Michele, please can I ask what tape you recommend for masking like this on top of water colour paper - that won't pull the paper away with it? The vast array of so called 'masking tapes' is so confusing. Thank you.

This is just DIY tape, but you must stick it to your clothing and pick up lint first. For tape that doesn't leak or tear then scotch magic tape is my favourite but you won't get this torn edge effect. There's no foolproof tape, it all behaves differently depending on the paper type, humidity, how long it's left on. Do a test piece first :-)
