    Like every country in Europe, Serbia is a nice country to live.....wonder if their winters are really cold.....right now looks very nice weather and people just go about their business.....Like always David brings the heart of every city and their citizens........Lovely!!

      Summers are usually very nice (was around 37/38c when I arrived) and Winters can be pretty cold but not horrendous. A bit like UK winters. Probably now with climate change etc it's not so bad. My Russian students tell me how in Moscow nowadays it's significantly milder in winter than 20 years ago. Southern and western Serbia are quite mountainous so can be quite snowy.

    I liked this type of video because you can discover different things like this shop, 2:31 Bojadžija a craft that doesn't exist anymore, here you could buy clothes dyes or bring clothes to be dyed. You can't see this in Belgrade anymore, only in smaller places, possibly the only one in Serbia.

      Haha thanks although I'm still learning, sometimes the typeface on monuments is difficult and I get a couple of letters confused but I'm working on it! I was in Belarus for 3 months in 2020 and Ukraine last year plus a lot of my English students are Russian. Plus I'm a language geek haha

    • @frostflower5555
      @frostflower5555 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think Cyrillic makes sense for Slavic languages. Some of them use so many diacritics in their Latin script that it gets confusing almost like French. And Polish uses W for the v sound. Russian/Ukrainian have letters that Serbian doesn't use. I heard that Ukrainian is a form of Russian that was just influenced by Polish, Lithuanian and Serbian languages hence the 10% difference.

    Greetings from Belgrade, great videos! If you're looking to visit eastern/south eastern Serbia, i would recommend you Knjaževac and Pirot. Knjaževac has preserved lots of its late 19th/20th architecture and it's located in the foothills of the Balkan mountain, and Pirot is well known for its amazing barbeque, while both of them are completely unknown to the tourists. Also, i would definitely recommend the western Serbian town of Valjevo, it's probably one of the prettiest in my opinion, with its old 19th century merchant street, Tešnjar, as a main attraction.

    • @davidostrowski679

    If you are going to visit eastern Serbia, you really should visit Pirot, it has one of the nicest promenades and it quite developed for eastern/southern Serbia and in general has some summer /beach city feel, but that might be just in my head, hahaha. But nature overall in this part is amazing so if you are into hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities like that you will like it.

      Ha I'm not great at it but thanks. It's my 5th time in Serbia, but I was in Ukraine for a couple of months last year and finally decided to make a concerted effort to learn.
