- This was my first attempt at an exposed full-tang knife handle and it was also my first time using inset pins. There were a couple hiccups in regards to order of operations but luckily nothing I couldn't work out. In the end I think it turned out great and I learned a lot of lessons. Tell me what you think in the comments!
The most beautiful knife making video I have ever seen.
Jesus, that's not a knife it's a magnificent work of art. Beautiful!
I spent hours of my life time just to see this beauty thank you.️
The energy is what makes a good knife...or anything else Well done from an old Aussie
That's quite the bushcraft knife. Very practical.
I must say Sir,,That’s a Beautiful bushcraft knife !
Excellent work on the knife.
It is fun to watch from start to a finished knife. I liked seeing you do the logo.

What an absolutely amazing knife you made.
Thank you!
True skill, absolutely stunning
That's stunning work, excellent job!
I would have liked to see more about your thoughts and techniques on the sheath build. Thanks for the video. Great work
Yea, I need to do a sheath video at some point but I have a house full of kids and dogs. Filming in the leatherworking area is almost impossible lol
Hello to France , pour votre premier full tang, c.eet sacrément réussi. Que dire à part: longue vie et réussite dans vos projet. God bless you !
Merci et merci d'avoir regardé
@@helmwoodshopandsmithy3582 c est gentil.
Awesome work man! I have my Dad's original he picked up during WWII in one of his many adventures.
Great blade and video
Thanks and thanks for watching, as well.
Excellent 👌
I like Forged in Fire, but watching knife making on TH-cam is much more relaxing.
You got good tools and machines....and you got a good idea....while we're having only angle grinder and driller.. congrats anyway
I didn't always have a lot of tools but I've always made nice knives. That's how I paid for the nice tools.
👍well done
Fantastic looking knife - top notch! A good trick for keeping the backside of the liners clear of epoxy is before you cut out your liner material, lay some blue tape on the "clear side" (you can get really wide rolls of blue tape, or just multiple strips of standard 2" edge to edge). Then you can just peel the tape off when your epoxy has cured.
That's a good idea. I already use the wide blue tape for my blades.
I was presented with a real one of these by the very first recruit section I trained back in 1983. I still have it.
Not sure what you mean lol. I designed this knife and it's real
I used to heavy screwdriver shafts. You could never do such a thing now at a school.
Sua faca ficou muito bonita. Parabéns. Like from Brazil. 👍🔰
great video and amazing knife. I would have put brass pins in there though. Or other pins.
I thought about putting brass corbys in there but I do that all the time. It was nice to try something different. Thanks for watching!
Very nice attention to detail. Professional(caring) approach. A couple of questions/comments. Is that Zircote wood that you used for the handle scales? And do you make knives from customers designs, with your input of course? I have a bit of a design for a large recurve “Bowie” that I really would like to see built. Lastly, where are you from? I live in Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba. I’m going to subscribe!
Lots of questions lol. It is cocobolo wood for the scales, I would make a knife a customer designed if I thought it was a reasonably good design and I live in the Dallas, TX area.
You can email me at helmcustomknives@outlook.com if you want to discuss having your knife design made. Thanks for watching!
Beautiful. Well done. The original bushcraft knives were made by Wilkinson Sword.
I was in a Midwest school. The handle was made from a round piece of plexiglass with brass guard and pommel.
NICE
Wow
When I was in junior high school, a friend of mine made a long slend dagger.
Mantaaap
for the kitchen is excellent
Great job mate. How long did you spend doing that knife?
Thank you! I'd say around 15 hours total shop time.
What is the folding knife you used to cut the tape?
That's just a folding box cutter from the hardware store.
You've got the same theme tune as Scotty Kilmer (car repair videos) JFYI
Not surprising. It's just one of the tunes from the TH-cam library.
If you had to charge for all the work you did, how much would you ask for?
That knife sold for $450 with a tooled leather sheath.
How long would it take to make a dagger without modern tools? Forever? :)
I have a video where I do that, actually. It takes 2 days.
Que precio tiene ? Y envia a domicilio ?
Me puede decir el precio y cuanto sale en total con envío a sabinas , coahuila , México?
Nice knife, but I think you'll find that the ridge of the tang protruding from the handle like that makes the grip incredibly uncomfortable for any real use.
I've handled a few knives with a similar partially exposed tang like that and they're horrible to hold and use.
I'd suggest grinding it smooth with the rest of the handle. Your hands will thank you later on.
Gotta make what the client specifies. Thanks for watching.
Could you share the knife template on Instagram?
Bruh this dude has a ruler tattoo on his arm
😂😂 what? I have a Celtics cross and a coat of arms lol
Love it
