’ve been going to home games, I’ve never heard the whole stadium chanting refs you suck!😳😂
It's bound to happen with that high forecheck they're running, especially when it's not really working and the Habs defense just moves the puck around them most of the times. Colorado defense didn't have an answer to this, but the seasoned and most importantly large size Habs top 4 have figured it out pretty well.
Vegas spent too much of its energy looking to close the game off in the first 2 periods. Habs were saving energy for late game. When late game came vegas was running on fumes while the habs hit the reserve tanks. That extra energy won them the game. This is called strategic planning.

as much as I hate it when my team gets goalied, you do have to recognize that the goalie is part of the team and great ones can singlehandedly win you games. Thats why Price gets 10.5. Nobody acts up when prime Ovi and Crosby pretty much carried their teams in games, but when a star player is a goalie people react way more. The only reason its so pronounced in the playoffs is because star skaters get shutdown by holds and slashes and trips so the goalies can shine even more.

I'm new to hockey, literally started watching the Habs when I heard about them playing Toronto in the playoffs (so yes, very new) and even I could see that the officiating in this match was absolutely atrocious. Just awful. In any sport, that sort of refereeing makes me sick.
It’s amazing to me how much I enjoy watching games when my team is not playing. I can really just relax and enjoy the hockey and the craziness that is the playoffs.
This is why I only not just love hockey, but all sports I watch. A lot of things happened to get to this result. Price being Playoff Price in that if he allows just one more goal, it doesn't get to this point. Fleury making one of the biggest blunders not just hockey, but all sports. It was Bill Buckner like between the legs as well. Anderson not only ending a long goal drought, but ending up getting the OT winner as well. When the Fleury error happened, you knew on some level how this game was going to end. In OT the no call on the high sticking that hit Perry. Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles would have made that call. Terrible officiating that only motivating the piss out of Montreal and getting the game winner. If Montreal wins this series, Fleury is forever going to be remembered for the botch. These playoffs have been a fantastic ride. I think we are on the verge of something very special happening in this year's playoffs.

They're proving this isn't a fluke, and they're proving there are no easy outs if you make it this far. No matter what happens from here, Montreal has proven they can hang with the best of them. And hey, maybe the North wasn't so bad of a division after all.
Just because a division is bad (Not saying that is really the case here), does not mean that a team from that division is bad as well. In the NFL look at how many times the Patriots won a Super Bowl when the other teams in their division were terrible.
I really liked your comment on how that non-call in OT sparked a fire under the Habs butt! Ironically, that is exactly what the doctor ordered. I hope this carries to game 4!!!!! Go Habs Go
Yep, great to see Anderson, get those goals, however this game also demonstrates something I've seen from Montreal on more than one occasion. Don't piss off the team, when they get angry they play a lot better, and tonight proved that after the stick incident with Perry. Kudos of course for Price for keeping the team in the game, he was terrific!
The Jets were done when Scheifele had the cheap shot on Evans last series. Montreal is also motivated this series because they are without their head coach right now due to COVID.
Good win, real glad they have Petry back as well, he can teach young defencemen like Romanov that to become a master of hockey one must study both sides of the ice unlike the narrow dogmatic view of the forwards dood.

Vegas Golden Refs just couldn’t get it done
You couldn't watch that game and not get emotionally invested... that was an edge-of-your seat finish. The refs definitely missed an unmissable call, but taken as a whole, that game was basically a perfect game to watch as a Habs fan. (I mean, I'm a Canucks fan, but Habs are Team Canada now.) You can't beat that last-minute, I-Can't-Believe-It finish to a game. That OT goal was actually something special, too, and I love that Anderson scored both of those final two goals after going so long without scoring.

No one talking about how Vegas looked gassed in the OT.
Vegas was playing defensively as if the players lost faith in their goalie
They Play hard in the 2 first période. They got sapped because of the tie. They were mentally exhaustif.
It's bound to happen with that high forecheck they're running, especially when it's not really working and the Habs defense just moves the puck around them most of the times. Colorado defense didn't have an answer to this, but the seasoned and most importantly large size Habs top 4 have figured it out pretty well.
They looked gassed he entire 60. Lets Go Boys, no more sloppy hockey, relying on luck.
Vegas spent too much of its energy looking to close the game off in the first 2 periods. Habs were saving energy for late game. When late game came vegas was running on fumes while the habs hit the reserve tanks. That extra energy won them the game.
This is called strategic planning.
Worse part of this game is that it'll probably be the same refs next game
Habs will still win

Watched probably 50 of the 56 Sharks games this season. The handful against the Knights, Fleury got out of the net and played the punk when he probably shouldn't have. I knew that him playing the puck too much would bite him in the ass. If the Habs go to the finals, Fleury will probably play the puck A LOT less next season
You were not alone in thinking this. It was funny bc I was listening to Jim Fox on SportsUSA and he says earlier in the game that MTL needs to keep sending it behind the net and keep pressing on Fleury playing the puck behind the net... they did. He did. It happened! And they took advantage. Ha!

Fantastic clip brother, thank you....what a game, after a game like this one, doubt may creep i to that Vegas locker room like a virus
as much as I hate it when my team gets goalied, you do have to recognize that the goalie is part of the team and great ones can singlehandedly win you games.
A friend told me about you. And I like your objective review. No bias in this. I'm subbed now.
this was an amazing game and I can't believe we're only like halfway into this series

I'm new to hockey, literally started watching the Habs when I heard about them playing Toronto in the playoffs (so yes, very new) and even I could see that the officiating in this match was absolutely atrocious. Just awful. In any sport, that sort of refereeing makes me sick.
Welcome to hockey! You picked a great time!
It’s amazing to me how much I enjoy watching games when my team is not playing. I can really just relax and enjoy the hockey and the craziness that is the playoffs.
Let's not forget that amazing backhand saucer pass from KK on the Anderson GWG BTW!!

Remember when people said Vegas in 4?
This Habs team is truly something to watch. They work damn hard and like I said before, they've earned every right to be here.
I’ve never been more convinced of the existence of hockey gods than I am tonight, oh my god!!!

A lot of fans out there don't like Vegas for their success, but to me as a Knight fan, dude, it feels like they just be teasing us. They need to pull it together.
When plays like what happened with Fleury, it is like the hockey Gods are telling us that Vegas is not winning this series.
@@dustman820 Now don't go saying that when, the gods supposedly said Col was gonna sweep. They have a one game advantage of a dumb mistake by Flower.
