Cheers Greg. I see your last race video went viral mate 😁😁 Very nice!

It looks stunning weather there. It's far worse in Dublin. Glad to hear the achilles is on the mend.

It's a good job you dropped your "only film on nice days" policy then mate! Hopefully the storm has passed now :)

Excellent news Mark, great to see you running again. AI (with a little help!) seems to be working, too!

Cheers, Nick. Managed to get away with the extra mileage after AI bumped it up a bit more. Adding 1km a week seems a bit lame lol.

Good to see you back out running mate. Also, snap with the Zwift subscription. Each time I get the weeks trained number at the end and it jumps up one, I smile at my debit card 😂

Thanks mate. I'm currently at the whims of my AI overlord when it comes to Zwift sessions and it didn't give me one this week. My Zwifting streaks never seem to get really long :) It's very useful for injured runners though, as I found out recently. I'll try to squeeze in some cycling soon :)

Glad you are getting out there consistently after injury now. ❤
My current 10k training plan is actually whipping me into shape quicker than my half marathon plan 😂its going great 🎉

Thanks! Sounds like the 10k plan suits you well :) More speed is sometimes just what you need. I have to make sure I listen to my body when I'm doing regular speed work, as it sometimes gets too much for me and the old body says "No!" :)

Hi Mark, great to see you ramping back up. Don't let AI boss you around lol. I love the strength and mobility that you're doing to stay healthy and injury-free 💪.

I thought we had to obey our robot overlords 😂 I caught myself saying in the video that AI makes decisions for me. May have over-stated that a bit lol. Couldn't be bothered to correct it in the edit.

Good to see you taking on the storm Mark! Have you thought about using the Garmin race specific suggested workouts? You add the date of your race to the Garmin app and it makes a specific plan for that race depending on your goal time that you enter. 😎🤘

Thanks mate. I think it's mandatory to mention the most recent named storm every time we make a running vlog, isn't it? 😂 I don't think the Garmin 945 supports the race goal workouts from what I have found online. The 945 LTE does, but mine doesn't. To be fair, I'm loving my AI training plans at the moment :)

That Zwift membership will be good motivation for you to carry on crosstraining 😂 Good to see that you're able to up the running at a faster rate than what AI conservatively prescribed originally!

Yes, I don't like the idea of paying for Zwift and not using it, though awkwardly, now the running is ramping up, there hasn't been a Zwift ride on the last week or two of training! I think my wife is also planning to use the bike in January though :)

ooo I dunno, increasing by more than 1k seems super ambitious!
I jest, glad things are ticking along smoothly!

AI coach had obviously been on a risk assessment course that week before advising the huge 1k training leap.

It's funny you should be doing this as I've been playing with chatGPT recently myself for something in a similar vein. I suspect the modest increases are trying to stick strictly within 10% rules.
Have you found any issues with getting wildly different results from AI from week to week? I found sometimes what it comes up with is really generic amd almost over sinplified, where as other times it was really specific.

    • @markg99
      @markg99  5 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

Hi, yes it could well be the 10% rule it's using. Thankfully you can always prompt it to add a bit more if the suggestion isn't quite right for you.
I've had some weird responses in the past. Sometimes I've asked it to show me the training again for a given week and it totally regenerates it, with different results.😁
I find that keeping my plan all in one thread that I keep adding to helps. Over time I think it learns more about what you like, what your race plans are etc and keeps these bits of info in memory. Just lately I've been really liking the AI method for getting my plans.

yes, ChatGPT specifically reads your whole 'conversation' when you ask it something new, so it is aware of what its already given you. I was looking at trying to creat a prompt that I could use to generate whole plans for different distances but sometimes what it came up with was quite basic, other times it would be really in depth.
I think as you say though, as a tool it can help to get you started with something, but then it's always a good idea to actually read what it gives you and then ask it to tweak the results if you think its not quite right.
