I think Reed Road is Kyle speaking with an older version of himself, tracing the years of his youth up through his encounter with Lyme disease and thereafter.
The lyrics speak of letting go & remembering, "I couldn't watch so I burned my own life.... I came to take back your offer [perhaps arguing with himself about letting go of the past & living without regret/torment] to no longer be tortured." While many of his songs gleam from personal trials and introspection, Reed Road seems particularly grand in its scope of both Kyke's past and future. He names his siblings, talks about growing up in Salem, and speaks to the looming darkness that has shadowed him since youth. Truly chilling and beautiful. Also just an opinion :)

I can't wait until they tour again! I saw them at OutsideLands, which was amazing, but the sound could have been better. I would love to see them in a theater or ballroom like this. Three years on White Lighter still rocks my world. One of my best albums...probably ever.
