- The Kathmandu Valley is full of treasures, villages, legends. One of them tells that once the valley was a lake and that a god emptied the water with a saber stroke in order to offer the valley to people.
Through this series "Valley View" I decided to go in search of the treasures of the Kathmandu Valley, villages sometimes forgotten on the tourist map.
For this first episode I went to PANAUTI, 30km from Kathmandu. An ancient village where the Newar culture is predominant. Temples dating from the 13th century, enchanting alleys, a peaceful atmosphere between culture and nature.

C'est une véritable torture ces vidéos que tu proposes... c'est si beau et si bien filmé que ça donne envie de retourner là-bas. Incroyable de trouver des coins si sympas juste à côté de Katmandu. Par ailleurs, j'avais réellement adoré Bhaktapur et ses temples magnifiques. Les toits ou niveaux des temples ont-ils une signification quelconque?? PS: Ne boit pas trop d'alcool. 😂😂😂

I think the whole country was once under the ocean because you can find ammonite fossils in Nepal which are now extinct sea creatures but people in Nepal has religious beliefs about it. Great series 👍 and happy upcoming tihar🪔🎇🎆

Going up from Panauti to Manedhovan, there you will get to see nature and clean environment and you will also get to see Lilavati river.Manedovan also has hotel guesthouses and trout fishing.

Is dashani held at the same time each year? Thanks for showing me this village, I an heading to Nepal in September and October in 2023 for a little over a month
Around the same time. It depends on Hindu calendar (panchanga calendar). Next year's Dashain is from 15.10 till 28.10. Main celebration is on 24.10.
