marconroy1, these DH riders spend countless hours of cross training on XC bikes, Road bikes, Local trails not to mention the gym!! They are athletes in much the same way as XC riders. Pro downhillers could easily ride up a mountain. While your catching your breath they'd be leaving a cloud of dust behind for you to choke on as you push your bike back down because it's too steep for you to ride. If the boy band you refer to is Metallica or Nirvana then yeah your right, they do, DH rocks :)
It takes a real cyclist to cycle up a mountain.. these guys belong in a boy band... ok ok it take a certain amout of skill and guts to go downhill at speed.. but all they do is sit and steer... anyone can go up a mountain in a cable car..
