Gary wells came and jumped at our little Co. Fair in Kenosha Wi. I can’t remember how many cars but the ramps were covered in dew. Made it look easy. Great guy. This was around 1975
I raced motorcycles there in the mid 70’s on the 1/2 mile oval. They quit motorcycle events in favor of automobile events only. I had no idea anything happened there as late as 2014. Thank you for the video!
Personally, I find it tragically sad that at 57 years of age, Gary Wells was still jumping his motorcycle before sparse, late-night crowds for whom he was now just a sideshow rather than the main attraction. You'd hope by that stage of your life, you'd be at peace with your legacy, whatever that may be.
i remember when i was a kid Gary Wells beat 4 or 5 other motorcycle Daredevils in a car jumping contest. In was in the late 70s on the CBS Sports Spectacular. It's cool he's still doing jumps!
GARY wells is the greatest EVER, what a SHOWMAN.YOU HAVE TO SEE HIM LIVE!!!!!!!!!! I REMEMBER HIM FROM CEASERS PALACE 38 YEARS AGO, OMG. LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY,IN FACT I WAS ABOUT 80 FEET AWAY FROM WHERE HE LANDED,CRASHED.
Too bad crappy image I couldn’t tell if he still has that stupid over the top tuxedo on. He should go back to Caesars and this time hit the landing ramp now that would be a good show.
I like the throwback feel by using 1972 video technology. It was like I was there in person, after too much alcohol. Could ALMOST see the jump!

Caesar's Palace, lesson learned: You can't miss the landing ramp if you don't have one!
Where the Hell is ABC's wide world of sports when you need them?
Agree with some of the comments, However, Badass.
Met Gary and his crew the following day in Glenwood Springs, great guys! Gary was a little sore from the jump.
is there not a better video out there of this jump?
57, no landing ramp and 12 semi trucks? Let's not forget the crash at Ceasar's. Mad respect, Mr. Wells. Well done.
I will not forget that either his foot was facing the other direction.
Was at night could not hardly see the video. What the hell brave & made it.
did he make it?, I fell asleep, did he make it?, hey, wered everybody go?
perfect quality , thanks a lot.
I never thought a motorcycle jump could be boring ! I nodded off during this .
how do get any kind of medical coverage pleas reply if you know
Too bad they used a potato with a coke bottle lens to film this jump.
actually a coke bottle lens would have suplied more magnification lol
8:25. I think. Not like you can actually see it. But I think that's when he jumped.

He will never be as great as Robbie Kneivel. G.O.A.T.
And remember when he blamed someone for moving his landing ramp? guy was a jerk
Kinda sad how small the crowd is, and not that enthusiastic either. Times have changed I guess...
Then they all went home, smoked some meth and banged their brothers and sisters.
Same guy that hit the wall at Caesars Palace in 81?
Yep
Think it was 1980
I can’t even see it but took a lot of skill and courage
I was at Caesars Palace fountains when Gary Wells crashed.

Wouldn't it make sense to put some lights on ?
57 yrs. old. I'm 58,.................no way...........................
Wow, now that's never been done before.
The only thing I could see was the applause.
No landing ramp...gotta say that is petty ballsy
