    This is great. I once made conductive ink using graphite powder using the same binder, but it was disappointing. The best i could get was around 30 ohms per square CM. Some people on youtube could make ones that are 5 - 10 ohms per CM, but i could never figure out why theirs was better than mine.

      I found to get decently conductive graphite paint or powder you want to use as little binder as possible while still having good strength and spreadability. However this will result in a weaker paint if you use too little binder.
      You will want to wait for it to dry VERY THOROUGHLY. I mean it. Seriously. Wait for it to dry at a bare minimum a full 24 hours even if you think its dry its probably not yet. You need to be very patient waiting for it to dry. If its not dry yet it can cause inaccurate resistance readings
      I got down to 0.5 to 2 ohms when coated onto a nickel strip with pure graphite powder. it is the cheaper kind too and not the better graphites.

      Depends on the thickness. Ohm/sq is meaningless without a thickness ie ohm/sq/mil.

    the high resistance in the small distance one might be due to high surface resistance.
    with such materials surface conductivity and volume conductivity are measured seperate.
    surface conductivity is often very high, volume a lot lower.
    as for the mixing it would have been great if you also showed some tests with it when only slightly mixed and when for example mixed 15 minutes or such to show just what kind of effect it has, since in some cases for some people it might not be needed to be mixed as much.
    as for the heating in short cirquit, if you have a ir temperature measuring device it would be interesting to see at what temps it started breaking. even though it partly seemed to be due to the plastic melting, but if it can handle high enough temps safely it might be usable for making heated beds or such for 3d printers or keeping chemical reactions warm or such.

    Could you use acetone instead of water? Recipes with copper conductive paint or graphite for electroforming use acetone. Presumably this evaporate way more quickly than water and allows for a less viscous liquid to spray with an airbrush.

    Two things:
    - the CD case cover you are using to paint over is a different one than the other one where you are measuring the resistance. Why ?
    - when someone asks you why their Fe2O3 powder is not conductive you say that the good one is Fe3O4, but when someone asks you why their Fe3O4 isn't working you say that the correct powder would be Fe2O3 ... So which one ?

    Sir, I've ordered a couple 2.7 volt capacitors (100 farad and 3000 farad) to study capacitors while I learn to make them. I learned small voltage supercaps store the most energy. My question is, is there a best practice for fast charging of a single cap. It draws amps and I'm hand limiting the current but I read that they can be charged very quickly. How can I know it's maximum safe charging current? Your capacitors, too. How fast can we charge these electrolytic supercaps?

    • @joyofelectronics9782

      Supercapacitors can be charged with the current up to 100 amps. Anyway it’s difficult to find that much strong charger so you don’t have to worry about the current but voltage while charging the Supercapacitor

About 4 Amps current. It's the size of my thumb but smaller... apparently, these aren't really available to the public.

    • @joyofelectronics9782

      No it means that it’s durable against heat. If you talk about the second part of the paint, when l heated it the paint broke so disconnected (you can understand from the internal sparks) that’s the reason.
