I had a savage axis 243. I tried to make this 10 round conversion. Got NO co-operation from Savage. I traded it in for a Mossberg Predator in 243. I stacked two 5 round box magazine's, bonded them with JB Weld, stretched the spring about 1 inch and ended up with 12 rounds. Mossberg customer was very helpful with hints and suggestions. Feeds flawlessly.

Where? So far the only place i have found 10round mags is from a company in Florida that only makes them for the factory stocks.100.00 bucks a piece.....ouch!!!

My Axis I is in 6.5Creedmoor and if i decide to get a boyds chassis they ask if the Axis is a long or short?Yet idk and when i ask Savage, them selves they wont or cant say either?so how do you tell if its a short or long action "Axis I"?

You just have to trim out the ramp on the stock that interfaces with the catch on the magazine.

The guy specifically says, in this video, to cut the tab off of the magazine and cut the ramp in the receiver that the old magazine catches on...

If you look up on google what the difference is between a short action and long action, you'll find that a 6.5 creedmoor is a short action round...
Boyd's lists what caliber the long and short actions cover when you choose the individual option. Like for example my 30-06 axis XP is a long action
