hello doctor, thanks for this amazing video! currently working in UK, I want to work in Australia via CAP pathway. I am looking for getting into psychiatry training there as far as I know I need to get general registration so i need to work at least 1 year in Au. theoretically, can I start training in the 2nd year? Is general registration a requirement for applying for training, or will it be required from me when I actually start training?, so I don't have to wait for 2 years to get into. Thanks in advance!
To start psychiatry training in Australia through the Competent Authority Pathway (CAP), you need general registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), typically requiring at least one year of supervised clinical work in Australia (e.g., through CAP). Once registered, you can apply for psychiatry training with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP). If successful, you can begin training as early as your second year in Australia, assuming all prerequisites are met at the time of application.
Hey Dr Rizwan please can you make video on types of visa specifically about doctors who have recently graduated from Pakistan. Thankyou for such informative and guidance
Hello Dr , Thank you for all your videos, it consist of a tremendous amount of information all of doctors get benefit from them . I Had one question pls , Does doing elective Australia play role in getting a job offer after passing amc clinical ? I mean if i done my elective in my country and pass all the exams and get some life support courses and doing internship in my country besides doing some researches , what is the probability of getting a job offer ? And how much time do i need to wait ?

Hi sir , Any update about amc exam centre in Pakistan .. Cant find previous notification regarding this on official amc website .. Kindly do share some information in this regard ..
Getting a job in Australia as an IMG after passing the AMC exams depends on location and specialization. After passing the AMC exams, you will need 47 weeks of supervised practice to gain general registration. Rural placements often come with incentives, making them attractive for IMGs aiming for permanent residency or career development. Your chances of success are dependent on your CV, documents and interview practice for which we have an end-to-end service that helps you professionally till you land your very first job in Australia: www.emergencyfocus.net/event-details/get-full-career-guidance-ongoing-until-your-first-job
