    I was never a big Nascar fan, i was 7 when Dale passed, but i have always been a huge Dale Earnhardt fan. The stories my mom told me about him, watching her watch the races, he was just a badass man and a 7 year old boy can really get into that. Cant believe its been 24 years

    You live by the sword, you die by the sword. Ralph Dale was not (EVIDENTLY) one bit intimidating to death. My favorite memory of big dale is him getting hit in the head with that full can of beer at Bristol in the winners circle after he spun Texas Terry out (who had the race won) . What did Earnhardt say? hey that's racing. Everybody loved Earnhardt so much I know somebody had that put on his Tombstone didn't they? Hey that's racing. I thought the object of racing was to win not wreck and die. Yeah Ole ralph dale should have been a road cop. He specialized in runnin up behind a car, getn in that quarter panel and well you know just like the police do...

    I was never into NASCAR that much when i was younger but i always knew about dale Earnhardt and i started watching because my best friend loved him so much. This was the first Daytona 500 i ever watched and i remember it like it was yesterday what a tragedy it was just like a punch in the gut when dale never walked away from that wreck 😢😢

    Almost 24 years later, this seems like only yesterday. My family was and still remains huge fans of racing, but even Ford racing fans know that The Intimidator took part of this NASCAR era, the best times of racing, with him that day. RIP #3

    Dale should have let the faster cars by yet he decided to put people's life at risk and threw thousands of dollars down the toilet. If Dale survived this he should have been fined and dock 50-100 points cause this was stupid of him.

    It's haunting to think that for seven months, the saddest American story of 2001 was Dale's death. I was 11 and not that hooked into NASCAR, but I remember that Dale's death was national news.

    It was really tragic how it turned out; he'd had a crash the year or so before at Talladega and that crash looked a lot worse on live TV when he walked away without a scratch......this crash wasn't as bad on TV up front as what was actually happening in the car. Scary way to go, but he definitely went out a champion

    Dale Earnhardt is one of the greatest NASCAR ledgen all time. I fell bad for Kenny Schrader when he saw what happened to Dale. But also, i felt bad for Michael Waltrip. Micheal never got to celebrate the win with Dale Earnhardt.

  • @dianeenlow123
    @dianeenlow123 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Ken Schrader has stoically carried this heavy burden. He did it out of love and respect for the Earnhardt Family. He could have sold his story for millions. He didn’t which speaks volumes about his integrity and character. We all know why 16 year old Jr was allowed to travel for a week with Ken. Dale knew the real man and he would take care of his son. He may have allowed him to do grownup activities but he was not in any real danger. Regardless of how you felt about Dale, racing lost its captain on this day.

    Ive heard so many people ask/wonder why it all had to happen this day and honestly in my eyes how could it not have? Dale was a legend and how many legends just die of old age? It actually feels like there really is a life plan cause he died at the daytona 500 something that meant sooo much to him. It makes total sense to me that his final day was the day he helped his son, daryl, and him win one last daytona together, he even said he was the happiest hes ever been when it happened and lets be real... how would dale have every faced retiring from racing? That would have broke him and this way he never had too.

      @@frederickcarr6416 That win was a team effort all three Mikey,Dale Jr. And Dale worked to get Mikey his first win and get DEI their first Daytona win. Dale Sr. wanted him to win that race there was a lot of pressure for Mikey to win NAPA wanted someone else to drive Dale fought for Mikey to drive the 15 car. The loss of Dale effected Mikey hard still to this day. Mentally he never got over it he lost his marriage to Buffy because of it. if you watch Blink Of An Eye he talks about all of it. If anyone is a IDIOT it's you for even saying that and I'm a huge Dale Jr. and Dale Sr. fan

    I watch this once or twice a year and one of the things that strikes me every time is that it seems like DW was in a really good place with his God during this period, and over time it seems he may have lost that. I always wonder if Dale dying and what happened with Mikey had something to do with it. I hope not. I was there at a time in my life when it seemed like the whole world caved in on me, and today I don't even know if I believe in a loving God. Some days I don't think I believe in a god at all. I hope I'm wrong about DW. Not believing is a burden everyday, and when the shit hits the fan , it's almost unbearable because you have nowhere to turn. I know people say you have to find the part of you that believed and hold on. I've tried. 30+ years on I'm pretty sure it's gone for good. Pretty heavy subject matter I know, but I always think about it when I watch this. I hope with all that I am it didn't happen to DW.

A Basilar skull fracture which is what killed Dale is where the bone connect the skull and the spine breaks, leaving the head hanging in a disturbing way that can't be replicated by anyone alive.... U can see it in Kenny's eyes, especially since pre hans device we.lost drivers every year to a BSF
