This game easily has Rareware’s best boss fights, and easily Grant Kirkhopes best soundtrack, ever song in this soundtrack is either really catchy, climactic beauty, or the most calming damn music you’ve ever heard (Banana Fairy Isle, DK Isle theme, Mermaid house, Crystal Caves)
Donkey uses his strong head, Diddy uses his maneuverability and guns, Lankey uses his reach and instrument playing, Tiny uses her ability to get into tiny spaces, Chunky just gets on K Rool's level and shows him these hands.
Diddy was probably the toughest one for me, the flying, the shooting and depth precision were real painful, but it was one of my first times ever trying the final boss.

I remember when I was around 8 or 9 I had deleted my mothers save file on accident a few years before and I vowed to her I'd do everything and collect everything so she could see the secret ending she could never beat the boss fight and I ended up finally doing it after what seemed like forever when since I was 8 or 9 and garbage at games but I did it and that was a core memory for me one of the happiest moments in my life

This game is probably my ALL time favorite video games. I was a very young kid when u played it, but as a kid I could never get past part before the boxing match. I've never beat the game. One day I'll somehow play it again.

I had this game at 7 years old in 99 took me so many years to try to collect the last banana to finish this game I stopped maybe at 11 years old playing it well in high-school my senior year 2012 I saw on here on TH-cam how to pass it I was mad like until this day never passed it sold my 64 and tons of classic games I regret it so much but I loved my childhood with my N64
Collecting the nintendo coin was straight up hell.. The austronaut mini game was at least a little fun but this old barrel jumping game?? And stage after stage to infinity?? Total pain in the ass

Yeah, overall. Some elements have aged more gracefully than others, like the switching Kong thing, but as a whole it's more polished and feature complete.
This is my favorite final boss in any game. It’s so funny and makes me feel like I’m in a Looney Tunes cartoon outwitting and humiliating the big brute of a villain. The fact you fight him as all five heroes makes it feel epic, and the finish is so goofy I smile every time. Literally booted out 😂
The presentation is probably the best part about it, it really is a spectacle fight and can be a bit challenging at times. Probably the hardest part, for me, is getting into Diddy's Jet Barrel because of the precision involved and that damn glove.
This is just comedy gold, while being incredibly intimidating at the same time! Strange how most folks here say two years, because that's how long it took me, but way, way back in that game's heyday. I remember getting it at Wal-Mart in 2000, and finally beating the game in 2002 the first time with a Gameshark, and then the following year without the help of any cheat device. Good old days. I was around 11 when I said "screw it", and got a Gameshark, and then it was an even better feeling when I got to be able to beat it on my own!
Sorry to hear that. If it helps, he keeps shifting through the same 2 cycles over and over, so it's pretty easy to memorize and the fourth toe never attacks last in a pattern.

Can someone please explain to me what's with “saved by the bell”? I haven't seen a lot of boxing matches but isn't the bell supposed to be when the KO'd fighter is out of time to get back up?
The idea is that the bell also signals the beginning and ending of the round. The Kremlings are obviously cheating by ending the round to prevent the referee from reaching 10.
It's when someone is still standing up and taking a pounding. The bell rings and the fighters returned to the corner. Mostly. But the Kremlins are so stupid they don't know what it means. But are evil enough to cheat with it.
You know king k rool is probably stronger than dk just realized that he needs help to beat king k rool and how giant k rool is compared it smash bros and the dk cartoon makes them look like rivals but king k rool isn't a weakling he such a threat to the donkey kong island
If anything, you could argue the Kongs are straight up cheating throughout this fight. Donkey gets his barrels, Diddy has his jets, Lanky straight up is using banana peels and a musical instrument, Tiny gets her barrel, Chunky gets pads and a barrel. Meanwhile, K.Rool just seems to be using natural abilities.

typically yes, although for the sake of the boss fight he was scaled to be bigger. think about how in some mario games bowser's size changes from him being simply twice the size as mario to sometimes being 10 times bigger when it's a boss fight. it's the same thing here.
They may save him by having the most rigged judges in boxing history, but what they can't stop is him getting worn down with each fight. By the time Chunky smacks him down a few times, he's already been thoroughly battered by the other Kongs and he can't even fight anymore.
I love King K Rool in this game. He manages to be both threatening and hilarious at the same time

It definitely has one of the best presentations, with how the opening hypes it up.
It's awesome no doubt,but some of the Conker's bosses where awesome too, like the classic big mighty poo.

This game is a technical marvel with very few other N64 games being more technological impressive. Doesn't mean that completing it is any fun.
Fully completing it is a drag but its fun

K.Rool in this game is "slightly" big, to the point that the powerup to make Chunky a giant puts him on equal footing.
