  • What's age got to do with it?
In this collaboration, I'm chatting with "mom coach' Leselle Theus, age 47 with a 4-year-old son, conceived on her honeymoon. She had a few words to share when her friend suggested her that dreaming of a second child at her age was selfish.
    Read her blog post: fullbelly.life...
Leselle and I have a lot of opinions in common about how we view age through a different lens than the nay sayers and the dooms-dayers.
Come hang out with us as we chat about what it's like to look through a positivity lens as you become older and wiser each year.
Fertility from the Soul programs are created by Natalie Masson, Ph.D. - I'm a mom of 2, conceived naturally at 42 and 45....taking my tools as a psychologist to help other women on their fertility journey and beyond.

It’s absurd that men have children in their 60s, 70s and even 80s but no one ever says anything! But here we go, a 47 year old woman was scrutinized for her decision to have another baby.

I’m 41 trying to conceive my first child. I find that there is a stigma in the medical community for women of a certain age trying to get pregnant. Every OBGYN/NP I’ve talked to starts every phrase with, “Because you’re over 40…” or “ Because of your age…” One NP even said to me that I was perimenopausal because I had 1 or 2 irregular periods then said, “there’s always adoption” after asking if I still wanted to have children. I shouldn’t be punished for waiting to have a family. Thank you for all the positivity and having this conversation 🙏

This was awesome. This mega dose of positivity was exactly what I needed. I'm 42 going thru my fertility journey, and it's easy to get overwhelmed and taken down a negative road. But this session reminded me that I'm capable. My body can do this. I surrender, and what's for me is for me. Thank you both. Do more of this...

Actuaries have moved the life expectancy for life insurance from 100 to 120. People are living longer and healthier. Health is holistic - mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially. We create our reality. The Yoruba culture believe adulthood starts at 40!

This is weird to me because being from the city, the overwhelming majority of women I know had babies in late 30's or 40's. It was the opposite where I'm from, that if a woman had a baby young it was "weird."

I needed this in my life and it just showed up on my TH-cam recommendations today. Last week I had come to terms that I would stop trying for baby #2 at the end of the year, which is when I would turn 40. I would find acceptance that I was only meant to have 1 child, although I feel it in my heart that there's a baby boy waiting to call me momma. I've had my life on hold the last two years since my daughter was born, focusing intently on baby #2. Last week I decided I needed to live and started making plans for my life and career that will take me away from the house (I've been working from home for 2 years) for a couple days, at most a month, but will bring me so much joy and fulfillment. This video opened my heart to accept that there might be a bigger age gap between my 2 kids, and that's ok. I have to stay true to my heart and to that baby boy who is waiting for me. 💙

Women have been having babies in their 40s since the dawn of humanity. It's nothing new. And longevity has nothing to do with when you have children. Most of my friends were born to younger parents and I would say at least half of them had lost 1 parent before they turned 40, in other words, having your kids young doesn't guarantee a long life.

How many children you want is very personal. I had my little son at my 43 years old and he is 7 years old now. He loves to have a sibling since he was a baby that hurts me. my husband and I love kids. When My son was 3 , he played with a 2 years old who has a 3 months old baby sister, my son constantly sit by the infant after played a while with the 2 years old. That really hurt me as I didn’t give him a sibling. We discussed and decided to trying again, but it was too late due to my age. I couldn’t get pregnant. Nothing I could do about it except trying and nothing I couldn’t do to change my life path and settle down with my husband so late at my 40 years old. Good thing is my husband is 5 years old younger than me!
