After king prithvi Narayan Shah conquered Kathmandu he was afraid we will fight back coz he conquered it wrong way.so he asked his advisor what he should do the answer was simple don't poke them. Just let them do what they are doing. Adopt Thier culture & tradition. If you do that they will accept you as a king after that king started to taking part in our festival & jatras.
