Holy moly, I don't envy you! That's when fun snow becomes work snow. My stepdad unexpectedly passed away recently, now I'm getting a crash course in learning how to run his tractor ( Branson) to keep my Mom plowed out. I usually use my 4 wheeler to plow so its been kinda fun using the tractor...and faster! There's also a grapple with it so my back is looking forward to using that at the sawmill. Here's hoping that snow doesn't melt to fast on ya, that's a whole nother set off problems. As always, take care Sandy✌❄
I'm sorry to hear about your stepdad Jill. Hope things go smoothly with the tractor. I'm sure with a bit of time in the seat you'll get it without problems.
@@sawingwithsandy Thanks Sandy. Only took me a day to get the hang of it. I did have a problem with the blade on the back yesterday not wanting to go down. Come to find out it needed hydraulic transmission fluid😳 Thank goodness for my Brother (who is a rancher) and his overall knowledge of equipment.
Sandy, I had the same setup last year with one really nice addition - a spinner know on my steering wheel - it really helps! This year I added a snow pusher with top back drag and it really saves the stone from being thrown around - I doubt I could have pushed any of that wet cement! Great video!
My 1st time here, glad to see you use a snow blower with a cab. Having a rear-mounted blower would drive me nuts though the neck gets locked up looking over the shoulder from arthritis.
My wife and I just took possession of her family's acreage in Maine. About 35 wooded acres for us to maintain. Currently I have an old Ford 2N, and intend to run that thing until it blows up. They are geared too fast for a snowblower, which is fine, because my neck hurts just watching you use this thing lol. I will be getting a back blade for snow plowing rather than waste money on another truck. You have convinced me that I can do my own milling, so I am very much looking forward to starting(this year with any luck). Your coworkers seem to be the best part of the job!
Great to hear about the acreage. You'll have a great chance to make it your own I'm sure and the sawing will be a bonus. Sounds like a great spot! You'll have to keep me updated on how things go
Been pushing snow like crazy with my Kioti. Glad to see it pushed it clear into Canada. LOL You have fantastic videos. Love to watch them. Your forestry winch is killer. I want one so bad but I just don't have enough projects with logs to justify it yet. I will just watch yours for now
😱 I'm so glad I live farther north lol that last blast only left about 8" here and no rain, but the trade off is the temp difference. Was -33 on the way to work this morning!
Good video and job. Sandy I feel for you. If you wait till it freezes snow blower is going to be damaged. When we got bad one I shoveled off all the roofs but one and it fell in. Good to see Koda . Take care, be safe and well.
Great video sandy!! You're right did a great job sure is a nice setup. We live in the Ozarks area near Branson Missouri got about 8 inches last week I have a 1626 Mahindra tractor with 6ft. Rear angle blade n loader it did great on that pretty cold though open station. But like you I got some much needed seat time lol. Thanks for sharing be safe have fun enjoy
Man thats a lot of snow! Easy to see it was definitely working the tractor pretty hard but it did get the job done and I know it's a lot of work but it's also a lot of fun thanks for sharing Sandy just be careful and enjoy
Howdy Sandy, I thought your last video was tops but I think you topped it with this video. I could sit and watch this for a while. I would have traded a foot of snow for what we got a couple nights ago. We had a hail storm that did some damage here. Gonna have to get a new roof for the camper 😢. Anyway, take care and I’ll see you on the next video. God bless
That is quite the storm!! I will be moving to Canada full time later this year. I guess I better order a snow blower for my tractor. Great video. Stay safe!
Hi Jack. Depending on what part of Canada you move to some parts don't get hardly any snow (Vancouver Island) and others get storm after storm (Newfoundland).
Hello Mr. Sandy, watching this and other snow blowing vids has convinced me, if I want a snow blower, I need a different tractor, one with a hydrostat, the gear drive and clutch would be more FUN than I want.
Yeah I could imagine you'd get a work out in snow like this with a clutch. I've got a standard car and when the traffic in the city gets to be too much my left foot just about falls off.
You've convinced me to continue to never consider a rear mount blower. That little Kioti did the job though. Any more snow or wetter you might have had a real challenge. Great video!!
Thanks for coming along for the tour! If you don't need to use the front of your loader much in the winter a front blower would be ideal. For me I need to front end for log work quite a bit
Good morning Sandy that was quite the snow fall the shoot on the blower was blowing full capacity right now if you don't clear your roads that you want open it will be hard after a warm up in temperature I leaved in province of Quebec in the mountains so we say our far share of snow when I was a lumber jack I had to take care of 3/4 of a mile road for the trucks to be able to get my wood so I had a little experience on maintaining a road and I was doing it with the blade in front of the skidder have a great day P.S I don't miss the snow being in Florida now lol
You'd see quite the weather In Quebec I bet! Lots of fun getting the snow cleared away as long as none of my equipment breaks. Then I'm not having as much fun haha. Great to have some nice weather I bet down south in Florida. I wouldn't mind taking some time out and getting down that way right about now haha
We've got a kubota l4060 cab tractor and we splurged for a front-mount pto snow blower. Probably one of the best implements we have. REALLY saves my neck!
I lived in Messina New York and Plattsburgh New York in the '50s and seen all the snow I ever want. You didn't go to town unless there was a motor greater with a blower on the front to open the road for you. That's after you hike to the main road from your home. Enjoy! Enjoy! Stay safe. Watch those trees. Don't hit you on the noggin
Hello again from Pennsylvania. Another fun filled video. That's the price you pay for having your own land. Some would say it was a lot of hard work. That, to me, would not seem like work. I would view it more as having fun in the snow. Especially when you have such a great tractor and snow blower to do "most" of the work for you. Can't wait to see how many big trees got pulled down by all the snow. That's the sad part in all of this. Heavy snow causes a lot of lost trees. But hopefully you will be able to use them for something after you mill them. It would be great to see you finally being able to ride your snowmobile after getting rid of all the deep snow. You should really make time for some "you" time, so you can at least have a little fun with all this snow. All work and no play. You know the rest. Well, thanks again for sharing. I was just wondering how many shear pins you had to replace while you were snow blowing the trail.
I'm with ya there. Although this is a lot of work, it's fun work for me as well. I really enjoy getting out onto the land and working it with various equipment. Keeps me active and hopefully in some sort of shape haha.
That’s hard snow to move, for sure. We had a little bit of that type of snow here in PEI yesterday. I cleaned it up with my 1980 ford garden tractor. And today, the snow is mostly all melted away. Only the third small snow event this year. Rule of thumb is 5 hp per foot of snowblower. So I’ve heard. Have a good day.
Nice old tractor you've got there. I like those models! I got lucky with not too many heavy snows like this so far this year. Id be having a massive fuel bill if that were the case haha
Sandy, I can sympathize with you. My snow was as wet, or wetter than yours. When it comes out of the chute like a Slushy, with no powder whatsoever.... It's warm today... only rain. Stop... Listen... what's that sound? Ahhhh, it's a Bombay Sapphire, extra dry/dirty martini, shaken for 40 seconds and served in a frozen glass with three olives calling to me!! Catch you on the next one!!
I am in Cape Breton, NS. We finally got snow a few days ago (about 8 inches) and it is already all gone. No frost in the ground...lots of rain and +12 today.
Great to hear you got some snow but the rain following it is too bad. I love that area of Canada. Been around that tour before and it's one not to be missed!
We had a 28" storm here 3 weeks ago, and it took us 2 full days to dig out the millyard. I can't even imagine digging out of 4ft. Be safe out there Sandy. -Andy
Boring here in Northern Indiana to. This summer I did a full tune up on the tractor and I got new boots so of course we don't get any real snow. Lol funny how that seems to work out. But if I wasn't prepared we would be berried.
Hey Sandy! A big thanks first of all for taking us along on the clean up! I knew there would be some good work for the DK coming after your last vid with the sled recovery! So thanks again for that! Loved all the great angles that you captured while you’re working, it really makes our viewing experience a pleasure! I’m glad that the DK was able to make its way through everything and back to the red pine forest! Do you recall what the shear pin count was at the end of it? Just wondering, nevertheless the DK and the blower definitely put in a good days work for sure. 💯👍. Really some heavy snow there, at times it seemed the blower was plowing an blowing at the same time! Im thinking your method of doing two small passes at a time is a good way to do it and more than likely easier on your equipment. Yes and chains are a must like you say, agreed! Looks like the slab wood pile got buried for sure now lol. Anyways Sandy, it was awesome to go along with you to the red pine forest and be able to see the DK in action as well seeing all the great scenery around as you went :). Take care an be well Sandy! Cheers! Andrew from NB :)
Those two passes did help. Sure made for a slow go though that's for sure. It took me quite some time to even get one pass in. I've still been out clearing off camera quite a bit. Crazy at is sounds I only broke two sheer pins in this storm. Lucky for me though I probably just cursed myself and will now break 10 next time out haha. Great to have ya along Andrew!
@@sawingwithsandy you did a great job, that’s for sure! An the extra time to have us along to for the ride is always much appreciated from me :). Two shear pins! That’s good to hear, as it looked like that clean up could have took more! Sending good vibes your way for the shear pins buddy! 😊 Cheers! Andrew from NB :)
Need a blower on my skidsteer, just have a bucket to clear my snow around the homestead and also use a big walk behind snow blower but when it's wet the blower justs makes snow sausages and takes forever to clear
My Yanmar is a smaller tractor, 24 hp. A 60 inch PTO driven snowblower on the back. In answer to the question on why a rear mounted snow blower I keep the bucket on the front and it breaks up snow the blower can't deal with. I do love the hard cab and cab heater! The one thing I wish for is a wiper blade on the back window. And, shear bolts, I keep wrenches and shear bolts in the cab! Last time it was the auger drive chain that gave up on me!
Great to have ya along! Nice area down in Georgia. I've been down that way a few times and always like stopping in. Last time I was down there I spent some time in Savannah
I could never have done that with my little Kubota BX25 and its 50-inch front-mounted snowblower. Last winter, I cleared the path leading to my neighbour's cabin, which had not been cleared all winter. I used my 3 ton excavator to accomplish this, it was fun to dip the bucket into that hard packed snow and lift those mounds of snow effortlessly. Not very fast, but very effective against compacted snow.
That would've been a great time! I wouldn't mind trying out a bulldozer in the future. No more waiting for my tractor to handle the heavy snow. Just forward she goes.
I love the snow. I live in the states, Iowa to be exact and we haven’t had more than a couple inches this year. I’d love a good foot or two of snow…..then I’ll be ready for spring. 😂. I’m jealous that’s for sure.
Well, like said last time, wowzer. I do like the snow blower. I have one that fit on my 4 wheeler 4' swath, it would have been no good at your place, but it works well for me so far. Your experience makes a person think, tho. 👍
When you have that much snow inside your shed and on the saw I’d recommend a leaf blower to clear ist out. Unfortunately only works with fresh powder. Soggy wet stuff will be a bit tricky.
Snow blowers are good for cleaning horse paddocks, too. Frozen horse apples fly good with a snow blower. I have absolutely zero complaints with my 2012 Kioti CK27, blew snow with it for 5 years, then started using just the bucket and back blade. I have the 60" front mount blower. I also have a V plow for it.
Hiya! Found you this morning. Loved your camera angles on the pto and auger. Southeast Wisconsin has NO snow on the ground. Makes for good travel but kind of boring. Lol
Morning Sandy. Thanks for the videos. Lake effect snow can be brutal, just ask Buffalo. Being in the GTA (Toronto area) we only occasionally get a big snow.
Hello Sandy. Do you think some orange poles set in the corners of some of the totes would help to be able to avoid the totes when you get this kind of snow and are wanting to get on the snowmobile? Have good days!
Love the channel. One suggestion, remind us to hit the like button sometime before the end of the clip. When done at the end there is no time to hit the like button. Just trying to help. Love the content and learned a lot.
The snow looked pretty heavy! I leave near Ottawa and although we received a lot a snow as well lately, it was only half what you've received. It's funny how snowfalls can greatly vary, even when we're pretty close!
I kept watching the news as well and wondering if everyone else was getting this big snow then realized that just a bit south or north quite a change. Hope all is well David. Thanks for watching
It's hard to tell on the video. I assume your running wide open throttle. That's a lot of snow to move but that 40hp tractor really seems to be struggling. That is a crap ton of snow brother. Cool video.
What you do with that amount of horsepower is simply impressive, makes me think about the days of Massey Fergusson half-track tractors that had about the same amount.
Thanks for that! It certainly surprised me being able to get through this much snow. The kioti seems to be a great workhorse all around. Those old MF are great machines as well!
I had a front snowblower on my Kubota compact tractor. That was the cat's ass. When I bought my new tractor I opted for a front plow instead. We just don't get the big snow, anymore, here in Southern Ontario and I got tired of cleaning up stones 30' into my yard in the spring. LOL. The front plow can move a couple feet deep, no problem.
Good video . I live about five hours north of you and do plowing . We don't really get the heavy wet snow like that . Sort of reminds me of instant mashed potatoes. Great job you did under less than ideal conditions .
Wow!!! Your area took a beating too! Took 13+ hours to dig out my road with a dirt bucket on my T190 when I got up there on the 2nd. That was after high winds and stupid cold temperatures (-30F) helped sublimation take about a third of the snow fall away! I am now trying desperately to figure cost effective freight to get a SkidPro blower from MN to AK so we don't get in the position where friends can't get down to our place to check on things when needed again! 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Sounds like quite the weather to get dug out from! I can imagine you get quite the storms up your way. Tough to get the freight price reasonable these days I can imagine
We got that south of you I'm MN. Wasn't that bad tho. I don't have a blower so I had to get my track loader out & PUSH, and man we pushed a lot of snow. Your snow was marginally warm enough so blowing was getting tough. Much warmer and it would have been a real chore with plug ups. The rain will take the snow level down but it's gonna get messy & difficult to deal with. Good luck getting cleaned out Sandy!
You're right about the snowblower, sure was starting to get unmanageable as it was getting too warm and beginning to stick to the blower. Nice machine by the sounds of it you've got for pushing snow.
sandy lucky you to have all that snow !!!!! hahaha over here in the thumb of michigan there isn't any snow. only time we get snow is when we have east wind.

Hahaha I know what ya mean! I won’t hold the snow against you. I got a good outing in my tractor which I needed
You're a more motivated man than I am! When we get that much snow I just stop sawmilling until spring and go ice fishing lol.
hahah some days I think I should do the same

@@sawingwithsandy Thanks Sandy. Only took me a day to get the hang of it. I did have a problem with the blade on the back yesterday not wanting to go down. Come to find out it needed hydraulic transmission fluid😳 Thank goodness for my Brother (who is a rancher) and his overall knowledge of equipment.
wow Sandy ...We sure could use some of that snow here in West Virginia. Great working tractor! Good luck at keeping ahead of that incoming weather!
Thanks Dirk! Glad you came along for the ride today
Dang Sandy - you and your tractor Got-Er-Done ✔. Great to see Koda again. !
Koda's almost like a hibernating bear these days with this big snow
Wow! It looks like a solid square column of snow coming out of Your blower!!!!
Sandy, I had the same setup last year with one really nice addition - a spinner know on my steering wheel - it really helps! This year I added a snow pusher with top back drag and it really saves the stone from being thrown around - I doubt I could have pushed any of that wet cement!
Great video!
I'm going to have to check out those steering spinners. Great idea! Snow pusher setup sounds great too!
You'll have to keep me updated on how things go
Cool video Sandy. I live in central Pennsylvania. We only get snow like that every 30 years or so. Last time was in 1991. So we are about due.
Yeah I"m sure when it does hit it's quite the event. Even here this snow fall was a good event for us. Lots of things still being cleaned up
Been pushing snow like crazy with my Kioti. Glad to see it pushed it clear into Canada. LOL You have fantastic videos. Love to watch them. Your forestry winch is killer. I want one so bad but I just don't have enough projects with logs to justify it yet. I will just watch yours for now
I appreciate you watching and thanks for the well wishes!
😱 I'm so glad I live farther north lol that last blast only left about 8" here and no rain, but the trade off is the temp difference. Was -33 on the way to work this morning!
Loving watching the struggle with the snow.
That is a huge amount to get,
Stay safe & warm👌👌
Good video and job. Sandy I feel for you. If you wait till it freezes snow blower is going to be damaged. When we got bad one I shoveled off all the roofs but one and it fell in. Good to see Koda . Take care, be safe and well.
Thanks for coming along for the ride John
Sammy keeps warm you are hard working men.do good jobs.faces looks red.is colder area now
Great video sandy!!
Great video Sandy! The joys of winter in Canada cheers my friend 👌🏻🔥🇨🇦
Joys of Winter! Thanks for coming along for the tour
The best tractor snow blower video ever.
Thanks David!
Man thats a lot of snow! Easy to see it was definitely working the tractor pretty hard but it did get the job done and I know it's a lot of work but it's also a lot of fun thanks for sharing Sandy just be careful and enjoy
Absolutely Jeff. Lots of work and fun. Great to be out on the land
God bless
Those hail storms sure are damaging I bet! Sorry to hear about the camper. Hope things get fixed up without too much trouble for ya
Great Tractor and Blower !!!!!!!!!
Looking Good
Great video and love your channel. Lot of hard work. Would have loved to have seen a trail ride of what you cleared on the snow machine.
@@sawingwithsandy I will 20 minutes outside of Collingwood in Walters Falls. They get lots of snow off Georgian Bay
That is a serious stream of snow coming out of the chute!
Your tractor handles that big snow blower quite well.
Great video. You might like the Stihl battery prune saw. Takes the small stuff easy. And it’s very portable. We have them here for our snow groomers
I may have to check them out. Thanks Mark
Enjoyed the video and all that snow.
Thanks Paul!
Sure sounds like some wicked weather!
Good snow thrower, slush snow goes through well.
Yeah I was fortunate things didn't get too jammed up luckily. Just a few times
Haha I’m still jealous up north here Carl
I thought your snow blower did a pretty good job all things considered. Enjoy the winter wonderland while it lasts. Take care. Be well.😊❤
Thanks I do too!
At least you've got the stump grinder for the 2 foot tall stumps. Good vid thanks.
Yeah with all this snow the stumps sure will be tall . Thanks for watching Joe
We had a 28" storm here 3 weeks ago, and it took us 2 full days to dig out the millyard. I can't even imagine digging out of 4ft. Be safe out there Sandy. -Andy
That rig is a beast.
🤘I wish we had that snow this year! Its a boring Maine winter with no snow.
Sure has been an up and down year all over it's seeming
Around 1:30....beautiful...thks for sharing. I'm from Georgia US....no snow yet.
It is incredible how deep that snow is !!!
Sure is the deepest I've seen before
I love the snow. I live in the states, Iowa to be exact and we haven’t had more than a couple inches this year. I’d love a good foot or two of snow…..then I’ll be ready for spring. 😂. I’m jealous that’s for sure.
What a really nice video. I really enjoyed seeing all the snow.
Great to hear that!
Well, like said last time, wowzer. I do like the snow blower. I have one that fit on my 4 wheeler 4' swath, it would have been no good at your place, but it works well for me so far. Your experience makes a person think, tho. 👍
Hey Del! Yeah those 4 wheeler blowers are great setups. Sure would be handy even here sometimes
Nice seeing this in a tractor's worst case snow snow event. Thanks. Wet snow just compounds it all too. - N Idaho -
Hey Steve. Sure was a fun time to see all the snow. Clearing it away took an effort though
@@sawingwithsandy good clean fun.
Hi Sandy, new subscriber, love that much snow! In the early season. Its +5 here in Eastern Ontario. South of Ottawa. Cheers.
Hi Ross! Great to have ya on the channel!
Hey Clive! Yeah Buffalo sure knows about snow haha.
Hello Sandy. Do you think some orange poles set in the corners of some of the totes would help to be able to avoid the totes when you get this kind of snow and are wanting to get on the snowmobile? Have good days!
Wow! Definitely a good storm. We haven't received any measurable snow this season. The Kioti did a great job!
Love the channel. One suggestion, remind us to hit the like button sometime before the end of the clip. When done at the end there is no time to hit the like button. Just trying to help. Love the content and learned a lot.
Be Blessed Sandy!
Thank you Joseph!
Cool video.
Great Video, Kioti is a beast.
you are fortunate that your paths are established and you have a tractor with a snow blower.
I am fortunate that way. Without those well established paths it sure would be anyones guess how I"d get back to my sawmill
Yes sir you had some storm, that's some set up you have there for clearing snow. everything stayed good at the mill. take care
All ended up working out well. Thanks Wallace!
Keep snowblower that will be a great snowmobiling trial 👌
Thanks! Keeping it clear all winter
Sandy if you spray the inside of the snow blower and Shute with spray wax ( like turtle wax ) it helps keep the snow from packing on the snow blower
Great tip! Thanks for that
Good video . I live about five hours north of you and do plowing . We don't really get the heavy wet snow like that . Sort of reminds me of instant mashed potatoes. Great job you did under less than ideal conditions .
Sure was some heavy stuff to navigate
DAMN Way to go , Sandy!!!
