My experience. Lcp max, bullet would get stuck manually racking slide. Had to drop mag, clear stuck round. 100% reliable firing. Upgraded trigger to m-carbo. Made pleasant to shoot. Easy to load. Hard to be accurate at 20 ft+. Sloppy slide to frame lockup, rattles when shaken. Around 2000 rounds fired. BG 2.0-beautiful slide finish. Feels better quality. Fits hand better. Better texture. Beefier recoil spring, better. Higher grip. Easier to be accurate. Less felt recoil. Manually racking rounds with 12 round mag, bullet gets stuck doesn't feed, jams. Lock slide back. Drop mag. Round pops out of ejection port 15 feet across the house. At range, 111 rounds fired. Failed to feed 2nd shot, everything else flawless. Extremely hard to load 12th round in mag. 110/111.
Got my 2.0 last week and shot it 3 days ago. It blows the MAX out of the water, which I also own. S&W will sell a boatload of these. My 2.0 ran flawlessly.
Agreed. I bought an LCP Max and it was garbage. I had to send it back to Ruger because it couldn't feed three rounds in a row without jamming. My 2.0 has been flawless.
Thank you @muddyrivertactical for immediately making iwb holsters for the bodyguard 2.0! Cant wait to get your holster so i can start carrying my bodyguard 2.0!!
The odd shape of the LCP Max is what makes it so nicely concealable for appendix carry. The beavertail and and more conventional grip of the 2.0 will definitely ‘print’ more, as there’s so much more above the beltline.
I purchased your kydex pocket carry hoster for my s&w bodyguard 2.0 and love it, appreciate the video of you d where you demonstrated drawing the hoster out at a 46 degree angle , allowing the holster to snag on the pocket to ensure a safe release of the gun. I was also pleasantly pleased that my original ruger LCP fit perfectly also.
Picked up my Bodyguard 2.0 at the FFL today. It’s now my second S&W pickup in a row that arrived with a DOA front night sight. A little QC would be nice.
@@muddyrivertactical Yeah, the Shield Plus had a dead one and now this. I have a theory about the vials not standing up to the arbor press I’m pretty sure they install the things on. The factory sure doesn’t hand fit their sights.
I fired the BG 2.0 this morning at a local range and the trigger is phenomenal. Not a fan of the LCP Max. Although the SIG P365-380 is a bit larger than these two, I find it to be the perfect size .380 pistol.
Will be getting mine when I can get the model with the thumb safety (yeah, I am one of the folks that prefer it). I traded my LCP Max toward it. The other pocket .380 I own is an Sig P238, which has virtually no recoil. I look forward to having the Bodyguard as a higher capacity option.

Also I’d order a kydex pocket holster for this one just to have it as an option. I’m not a pocket carry fan but a kydex solution that doesn’t print would be good to have one hand just in case
I have always used pocket on every one of my guns through the years & never had a problem! I just don't like the feel of a OWB or IWB carry on my body! I just purchased this Bodyguard 2.0 and I know it will be a Great Carry gun for my self defense needs. At my age of 80, I will feel confident and I shoot every week at my LGR, here in sunny Florida! Thanks for a Fine Video!
I have loved my LCP Max for pocket carry, especially when going to the gym. Gym shorts are not made for IWB carry, but I can cinch the drawstrings really tight and tie them, letting me pocket carry the LCP. You make fun of the LCP Max for having rounded edges but they really help it not snag while drawing. I carry an M&P Shield Plus when wearing a belt, so I want to buy the Bodyguard 2.0 and use it for pocket carry, as long as it actually fits and doesn't snag.
Nothing wrong with the LCP max at all, it is a great pistol. It is just not anywhere near as good as the bodyguard 2.0 though. I think you will see a huge difference. Thanks for watching!
I have a lcp max and pocket carry when I feel the need to be more discreet. I don’t love the max but for size and capacity I haven’t been able to beat it. It does feel kind of cheap and rattley but has been reliable. My only issue has been when drawing and firing quickly I have found that if I don’t pull the trigger straight back, it hangs up and won’t pull. Brief release and repress the trigger and it fires. So pulling the trigger at an angle is the issue. Has anyone else experienced this? Good video. You have gotten me interested in looking at the bg2!
I recall another video where the poster had this issue, but with a different Ruger-- maybe one of the 9mms. It bothered him enough that he filed down part of the gun!
I have an LCP Max currently and I carry it everyday I go to work because it is a must that I deep conceal. I like it, can’t say I love it but in the defense of my life I’d trust it as I’ve never had any malfunctions with it. I’d at least trust it better than my knife or hand to hand for sure considering im built like a stalk of corn. I also use +p ammunition as well and I can say it is definitely a very snappy weapon and definitely my least comfortable to shoot. With all that said I got a BG 2.0 in the mail as we speak and im looking forward to giving it a shot and hopefully making it my new deep conceal carry at work and etc. I also haven’t seen any videos on anyone running +p through the bodyguard so if anyone is interested as to how that goes for me and wants an update, let me know.
@@vlogfriendsutopia So it took forever to get it but I finally got it and took it to the range and compared it directly with the max. My LCP Max has already found its home in one of my safes, the new Bodyguard easily took its position in my carry rotation! Ran another 150 rounds of Georgia Arms 95 grain TMJ through it today, flawless! 350 rounds total so far without a failure of any type...I'll call that good to go! :)
I have an IWB on order from you for my Bodyguard 2.0, but I would definitely be interested in a kydex pocket holster for carry as a backup to my duty Glock 19. Please consider it. Thank you.
Thank you for the review i recently purchased a holster from Muddy River Tactical for my Canik mc9 and since im interested in the S&W Bodyguard 2.0 this video was really helpful
All I can say is that having the right holster makes all the difference in the world. I, too, live in Florida. But using one of your IWB kydex holsters I can easily carry a Sig 226 Legion with an RDS quite comfortably. And I'm 5' 7" and weigh 185. I don't have either of these guns, but I do have a Springfield Hellcat Pro and an original Sig 365, both of which I carry with one of your holsters. Having the best holster is critical.
Very good video and review! I have and pocket carry the LCP Max regularly and have always liked the little pistol but the Bodyguard definitely looks like a step up. I’m going to have to check it out. I’ll watch for your pocket holsters to come out. Thanks again for the video!
Thank you for your videos is there anyway you can do a video on your holster for this gun the bodyguard 2.0? Just so we can see how slim and small the holster is on the gun?
I will pick up my Bodyguard 2.0 Saturday and will be ordering my holster from Muddy River as always. Thanks for the videos. I'm pretty sure that I will be selling my LCP Max.
If you made a pocket holster for this I would have had one on my order today along with the IWB. Pocket isn’t the everyday choice but some days it is the right choice.
I’ve owned both. To me, this is not close. The Bodyguard 2.0 is the superior pistol in every way except for one. If you have weaker hands, the LCP Max is easier to manipulate and the mags load much easier.
The best way I've been able to explain it to my friends is this... LCP / LCPmax/bodyguard1 is like a Ford F-150... perfectly acceptable for what it is and gets the job done... but the BG 2.0 is a Corvette... it's sexier in every way imagineable... feels better to sit in it...feels better to drive it... looks better in your driveway etc... and the beauty is... The Corvette is cheaper than the F-150 and comes with more bells and whistles...its just a better package...period.
I just drop my Ruger LCP in my pockets without the pocket holster because of the reason you stated. To avoid print in my pocket , I just put my cellphone in front of it. It doesn’t move around in my pocket and I can draw very quickly like it’s holstered from the waist. For me, the LCP Max is too small to draw from a holster
It’s not smart if you’re afraid of one in the chamber. I practiced my draw repeatedly. When drawing, I draw with the same motion as drawing from a holster and my trigger finger is positioned on the frame
I am very interested in the BG 2.0, but will probably wait a couple of months to see if there are any issues, like when the P365 came out. I have the LCP MAX, but dont shoot it well beyond 5-7 yards. I guess I will be taking a haircut on that one😢 if I ho to sell it.
The question is, are you happy with the LCP Max? Are you proficient with it? Do you like it? By all accounts, the Bodyguard 2.0 is a better pistol, but if you already have the Max, and are happy with it, it’s probably not worth it.
@@echosierra9990 For what it is, yes, a pocket pistol good for about 10 yards. Up close protection. Very snappy, you need to train with it. It's not much fun to shoot, but that's not what I have it for.
I have large hands and a Hogue sleeve on the LCP max grip makes it easier to handle. I like that its $100 less expensive too. Also the LCP max with a Galloway trigger is really much better than stock and the large trigger guard fits my fingers better.
We just got the new S&W Bodyguard 2.0 for my bride to use. We just got it a few days ago and have not been to the range yet to fire it. Being older, with less hand strength, she found it nearly impossible to rack the slide on the new Bodyguard as the guide rod spring is extremely stiff. I have looked for a lighter aftermarket spring to make it easier for her to rack the slide but have not found any yet. Do you know of any light aftermarket guide rod springs that will work with this firearm? Thank you
When are you releasing the bodyguard 2.0 pocket holster? Any eta? I have the LCP max and the 2.0 2.0 is better in every single way. I’ll be selling the max.
Great video and comparison! I wish you woulda shown your BG 2.0 holster on this vid! I get you don’t wanna feature it and make the video about the holster, but as you showed the cheap pocket holster it woulda been nice to see the Muddy River kydex one 👌
Yeah all manufactures had a while to come up with something that changed the game for this size pistol. This is first in my opinion to get it done right though!
Took my 2.0 to the range for the first time. 100 rounds with no issues. Trigger is better than LCP max. Pretty accurate, much more than I am. Will be my deep concealed weapon going forward, after a few more range trips.
Anyone saying something about any pistol would be a personal opinion....Read reviews and watch other videos and I think you will see my opinion is really close to thousands of others thoughts on the new pistol. Thanks for watching!
I just bought a bodyguard 2.0, I would love to see you make a pocket carry kydex holster for it. Right now, i'm using a sticky. I will go on your website and check out your iwb for it!
All of my pants have bellows pockets, which makes drawing very easy and reliable. The holster grabs onto the edge of the pocket on the way out and never comes out with the gun.
You just have to practice drawing with pocket carry and learn how to finger release the pocket holster and how to cover the gun when you draw. Simple training makes pocket carry the best option, like having your hand already in your pocket at the gas station.
You’re buying either pistol for self defense, it’s not a target gun so competition shooting is out. When you’re out and about and the situation turns from good to bad and you need to shoot…either gun will do the job, your not going to have time to complain about the grip or trigger pull.
You have to realize that when a product has flaws, it’s ok to state that, and when a better product is released, it’s ok to state that. Idk how you guys go around thinking every critique is a hit piece. There’s no way you looked at the LCP’s height above the grip and said “ya that’s not a recoil nightmare”, even before the BG2 was released. Come on man. There’s a reason every review I’ve seen has praised the BG2 over the LCP. I compared them in person Saturday and there was no contest, the BG2 was better.
I sold my LCP Max the day the BG2 was released. I hated the LCP but it had no challengers so I suffered with it. The Max isn’t close to being in the same class as the BG2 which I was fortunate to get right after launch. Love it.
I had a Ruger LCP max. The problem. I had with it every time. I shot it. I got a lot of blowback straight in my eyes. Maybe it was just the one I had but i couldn't stand the thing.
I have experience the same issue as well with the LCP Max. Might be because of how loose everything is on the LCP Max. Just picked up the BG 2.0 and took it to the range yesterday and it does not do this. This gun is a fine piece of machinery and it is living up to all the hype.
If you want a pocket gun , get the LCP11- 6 +1 it really fits in your pocket. If you want a 380 that shoots nice , but does not fit in your pocket, get the bodyguard 11. Personally if it won’t fit in my pocket comfortably, than I’m going with a 9 mm

I have looked for a lighter aftermarket spring to make it easier for her to rack the slide but have not found any yet. Do you know of any light aftermarket guide rod springs that will work with this firearm? Thank you
I have not heard of any yet with it being brand new still.
Thanks for watching
When are you releasing the bodyguard 2.0 pocket holster? Any eta?
I have the LCP max and the 2.0
2.0 is better in every single way. I’ll be selling the max.
For the bodyguard we will probably release next week!

I wanna see side by side vs Kahr p380
We will try to get it added to our schedule. Thanks for watching
In my opinion... These two pistols excel at pocket carry. If you're going to carry IWB then consider a micro or compact 9mm..
In my opinion with how they designed this Bodyguard 2.0 it excels at more than anything else in its category
Great video and comparison!
I wish you woulda shown your BG 2.0 holster on this vid! I get you don’t wanna feature it and make the video about the holster, but as you showed the cheap pocket holster it woulda been nice to see the Muddy River kydex one 👌
Thanks for watching and your support!
Do you know it compares to the Security 380
Totally different size pistols
@@muddyrivertactical how's the recoil comparison between them... and the racking difficulty?
Glock missed out for not updating the 42 with a 42X, or even a smaller 42X in 32 acp
Yeah all manufactures had a while to come up with something that changed the game for this size pistol. This is first in my opinion to get it done right though!
Much thanks !
You're welcome!
Took my 2.0 to the range for the first time. 100 rounds with no issues.
Trigger is better than LCP max. Pretty accurate, much more than I am.
Will be my deep concealed weapon going forward, after a few more range trips.
I’ve seen a couple vids where the shooter was getting slide bite! Did y’all experience any ?
Not at all for us. Thanks for watching
Is the mag release reversible?
Can someone point me in the direction of a good pocket holster for the Bodyguard 2.0? Vedder does not have an option.
we are releasing our new pocket holsters next week and will have for both these models for sure
@@muddyrivertactical I’ll be sure to check them out. Appreciate it.

It sounds like most of the differences are your opinion. Also, it looks like the S&W could give a good slide bite with your hand up high
Anyone saying something about any pistol would be a personal opinion....Read reviews and watch other videos and I think you will see my opinion is really close to thousands of others thoughts on the new pistol.
Thanks for watching!
Do you have a holster you recommend for IWB with the BG 2.0?
IWB Kydex holster or out pocket holster

I just bought a bodyguard 2.0, I would love to see you make a pocket carry kydex holster for it. Right now, i'm using a sticky. I will go on your website and check out your iwb for it!
Will be out this week!

Wonder if they could chamber it in 9mm…😮
they did. it's called Shield Plus
I recently ordered a holster for my 2.0.Any idea when it will ship?
All Kydex orders are roughly 7-8 business days to ship. Thanks for your order!
All of my pants have bellows pockets, which makes drawing very easy and reliable. The holster grabs onto the edge of the pocket on the way out and never comes out with the gun.
Glad you haven’t had any issues. Thanks for watching
Getting the Shield Plus CComp first!
Should be a good one
It doesn’t seem like you carry the holster for this bodyguard 2.0 yet.
Have it in all our holsters

I’ll take two please!
Thanks for watching
Thanks for the video can you compare it to the Sig 365 in 380 ?
We appreciate you watching!
I think the SW is a striker fired vs the max is internal hammer fired. For what it’s worth
You guys made my kydex pocket holster for my max BTW. Love your holsters have 3 now I think
Thanks for your support! New pocket holsters are coming!

Can the body guard shoot +p ammo
You just have to practice drawing with pocket carry and learn how to finger release the pocket holster and how to cover the gun when you draw. Simple training makes pocket carry the best option, like having your hand already in your pocket at the gas station.
Thanks for watching!
You’re buying either pistol for self defense, it’s not a target gun so competition shooting is out. When you’re out and about and the situation turns from good to bad and you need to shoot…either gun will do the job, your not going to have time to complain about the grip or trigger pull.
Being as proficient as possible with whatever you choose is main thing. No pistol will ever make up for training
I just got an lcp max too 😢
LCP max is a good little gun too, it’s just not in same league as the bodyguard 2.0
Trigger in the bodyguard out performs the max in every aspect.
Thanks for watching!
Can’t wait to get BG 2.0 💯🔥
You will enjoy it
Man, I'm a customer of yours and relatively happy with your product but this sounded and felt like a Ruger LCP Max hit piece. Just sayin'
Just honesty from someone not tied to anyone brand. Appreciate your support!
Love it.
I literally carry my bodyguard in my pocket. No holster
Brave move not to have trigger guard protected…
That’s stupid. Get a proper holster. Be responsible.
Yes on the pocket holster
In the works!

I had a Ruger LCP max. The problem. I had with it every time. I shot it. I got a lot of blowback straight in my eyes. Maybe it was just the one I had but i couldn't stand the thing.
Ruger LCP Max aren’t a bad pistol however the bodyguard is in a different league for sure
I have experience the same issue as well with the LCP Max. Might be because of how loose everything is on the LCP Max. Just picked up the BG 2.0 and took it to the range yesterday and it does not do this. This gun is a fine piece of machinery and it is living up to all the hype.
I would love to see a holster for this gun that allows you to tuck in your shirt 🙏
We have them
@@muddyrivertactical Oh damn, alright I'll order one thank you! Super stoked 😄
I have 3 Lcp max's a regular , an elite and a 75th anniversary they were $300 , $300 and $249 so msrp means nothing
Lcp max needs a manual safety
Just personal preference on those who want an external safety and those that don’t.
Thanks for watching!
I shoot my max low as well
Iwb doesn’t work for me. Pocket holster works best for me and the places I go.
To to a crazy amount of request, we are in works or designing a new pocket holster!
muddyrivertactical.com/product/pocket-holster/
Max is smaller and cheaper. Max wins.
Towards the end you called the Ruger the Bodyguard 😁🤣🍺✌️🇺🇸
Two many things in my mind at once 🤣
@@muddyrivertactical thats what keeps us on our toes ,good vid 👍
Appreciate you and your support!
The Max is not fun to shoot.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching!
380 has no firepower. Id carry nothing less than a 45 brother
Carry what you are confident in for sure. Thanks for watching
