Why don't we build more factories in the UK to make drones by the tens of thousands, and artlllery shells by the million, and more anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles? These seem to be the weapons that are making the difference.
China are happy to sell drones to everyone (so far). They will decide to keep them all for themselves eventually though and the the UK has no industrial capability to make flight controllers or even brushless motors on mass. Basically the only country on Earth that can produce drones cheaply and in the tens of millions is China. It's a huge overwhelming advantage they will have in any future conflict.
Britain does not have a manufacturing base! Very little of anything is produced these days! So don’t make silly statements about producing drone weapons!.
@@DerekLangdon-w9e The UK is still the 7th biggest arms exporter, and BAE is one of the biggest manufacturers. The industrial base isn’t what it used to be but it’s still fairly significant, especially in terms of high tech equipment.

In testing done by the US themselves they found they had very limited effectiveness at destroying tanks and being that close on a modern battlefield like this they'd be extremely vulnerable to manpads and the like.

That is 100% a challenger2, if you zoom in to the muzzle its rifled, the MRS shroud, the Thermal sleeves and fume extractor are a give away also. I believe you can see the TI just above its frontal armour which only relates to chally.

That is not a Challenger barrel, or indeed any MBT barrel. That is a barrel shroud (thermal sleeve), quite a flimsy cover that can be attached around a barrel. The comparison shot The Sun provides at around the 4 min mark does a good job at showing on the right image what the shroud and the brackets look like when affixed to a Challenger's main gun. The image on the left shows part of a shroud, missing most of the brackets. You could walk up to that shroud and lift it and have a good look. Nobody is going to lift a main battle tank gun with their bare hands. Indeed, its massive weight would have it depressed into the dirt around it, not lying suspended on foliage.

A10s are NOT about to be retired. In fact an ambitious re-winging and avionics upgrade is in progress which will extend it's life many years. VERY poor inaccurate reporting!
A10's need to be retired. They are soooo long in the tooth now. If they were sent to Ukraine they would drop out of the sky like flies without air support and Ukraine doesn't have many ASF's.

Ukraine has SU-25's. They filled a similar role in Soviet service as the A-10 did in US service. They'd be better off with more of them than A-10's. It is too late to start training pilots and crews to fly them and they already have maintenance and sustainment capabilities for them.
Whe armies can’t employ proper combat arm tactics, you get the present Russo-Ukrainian war. From the time of the Roman legions to the Spanish Tercios. From the German war machine of WW2 to the US ground forces in Iraq. All have successfully employed combined arms tactics when prosecuting a campaign. Something neither the Ukrainians nor the Russians have been able to do. That’s why so many active and retired NATO commanders have described the current conflict as a war very like WW1.

Oryx is run by people with connections to the British secret service. Others have geo-located it in Russia. Challenger tanks were seldom used in Ukraine after failing. They are not suited for modern warfare, they can only operate on metalled roads where there are no bridges. they will work in Britain and Western Europe but in Eastern Europe and elsewhere they are useless s Bridges cannot support their weight and the roads are not suitable, THat is why Ukraine never used them at the front one. They were too vulnerable, Which makes one wonder what lunatic actually
ordered Challenger 3 which is even heavier. Challenger tanks are not alone, Abrams tanks suffer from the same problems, as do Leopard tanks, which have similar problems are at least better. The only benefit is that if attacked and incapacitated by one drone the tank crew usually survives. However, the disabled tank is then attacked by multiple drones or a missile.

The British press needs to stop thinking that the Challenger is good, it's not.
