That's what I've been saying for a while, now. A TF x MASK crossover would be perfect. I'd love it if they could also retain their gimmicks, but that might be too much of an engineering nightmare. I'd also hope that, unlike for this series, they gave the toys to actual Transformers developers, instead of giving them to the G.I.JOE people and said "That's great! Now make it transform." As a consequence, the vehicles look *_amazing_* but the robot modes suffer for it. They're not _horrible,_ by any stretch, they just feel like sort've an afterthought.
On the one hand I get folks not liking these. Clearly not made by the same team as most Transformers stuff. But also it very much is serving the purpose of looking as close to the original GI Joe toy as possible and those things are pretty hollow in places to allow then to be big enough to put figures in. I kind of think of these as more of a playset than a standard Transformer. I'd definitely be up for some MASK themed ones. Especially Raven.
I'm not into Joes, but i do love the way they look and appreciate a well-done collaboration between franchises! I would DEFINITELY get these for nostalgia'svl sake! I mean, who didn't play with Joes and Transformers as a kid back in the day, imagining both sets of villains taking up with both sets of heroes! I know I did!
This set has just come to my attention. Looks great, but I particularly like they've gone with the proper vintage/retro GI Joes figures as opposed to doing a modern reimagining. Nice! Good review too!
Complaints about the hollow aside, which I totally understand, but this looks just so so lovely. Might have to actually track this down, this was one of my fav vehicles as a kid so great combo with a retro Zartan figure to boot.
Beware of an assembly error on the leg with the connecting panel. The red tab may not be properly inserted into the blue slot making proper conversion impossible.
I think the main thing that puts me off on these collaboratives is the cost. that Megatron/H.I.S.S. Tank was a fine figure, even considering the hollowness, but the $100 price tag was egregious for everything included. the Soundwave is equally pricey, but arguments can be made for more value in the box with the addition of the Masterpiece Ravage. I dunno, if I can hunt it at a discount I'd likely go in on it, but at full asking price it's a bit steep. Regardless of that, another great review, always good to see you out in the TH-cams with new transformers Sixo! ^_^
Thanks Tim! And I can’t argue on the cost as they are on the pricey side for sure. This one definitely feels a bit more bang for your buck imo, but a lot of the Collab stuff is a bit dear, I agree.
I would 100% buy a Broadside that triple-changed into both a Skystriker and the U.S.S. Flagg. HasLab perhaps, Hasbro...? Solid review as always, thanks! 😎👍
The wheels a on there in the exact same way as the vintage toy, so nothing wrong with that. Vintage G.I.Joe isn’t getting cheaper. These collaborative toys with Transformers are like getting a newly molded vehicle, plus a Transformer and an action figure or two to go with the vehicle.
I have this guy and the HISS Tank Megatron, though I haven't bought the Bumblebee yet. I _am_ looking forward to the Optimus Prime, though. I do think it's weird how Megatron is the only figure that has actual feet so far.
@@SixoTF Hopefully their Optimus will take after Megs and have feet, instead of Soundwave and Bee and have seats. I mean, can you just imagine how uncomfortable those must be to sit on?
Not my cup of tea personally, but to each there own. I would actually love it and megatron if they didn't look like Cobra bolted a bunch of pieces on them, would love to have there G1 modes transform into the Cobra vehicles, even if the colors weren't spot on, I know it's asking alot though and also, soundwave is my fav lol.
The Megatron and Bumblebee didn't wow me at all, but THIS look way too good to pass up! EDIT: I just saw the price. Nevermind, it's easy to pass up. lol.
Controversial take: this is the only sound wave I keep on display. Why? Because he's so beefy and badass looking yet still legitimately looks like Soundwave. Also he turns into something remarkably cool instead of just a dumb looking box
It is. Just like the old Alternators line This is a line that just happens to be where alt mode takes the priority. I'm of the mind that alt mode should always be the priority but that's just me
I wish these had been made by the transformers team and allowed to be original characters. Forcing them to be recognizable evergreen designs compromises the toys.
An Optimus Prime MASK Rhino mashup would really ring my 80's bell nicely :)

I would *love* that
@@Inspprods Maybe a little too niche, but that would be impressive :)

100% all of this. Including the MASK bit.
It's less of a Transformers toy that turns into a GI Joe vehicle, and more of a GI Joe vehicle that has a robot mode.
It’s a fantastic Leader Class Soundwave.
Something I never thought we needed but here we are

love all of the Gi joe Transformer collabs , they have a retro toy vibe from the 80's . hope we get more !
Nice!
Great figure, honest review :)
Thanks!
aw yeah we need Cold Slither
🤘
Love the vehicle mode it looks exactly like the thunder machine I remember. Also I’d that Emiraate Xaaron in your pfp? Cool 🤘
It is yeah!
@@SixoTF cool, big Geoff Senior and TFUK fan 👍
I get people not liking the connection between transformers and gi joe but they been linked together since the old marvel comic of transformers
True
And the Sunbow cartoons
Loving the consistent uploads Sixo!
Thanks! Going for it!
I agree with your hint hint... I would love some Visionaries ;)
Ha, right

Defo!
Dammt, I think you sold me. I need a MP Howlback to go with my Pre-TF Microchange collection anyway...
Good set.
Beware of an assembly error on the leg with the connecting panel. The red tab may not be properly inserted into the blue slot making proper conversion impossible.
Great toy!
One toy line I wish they could collab with is Masters of the Universe. They had fun, unique vehicles that would make great Transformers.
Great idea, lots of potential.

I feel my main takeaway from this is "One appreciates these toys at certain specific sizes, big or small".
Well, big toys are cool but small toys are cool too!

Ha thanks! I'm sure they're right on that one lol
I shall be getting this for the thunder machine mode for my GI JOE collection for sure ! Once price comes down a bit 😄
Fingers crossed!
All this time and I thought Zartan’s hood was hair
What a treat
⚡️
He can hold the cannon. In his right hand
The thing I hate about this series is they only work with the vintage O-ring style figures.

I mean I love the dumb box version too lol but this is cool, no doubt!
Best one of the bunch so far, though it's not exactly a high bar to clear IMO.
I've enjoyed 'em!
To me it feels like it's a Joe toy first, with a transformer half-hazzardly shoehorned in.
Fair enough

They are robots in Disguise and not cars in Disguise after all
I wish these had been made by the transformers team and allowed to be original characters. Forcing them to be recognizable evergreen designs compromises the toys.
That’s an interesting point! I can understand why they’re not in terms of mass appeal but I do see that POV too
What toys shouldn't be fun, played with, or enjoyed by children 😮
So true
I think it's a prod or baton? 3:08
Sure - it’s not meant to be any of these things so whatever you want really! 😆
@@SixoTF I mean, thrashing someone with a car antenna would be a very Dreadnok thing to do. Soundwave is just trying to fit in.
The Thunder Machine is great, but the figures that come with it are so cheap. the quality is almost Funskool levels.
Sorry to hear you weren’t impressed!
Can't hold the gun? Did you even try? Because mine holds the gun in his hand just fine!
I didn't say it can't hold the gun. I said it can't hold the shoulder cannon, which it can't.
I do wish Ravage turned into a Joe related accessory... feels like an easy missed opportunity.
Not sure that would be in the budget lol
Well they give you a leash to put on ravage and ravage is in scale with the Joe's so in a way it is a Joe accessory
howlback is a lady actually
Is that right? Did not know!
