This guy is the reason I began watching basketball and learned how to play it. D-Wade's an all-time great. Dude was a monster in his prime. He's easily the 3rd best shooting guard ever behind Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.

Wade's still always gonna be my #1 favourite, was pretty much the reason I continued to started to watch basketball after I saw him go huge against Kentucky when he was at Marquette. "Injury prone" ? he only had problems with his knees after 14 seasons+... The refs are the only reason why D. Wade wasn't higher vaulted in the league... The refs have no idea what constitutes a real foul... The call the game based on the leagues wishes -- IE: to be more fast paced / Less free throws to slow down the game / having star players NOT foul out / to determine at each and every play who the league deems made the crowd want to come back or not... This is the reason why when Michael Jordan was playing -- the two cities with the most money got the most calls for their teams -- IE: Chicago and Lakers... The league got $16 Billion for playing up M. Jordan during his time-- no other player during his time was anywhere near his skillset, so he got every call for him to not get injured (You blatantly heard the refs say that anyone that touched him was getting a foul called on them) D Wade -- In contrast -- grew up in a league where the refs were told to push the game towards less free throws / less emphasis on defensive plays / and more on scoring ... The two Eras are completely different-- but if you placed D Wade in Jordan's Era-- he would've done even more than Jordan-- because D Wade KNOWS how to land to protect himself after launch... He's also the best SG at blocks of the Centers of the league-- A testament to his WILL to win... RINGS BE DAMNED-- (Getting gifted rings in a time when the refs are on your side-- don't mean SQUAT to me...) Every single Center would LOVE to be on D Wade's team vs Jordan-- because D Wade wasn't selfish... He made the correct play almost all of the time... Even LeBron wanted to be on Wade's team... And even though LeBron is outright un-matchable in almost every category ever since the game has been going on-- LeBron had to LEARN how to be that game -finisher / Go-To guy... D Wade ironed that out in Marquette...

he had meniscus surgery in 2002 and is on the record saying he regretted it because it meant knee issues including bone bruises, tendinitis, and knee soreness were very frequent. do you know in addition to the 2002 surgery, wade had further treatment on his knees in 2007, 2012 and 2013?
this is a quote from wade on an ESPN article in 2013:
"When Westbrook had his injury, they kind of saved his meniscus," Wade said. "Mine was taken out, and that opens you up to having certain knee injuries and problems, so that's what I've had to deal with."
wade was great but can u imagine wade how good wade would have been if he stayed healthy all season, like the likes of lebron?. we'd definitely seen prime wade 08-09 alot more imho.

Edit: the dunk on Portland.... very underrated dunk. I was at that game, and was sitting behind the basket so had a straight ahead view. He actually brought the ball back, and held on to it longer so that he could "glide" enough to catch the defense on the descent and avoid the block. It was unreal.

I think the dunk on Varejao is the most iconic Flash dunk ever but for me that dunk against OKC is his best. The spin move and then to be able to re-balance himself, extend his body and finish through contact over 2-3 guys is just ridiculous.

Westbrook. Wade was is easily the greater player but Russell is a freak athlete. I truly believe Westbrook would be either an all pro cornerback or Receiver in the NFL. Westbrook is clearly faster, quicker and stronger than Wade.
Wade was more control and got 100% of his athleticism and freakish wingspan. Westbrook is more explosive and jumps higher but has far less body control. Wade could slither around and within seconds have a mega explosive dunk. On the other hand Westbrook only knows go go go with force.
