    basic questions : How to space the backer board on top of the door opening, how much to the left of the door open and how much should be on the right for the door to slide all the way ? 8 screws into the studs would be nice to know best spacing on the height of the board for best strength like place screws inch from the top and 2nd one inch from the bottom - just small details that make a good instructional videos are missing, leave a lot for me to figure out on my own for a good install ..

    I don't see the use of "anti-jump" locks on the top of the barn door. How do you prevent the barn door from jumping off the track?

      The door is held at the top by the wheel and at the bottom by the soft close actuator as you can see at 2:55. Do not hesitate to contact our product specialists at 1.866.839.2888 or info@ovedecors.com if you have any questions.

    Seems like you would see the 8 black screws that hold up the “decorative board” or did I do something wrong?

    Dumb question: what is the best process for removing the door from its track for refinishing etc?

    • @DaninVirginia
      @DaninVirginia 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok I figured it out. You use a tiny Allen wrench to remove the stopper and the braking mechanism, then the door will roll right off the end of the bar. Easier than I thought. You’ll see the marks in the metal finish to help you replace these parts exactly where they were.

    • @ovedecors1
      @ovedecors1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Simply lift the door and rollers with an angle just like you put it on. You could also remove the stopper to slide it off but you could be limited in that manoeuvre by a wall. Do not hesitate to reach out to our experts if you have more questions of this nature. Problem solving is our passion.

    You need better direction!!! especially as to how many inches from the end of each door to place the actuator... we've watched these video's on this so many multiple times.... who ever wrote these instructions did a sucky job at it

    • @ovedecors1
      @ovedecors1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To know where to place the actuator, simply follow the instructions and do just like in the video. Make sure the door and the glide are in open position and place the actuator in the hook system of the soft close mechanism. If you have anymore doubts, please call one of our experts at 1.866.839.2888 for assistance.

    You don't even specify how far beyond the opening the top board should be placed.

    • @ovedecors1
      @ovedecors1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The top board should be installed at 88 1/8" as indicated in the instruction manual. Do not hesitate to reach out to one of our installation pros at 1.866.839.2888 if you have any hesitations regarding the process.

      In my instructions it says the center line of the header must be at 85.7. So which is it? Plus the holes on the rail don’t even line up with my studs

    • @stiller1980
      @stiller1980 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh and where are the 8 screws your meant to hold the header in with? They just disappeared at the end when buddy slides the door

    • @smg604
      @smg604 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stiller1980 I think they converted all the imperial measurements to decimals and then truncated them at a single decimal point for some reason. i.e. I believe 85.7 should have been 85 3/4 (I'm going to try 85 7/8 to be sure), and similarly "88.1" for the top of the backer ought to have been 88.125 == 88 1/8.
      If you already installed, any tips/corrections before I start? :)
