1927 2-Cylinder Cummins model F serial 8149

The title say it all. Clessie Cummins built this engine for Henry B Joy’s yacht. It has aluminum parts to lighten the load. Somehow the engine wound up on “Standard Oil” towboat on the Ohio River. Bob Drake worked for Ingram Towing out of Paducah KY. Bob Drake was commissioned to remove this engine from the boat. Bob told the new Perkins A/C generator owner….”If you ever want to sell it, call me.”
Bob was not expecting a call from the owner of that boat, but when the call came in to come and claim the engine Bob went running.
Bob, Gene and I were happy to receive this engine. Our first Desiel!
